  6. Why would these people need to be celebrated? Perhaps we should leave them alone. Perhaps they should do the same and leave others alone. What was once kept behind closed doors is now out in the open. Are we better for it? We have now come to a place in time where a man is celebrated as being woman of the year. Men are better at being a woman than a woman is. That is what that is saying. Does this boost women? It diminishes them. It is wrong for men to supplant women, when they physically cannot. There is no scientific reason or biological reason to believe in this masquerade. People can do what they want, but that does not mean they can do it to minors. It does not mean they can afflict others to agree in their delusion. It is delusionary to know you are a man but pretend to be a young girl. Are we to now financially support a man who says he is a 6 year old girl because he can't take care of himself? That is coming I'm sure. Men in women's locker rooms and bathrooms because they say they are a woman is now ok? And real women who complain about this are the ones who are punished. When did we lose our way? mspart

  8. Iowa was a bigger favorite in 2020 than they were in 2021. They weren't robbed of a title per se, but they were robbed of the very likely opportunity to win one. Collegiate wrestling is a grind, and by 2022, the guys were still there but even more ground down. However, again, I would characterize it as losing the opportunity at a very likely title. 2020 was Iowa's strongest year and Penn State's weakest in a long while; they took 4th in the B1G tournament, not second. Iowa lost their opportunity, as did many very great individual wrestlers like Kollin Moore, Luke Pletcher, Pat Lugo,, Matt Kolodzik (among the athletes who suffered the worst from an athletic perspective), Mark Hall, Vincenzo Joseph. Then you had guys losing what might have been their best opportunities for a title (Sasso, Rivera, Marinelli). All spilt milk though. It sucks, but it is what it is; but for COVID, Iowa is extremely likely to have won two titles and Spencer Lee probably has his 4 titles. They don't though, and ain't nothing changing that.

  9. "But" nothing. 2021 actually happened. There is nothing to speculate about in regards to 2021. Are you just making up scenarios now where a free year was given to 2020 seniors for 2021? Hall is a wash if that's what you're implying, because if he's in the lineup Starocci isn't. Essentially it comes down to if you think Cenzo/Rasheed/Verkleeren in 2020 could outscore Kerkvliet/Beard/Berge/Howard in 2021 by 16 (assuming PSU still wins at 133, 141, and 174 and Lee is Iowa's only champ). Highly doubtful, unless you start getting into scenarios like Lee pulling a 2023.

  10. I had the privilege of watching what I think was his last tournament (95 Worlds) in the company of a friend of his, and in close vicinity to a friend/coach/training partner of his. I was able to get some insights on the technique and the personality of one of our all-time greats.

  16. Agreed. You’d think when the product is basically just a database with some less than groundbreaking functions, you’d try to make sure the simplest of the algorithms were correct… it’s not like FloArena is some computer science assignment a junior high kid threw together last minute… or is it? As bland and boring as TrackWrestling is looking like something from Windows 3.1, along with some of its user-unfriendly quirks, it is light years ahead of Arena on functionality.

  19. I typically rotate my house beer between Coors heavy and Bud Heavy. Since this whole ordeal, I've noticed price discounts for Bud and as a result, I stopped my rotation and focused on Bud heavy only. I will resume drinking Coors if the price point becomes the same once again. I'm not paying extra for Coors, but I'm thankful that there are idiots out there who would - so I can continue to enjoy this delicious discount.

  27. I have a theory. You know how Trent Hillger has those luscious locks? It's well-known in various circles that Thor uses only the finest Scandinavian hair conditioner products. Well rumor has it that one day Gilman grew a little too jealous, what with his receding hair line, and decided he wanted to cut a corner on the Just For Men club. So he joined PSU on the trip to the Wiscy dual, snuck into the locker room, and stole all the bottles of Hillger's conditioner. He liked the initial results but was constantly craving more and eventually he became addicted like Joe Buck was addicted to hair plugs. And because he still struggles with his conditioner addiction to this very day, Gilman is often seen jonesing during prematch warmups but then disappears to the back. A few minutes later he re-emerges with his body covered head-to-toe in oily conditioner-y grease... and silky smooth hair. He should have just owned the male pattern baldness like his mentally tougher opponent Zane Richards.

  28. A week later. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/bud-light-sales-keep-slipping-in-another-very-weak-week-155036783.html Anheuser-Busch InBev stock (BUD) is down more than 17% since the Bud Light parent company reported earnings on May 4 as the Dylan Mulvaney controversy continues to weigh on the beer giant's sales. The company, though, saw some slight improvement. In the week ending May 27, Anheuser-Busch InBev said Bud Light sales dropped 23.9% from a year ago — a smaller decline than the week prior, down 25.7%. Volumes were slightly improved slightly better too, down 27.8% the week of May 27, compared to down 29.5% the week of May 20. That's according to data from Bump Williams Consulting cited in an Evercore ISI note to clients. "Another week of very weak trends for Bud Light indicates that tracked channels may be reaching a point of stabilization, albeit at significantly lower levels for Anheuser-Busch InBev than prior to the controversy," Evercore said. mspart

  29. Using the definition implied in this BBS, we need more bigots because the broader public should not support public companies that celebrate a man (Dylan) with gender dysphoria who makes videos pretending to be a 6-year-old girl, who also discusses their barbie pocket. Other transgenders cannot stand Dylan... Do you have a line to draw for public celebration? Should Stefonknee Wolscht be publicly celebrated? How about a public celebration of these men in the back of the truck at the parade?

