You are missing a lot there. For one, I am a Michigan alumni. Secondly, you are legitimately making shit up at this point. You're being a grimy bitch.2 points

Did any of you people ever watch the RBY video? He came from a depressed area with a working class upbringing. Do you know his financial situation or that of his family? Do you know what he got from NIL? Somebody post his financials, then you can bitch. if you disagree or feel he could cover it. don't contribute.2 points
-
You're intentionally being a disrespectful dick by calling them 'migrant worker athletes' and you know it. Stop.2 points
-
What? CKWC clearly worded their fundraising to deter any of that manner of toxicity. "4 Olympic Athletes" with no mention of who. Don't know and don't care if or how NLWC is supporting RBY's Olympic dreams. This great sport we love deserves better people around it than those that would not only advocate against supporting RBY but advocate against others also supporting RBY.2 points

I looked up Onosato's bio, apparently he won the World Sumo games in Alabama in 2022. I didn't know Sumo was ever contested in the states.1 point

Illini, do you ever watch Futagoyama beya YT channel? Good stuff. Hakkeyoi!1 point

By saying "I was there for the last year of Hakuho's reign," I mean that I watched all of the tournaments that year on Youtube. I wasn't actually in Japan. Of course, then I wanted to see all of his matches.1 point

Great story, @Threadkilla! I was there for the last year of Hakuho's reign. He was amazing. By far the GOAT among legends. The May basho is over, and we have a new winner! Onosato is the champion in only his third tournament. He finished at 12-3. The runner-up was the fellow I also thought had a chance to win, Daieisho, who finished at 11-4. Ura fell apart as expected, but it was so bad that he failed to reach .500 with a 7-8 record. That was unexpected. I was happy to see Takarafuji finish 9-6, which is a nice record for him at his age. Onosato has now finished 11-4, 11-4 and 12-3 in his three bashos. One runner-up finish and a championship. He is a new and emerging super talent. Hakkeyoi!1 point

I imagine you have a point in there somewhere? Right? Perhaps you should redo 8th grade.1 point

So that goes for all of the OSU guys, then? Doucet could still duck on out. As could Surber. I think they should.1 point

Shit. He's fatter than I am. I bet he's put on 50 pounds since he graduated.1 point

Shrug, it is what it is. Any attempt to even state most of this, or other issues, out loud at hs or college level.. mostly gets shouted down or people say that the "only" reason people have problems with it is because "their team isn't winning".1 point

People are either ignorant, xenophobic, or a toxic combination of both. Add it that keyboards don't typically fight back and a lot of folks get courageous.1 point

Nothing at all wrong with this to help fund his family expenses to the Olympic Games. They need some help, why not give it to them?1 point

You'd be surprised at the age of Rec Hall fans at PSU. Mostly gray hairs and precious few students.1 point

this isn't related to the topic because its a general fan comment and not related to conduct on this forum, but once I was sitting with the press people matside at the Iowa OSU meet in carver, and i was amazed at the things people would yell at john smith...it was all the gross things you would think, plus insult along of the lines of "you were a joke when you competed". I was impressed that he never even shot a dirty look because you'd have thought there was a million dollar bounty on one.1 point

I have never noticed how bad OSU fans could be until this David Taylor hire! The shit-talking is just relentless...and they haven't done anything! I don't really care about any other fan base. Iowa fans can be a bit cocky. I remember a story about Cael being asked if he thought he could have won ONE State Title if he'd Wrestled in Iowa in HS. Penn thinks if you're not from Penn, you're just not serious about Wrestling(they do have more hammer's than all of Lowe's, but still...there are other good Wrestlers). But it's Oklahoma and not even close. I just didn't realize how bad until recently. They are definitely counting their rings before they're...mined I guess?1 point

MSU is on HR/GIA. Arguing with everyone and anything he can find. No idea where TBAR went. Some say he's in Zihuatnejo. It's in Mexico. A little place on the Pacific Ocean. They say it has no memory. That's where he went to live the rest of his life. A warm place with no memory.1 point

Didn’t get an answer on the 50/50 thing. if they are not financially supporting rby’s family as well as cklv supports their migrant worker athletes………. Do you find that xenophobic? Is it possible cklv will have a leg up on recruiting these types of athletes?-1 points
-
I don’t know what wording or what manner of toxicity you are referring to. I was just wondering why cklv supports their migrant worker athletes better than nlwc. also I didn’t make up that title in reference to oly athletes competing for other countries. I found it in a New York Times article from 2008….-1 points
-
This is a New York Times article. There are some comments where USA athletes are not happy about what’s going on. You can’t be a dik quoting the nyt… it’s the woke bible also. Don’t be pissed the cklv team helps their folks more? That’s on y’all psu folks…. If nlwc does not want to support their folks You sure can-1 points

He completely skipped 8th grade once to play vids to get a leg up on his competition. He had it rough back then. I know a lot of kids that could just be so good…. That he skipped 8th grade. I grew up poor too.-1 points
