No, you're the bad guy that I didn't want to be. I figured cut him some slack. He's a high schooler wrestling up a weight, but you opened the door and I figured I'd back you up. I'm sure you feel the same way, he's obviously a super talent and no part of me is doubting how successful he can be, but I think it's fair to say that his style this weekend was "cautious," to put it politely. I didn't notice his arms being in too unusual of a position. I'll have to watch for it next time.

I just went back and rewatched, you are right. Barr got off his butt and to his feet in a low squat when he pulled Sinclair through. It was a correctly called very close four. I didn't see it in real time, but maybe the tiger style corner did.

Starocci scored a similar 2+2 against Marsteller. It's not wrong, technically. But I always thought it was strange that if you expose them right after the takedown (but they have not yet gotten to a defensive position) you get 2+2. But if you expose them first and then secured the "takedown", for example a chest wrap where the opponent then bellies out and you spin around on top, you only get 2 for exposure and no takedown points are awarded.

PJ seemed to be the favorite to at least make the finals in this bracket. I actually thought he would have less issues with both guys at least in freestyle. Antrell I believe took 4th at the u20 open last year. He is an absolute freak but so far nothing he has done has changed my outlook on him.

Now - just in the interest of fairness - we should all acknowledge at least one simple fact here. If you are contracted to complete a job for the government, and in the middle of the work - you are requested to make multiple significant changes to the job by the President. It should surprise nobody at all that the estimated time of delivery will be pushed out to a later date. That is not Boeing's fault. Because the freestyle ruleset is intentionally created to give maximum interpretive power to the officials, which equals open doors for financially incentivized shenanigans. Half of the referees would have scored it the other way. This is where the freestyle ruleset blows, it’s thoroughly subjective.

Not exactly what you’re asking, but I would have paid good money to see Karelin at his best vs. Lopez at his best. Firmly believe Karelin would win, but would love to find out. If Adam Saitiev had a different brother, who knows what he could be at 74. He was so damn undersized and yet won. Those brothers were the definition of what a technician in Wrestling is.
