I know some have complained about the broadcast on Peacock, but I thought the quad box was great aside from the issues with mat 3 for a bit, especially during the JB/Facundo match. But I thought Shane deserved his own thread. He just went 5 hours broadcasting by himself and stayed on top of all of the action. Very impressive! Thank you Shane.7 points

Did I see Nolf get pushed out twice with no calls in addition to no calls when not engaging in the second period? Huh? It was a good match by Nolf but a head-scratcher on some no-calls.4 points

Having twins in the last 6 months? My God, I'm surprised he has energy to do any of this right now.4 points

IMO MM tried to bully JB and get into his head, but it was not close to being successful.4 points

Messenbrink like a barking puppy out there, while JB was the old dog treating him with disdain. Not sure why we expect all these guys to be lovey dovey. There is only one spot on the team.4 points

I felt like it wasn't a big deal at all. Mesenbrink was very intense. Burroughs gave him a shove. It's not a big deal. Don't make it one.4 points

just got back from session 1 major takeaways. The high school kids are absolutely unreal cox looked like he was about to die post match Shapiro looked dreadful compared to my standards for him. Facundo if it translates to folk will be ready to AA Spencer looks healthy and has insane hips Yianni looked really good aside from when he looked really bad Carter looked really undersized MM may have something to say about a Dake Burroughs rematch Jesse gets better every time I see him4 points

BB mckenna match is a perfect example of where folkstyle gets something right. The dominance points of holding a guy on his back for nearfall and the fact that mckenna was very nearly pinned make that match result leave a sour taste in my mouth.4 points

Cox has made weight. PD3 is onsite. Brackets out within an hour. Wrestling begins in less than two hours. Let's have ourselves the best two days of the year! My big predictions for this morning Fix over Suriano Nick Lee only sees Saturday if he wants to wrestle on the backside McKenna takes out Green despite the recovery time. Shoes on the mat. Pain for the entire arena. Bartlett takes out Alirez JB runs roughshod on 74 Dean takes out Marstellar, Hidlay rocks Starocci Everyone wonders why the three best at 97 are on the same side of the bracket Gwiz humbles Kerk3 points

Mendez juuuuust missed finishing a blast double at the end. Dude's got that dawg in him for sure.3 points

That Kerk match is another way freestyle gets it wrong. Kerk was doing everything, but we "have to" put him on the clock in the second period. He's down on criteria, so he has to do things he otherwise wouldn't. This dumb shit happened to Nolf a few years ago. He took something like 15 shots to the other guys 0 shots, but the other guy I guess had his back pointed towards the center more, so Nolf goes down on stupid ass criteria and loses. Its awful.3 points

I absolutely love the tradition of leaving the shoes on the mat as a way of retiring. No other sport has anything as good.3 points

Sorry but it looked like MM was trying to bully JB and get into his head, and then drove low into JB's legs when they were already out of bounds (which can result in an injury). If that's the case then JB was 100% right to show MM what he thought of that.3 points
-
you missed when MM pushed JB's head into the mat 3 or 4 times on the edge? you missed MM continuing 3 or 4 seconds after the whistle on the edge?3 points

JB as the villain is the juice he needs. This crowd might have just unlocked vintage Burroughs.3 points

Bad look my foot. He punched him in the back of the head. Out of the tournament with a 2 year ban in the sport. We’re not tolerating a blatant assault like that and on national TV.3 points

Aliaksandr Kikiniou is 44 years old, and he is in the semis at 77KG in Greco. He took out Porter 6-0. He must have transferred from Belarus at some point. He won a Bronze at Worlds in 2009 and competed in the 2004 Olympics. You can see his gray hair at 6:30 PM today. He is more than twice the age of some of the other guys. Impressive given that one's VO2 max declines about 10 percent each decade after your 20's.3 points

Shane Sparks LOVES wrestling. Not just doing the broadcasting for a paycheck and it is easy to tell by the enthusiasm and knowledge he carries on each call.3 points
