I’m a UNC fan and have to say- Trent is incredible. He’s been professional, fair to every wrestler, and hasn’t shown any bias towards his past teammates. He also has done a great job breaking the action down for people that may not fully understand what’s happening. Shane has also done a great job this weekend helping Trent find his voice. Matcast has been really, really enjoyable.7 points

DC is absolutely the worst commentator of all time. Guy just won a national title and instead you take away his limelight talking about his 6’3 volleyball famous on tiktok girlfriend i guarantee you dc knows nothing about theee wrestlers or their stories5 points

Day 3. Most people don’t understand how hard this is physically and mentally. Just how grueling it is. I mean three straight days of posting on the forum, screaming at the TV, listening to two sets of announcers at the same time, drinking beers and ordering dominos, it’s hard for the average person to comprehend.5 points

if just one of the champions tonights resists being herded over to him immediately after the match or, even better, tells him to fug off I will be a fan of that wrestler for life. I'm not hopeful but maybe at least one of these kids will have the self respect not to grovel for this sheetstain5 points

I’m not sure if it will be Kerk or Hendrickson, but I think one of them beats him. Getting flashbacks to 2022 Spencer Lee with most people seeming to assume him winning is a foregone conclusion.4 points

I know there’s a lot of talk about how this Penn State team supposedly under performed, but I honestly believe they proved they are the best TEAM ever. All 10 wrestlers in the top 6 in the country has never been done before, and it is truly an insane accomplishment! We all know tournament scoring favors a top heavy performance (ex. 5 champs and 5 0-2 could win the tournament). IMO that’s not the best way to measure a total team. I’ve always been impressed by Minnesota’s 10 AAs (they had no finalists and two guys get 8th). Penn State has already topped that with all guys top 6 and 3 finalists. Regardless of what happens today, we have never seen a team like this before!4 points

I love that Sparks tweets just like he talks. I'm hearing his voice as I read that4 points

Speculation: ESPN knows that a certain visitor is coming to the venue. He wants to show up, watch a few matches, feed off the fan frenzy and excitement (and likely imagine it is really for him) in the biggest, first match, and then leave early. Perhaps ESPN is even being pressured to accommodate this visitor, though they would never admit this out loud so they come up with a strange, twisted, and illogical rationalization for starting with 184.4 points

Quick analysis heading into the finals. Premier League: @Perry appears to have the championship locked up. The real battle is for 2nd through 4th, with 11.5 points separating @killdozer, @JvStateChamp1, @Gage, and @flyingcement. Champion League: There are two battles in play. At the top of the scoreboard, @Kov88 still leads @jajensen09 by one-half point. They both have a chance for three champs, with a head-to-head battle at 141. @Cornell Kevin and @charmon55 are in a tight race for 3rd & 4th. Cornell Kevin leads, but charmon55 has more finalists. They will go head-to-head at 197. Reminder... payouts are as follows:4 points

Congratulations @CHROMEBIRD, winning by the smallest of margins over @flyingcement Two of the best posters on these forums are now the two finest judges of talent. And if you recall from the first post, CHROME took the second longest of shots. The sum of his ten wrestlers' seeds was 237, just one away from @GimJustafan's 238 high total. Let that be a lesson to all those who thought there was gold in the 17/18 hills. Like wrestling, this stuff is hard. So, thank you to all who participated. There is always next year. As for the Dark Horses who made this all possible, Northwestern's Trevor Chumbley shall rule them all. He didn't just put up the highest total, his total was more than the next two wrestlers combined. Coming soo - how each seed performed.3 points

I'm not bashing individual wrestlers here not do i blame them for using the current system to their advantage but am I the only one not happy with the product we are currently seeing? Is this the style of wrestling we want to be working towards? Maybe I'm in the minority here but it just doesn't feel right.3 points

Way to go Mendez and Hardy... This is the wrestling we came to see!!! Also, J Jaggers is usually dripped out. His Ohio State Wrangler button-up is quite the choice haha3 points

Laughable to call Mendez for stalling immediately after the restart after what we've watched in the first 3 matches3 points

The last 4 years for wrestlers have been a real challenge. When you qualify for the NCAA tournament your bracket may have 20 percent double -Covid seniors. I'm not sure how many underclassmen have been knocked off the podium the last 4 years. I will guess its 20 to 25 percent. 64 to 80. I'm sure WKN has the data somewhere. Kudos to the wrestlers, coaches and families that have persevered through these last 4 years. Special kudos to the wrestlers who only got 3 years of eligibility because Covid. They received zero from the NCAA. Pathetic.3 points

Before the finals kick off and the chaos starts, I want to take a second and toast all you guys on this forum. The back and forth here, NCAAs and all season, is one of the things that has kept me involved in this sport way after my competitive career ended. Hope you all have a great night, cheers buds.3 points

Trent is simply the best I have ever heard. He knows everything about every wrestler. He is under control and had eyes on all 8 or 6 mats. Knew what happened when Sparks would ask him. Really gives good insight on texhniques that I appreciate late being a basketball player who loves wrestling too. Mat cast easily become the go to after checking it out Thursday morning. Really hope he is back again, although being such a quality guy I am sure a program will want him on staff.3 points

Hendrickson was about to hit kirk with that navy tilt at the end but remembered he was in the airforce. My dad joke of the evening.3 points

Make a reversal worth 3. I don't understand why a reversal should not get the same as a TD. Better yet, make it 4. Make it equivalent to an esc + TD. Call me crazy, but I think a reversal is a better wrestling move than a TD. Better in that, it's harder to accomplish and therefore should be worth more. It bothers me that a TD+esc is worth twice as much as just going straight from the defensive position to offense.3 points
