  1. i'll try explaining 'woke' to you... it's a person who disregards clear and obvious sensibilities and science in favor of some progressive lunacy to A) score brownie points among other likeminded nutbags B) feel good about themselves it's rather simple. you're one of them. it's why you think men and women should play sports together. it's why you like CNN. and it's why you wear a mask alone in your car.

  8. I'm with you there, no need to go overboard. That said, U20 champs are basically a guarantee to AA, and most win titles at some point in their careers. Looking at the past 10 years of junior world champs in their first year of competition, we have: 2013 Snyder - 2nd place in first try in 2015 (no redshirt) 2015 Lee - 1st place in first try in 2018 (no redshirt) 2016 Lee - See above Hall - 1st place in first try in 2017 (no redshirt) 2017 Hall - See above Fix - 2nd place in first try in 2019 Steveson - 3rd place in first try in 2019 (no redshirt) 2018 Lewis - 1st place in first try in 2019 2019 Carr - 1st place in first try in 2021 Parris - 2nd place in first try (after world's) in 2021 2021 O'Toole - 1st place in first try (after World's) in 2022 Elam - 4th place in first try (after World's) in 2022 Amos - NQ in first try 2022 Volk - NQ in first try Kueter - TBD 2023 Shapiro - TBD Mesenbrink - TBD

  11. there's nothing wrong with finding solutions to problems. but the current EV industry is not a solution. the entire industry is powered by fossil fuels - the machines they use to mine the rare elements, and the outlet they plug in to charge. and the land is raped in the process. nothing about it makes sense. they use energy from fossil fuels to produce a vehicle with short range that runs on fossil fuels. there's a reason why Sweden just announced they were breaking w/ the rest of the world and building all nuclear. it's cleaner and cheaper. EV is currently a joke. you want to talk about a failing market - check the reports from almost all major auto companies P&L on EV's.

  12. So using electricity to mine coal but what was the energy source for generating the electricity? We really need to work on capturing more UFOs, I'm guessing those galaxy travelers have figured something out. We are just going in visious circles.

  13. I did the math on that once for combine harvesters working 12/16 hr days, same work rate as current machines, you'd need swappable huge batteries and of course semi trucks to haul the batteries out to the field to swap them and the huge batteries for the E semi trucks, plus the extra more labor ...

  18. They mine or remove 500,000 lbs to 1.3 million lbs of dirt to get enough minerals to make ONE EV car battery . 250 tons to 650 tons of earth removed. The transition to other sources needs to be done with a great deal of thought. The wild west approach will cause more harm then any good. Good well thought out technology takes time.

  19. Don't forget the diesel fuel. Have you ever seen them transport and construct, they don't do it with EV trucks. Also repair crews are mostly diesel powered trucks. Likewise hydro dams etc constructed and maintained with diesel power. Yes technology advances are moving us in a better direction but we will still be dependent on diesel and some coal for a long time.

  20. I don't think we are talking about coal are we? The 9 most terrifying words in the English language. I'm from the government and I'm here to help. Have you seen the amount of destruction it takes to the environment to mine lithium and the other metals necessary? You might want to take a look at the mines on YouTube. Have you ever looked up the amount concrete, steel.plastics, oil and petroleum products it takes to make one wind turbine? They only last 20 to 25 years. How environmentally intelligent (or safe ) is that. The solar panels only last 25 years. Where does all the panels and turbines go when they are replaced?

  22. Yes I see Minnow also said “he’s already heading somewhere else” when someone asked about Iowa too, so he can’t do the “just asking questions” bit. But seems odd to enter the portal now if he’s wrestling at Cornell this year and already knows where he’s going next year. Only reason to do that would be to entertain other offers IMO.

  28. In any situation it looks as if the 2021 free covid year will be the year he is utilizing (which correct me if I am correct, the Ivies did not recognize...? Weird times those were). That said, FYI the site put a red squiggly lines under Covid above as well as that one, too... so now it isn't a word. Anyways... interesting that is what he is going to be able to utilize. I like it. I know Arujau has already said he won't be doing that. Fernandez and Loew might be in the same boat, as it were. Since he is a grad transfer what is actually stopping him from going now? He already has his degree from Cornell, correct?

Or is it just you being a hypocrite once again, and going against the inclusive little woke progressive you claim to be??

  37. Agreed! And to the level of using what one reads to make decisions for themselves. I always felt that it doesn't take anything away from a doctor, or "expert" if you take your own health decisions into your own hands. My long-time doctor LOVED it when her patients did that as she always said patients should have a huge say in their health and treatments. People also forget that a lot of these "experts" in regard to Covid were providing their RECOMMENDATIONS based on the most conservative approach possible (didn't look at things from all aspects of society), it was the politicians (who are NOT doctors or experts) who set the mandates and shutdowns. And most of those mandates were completely illogical, did nothing, didn't take the "science"/data into consideration, and took so many opportunities away from people. Effects that we still feel today.