  36. At HWC, Gilman went from 2nd (2017) to DNP (2018) to DNQ (2019). Many of us, including me, had written off his 2017 silver as a bit flukish. At NLWC, Glman went Bronze-Gold-Silver (2020-22). That's not natural progression. It's a level jump. That said, I don't think its proof that NLWC has better coaching than HWC. Sometimes a guy just needs a change of environment to thrive, or a different coaching perspective, or different training partners with a wider set of looks. That doesn't mean the coaches are qualitatively better. (Truthfully I DO think NLWC's free/folk coaching tops overall, I just don't think one can assume all improvement is due to coaching quality.) Candidly I wish the various RTCs would agree to "athlete exchanges," e.g. swapping wrestlers for maybe a month or two at a time, to ensure their guys are getting different coaching perspectives and different training partners. It would no doubt benefit both RTCs' athletes in the long run.

  38. I mean.. the progress wasn’t really linear… He went from a surprise silver to DNPing for 2-3 years and looking like he was slightly regressing. He wasn’t finishing shots either, either only got a step out or was countered. Since going to PSU.. he’s only won 3 straight world medals and a title. Gilman only massively improved his technique.. Started to finally make very clear technical adjustments to finish his shots, wrestles to score points instead of just try to hand fight people down. There’s not bad faith arguments here

  41. MICHIGAN 125 I imagine we see some spot starting of Horwath to get his five dates, but the postseason guy is going to be DeAugustino. Aside for possibly Richy Figs of ASU and Ayala of Iowa I don't see anybody in the field that could make a sort of evolutionary tier leap that might make it so a healthy DeAugustino doesn't contend for a National Title next season. There are about a dozen gents in there on the same tier, so he will have to wrestle a near perfect NCAAs, but it's not out of the realm of possible. We could see a title contender - again IF healthy come tourney time, or a guy who flames out and goes 1-2 or 2-2 and doesn't score many points. I am thinking the change of scenery has a positive effect and he pulls in a mid-AA performance and finishes with a win. 3rd or 5th. I think Horwath will show signs during the season that he has a bright future, I just don't know at what weight that will be at. I am hoping 125, but we will see once he gets on that D1 training regimine. 133/141 I am going to put these weights together, since I am unsure who is going where, despite it being 'known' that Cannon is going 141 and Ragusin 133. I think both have the same sort of potential at either weight. Ragusin's peak is a little higher because he does have a go-for-broke mentality, when it suffices him. That does put his valley a little lower, though. Cannon is a bit more consistent and controlling in his matches. He doesn't tend to let them get out of hand is is more fundamentally in place, so while his peak might be a little lower, his valley is higher. I think Ragusin at 133 could place as high as 3rd, but could also R12 or worse for the up-teenth time. Cannon could also place as high as 3rd, but it looks like his valley is R12 or even low AA at 133. At 141 I think Ragusin has a peak of 2nd or 3rd but he could go 0-2. Cannon's peak is a bit lower, likely mid-AA range, but his valley looks much higher. Again R12 or possibly a little lower in R16. I do think that the best option is Cannon then Ragusin, but I am not the coaching staff (for a reason). For the future we have Lemley at 133 and we might see a spot start here and there. I do expect him to get his full five matches in some way, shape, or form. At 141 we have Gates / Mantanona coming in for the class of 2024. I am not sure any of the guys we actually have coming in are 141lbers for the future, unless Lemley grows in to it. Then we are down our 133 for the future, unless Horwath goes 133... then we are down our 125... I do think Lemley will do well at either weight. 149 OOF. Lost Lamer, who I will still root for wholeheartedly. Unless we pull in a late portal guy (there are a few out there - Moore, Bryant, etc) I don't think we qualify the weight. I think we end up seeing some combination of Mayora and Kim. Mayora is a 0.500 type guy at best and most of his wins will be before the new year starts. It may give folks a false sense of hope. I think Kim is far too small for 149, but if Mayora struggles we might see him. I anticipate seeing Gilcher in the lineup come dual time to get his matches. Mantanona might be too big for 149, but if he isn't I expect to see him there, too. If either of them knock our socks off I wouldn't be surprised to see them get a postseason nod out the gate. Mantanona and Gilcher are likely going to end up being our 157/165lbers once those weights clear out, which is my only deterrent to seeing one (or both) of them go 149 right now, even though the weight would be very easy for at least Gilcher to do. Adams is taking a gap year to focus on Greco, then I think he will settle in at 149, so those three weights will be set. 157 We have Lewan. His peak, without some superstar, is going to be a NC - despite what others might want or think. The problem is that his valley could be 0-2 and every single match could finish 3-2 or 3-1. It is boring as all hell, but he does win much more than he loses. I do think he pulls in another mid-AA performance to go out and wins his final match as well. 3rd or 5th. I already said what needed to be said about the young gents in 149. That said expect Consuelos to have a start or three at 157/165. IF his dad has any say in it, he will be heading down to 149 to contend for a starting spot (I am all for it...). 165/174 I am going to combine these as well. I do think Griffith has a higher ceiling, as he could beat Carr, O'Toole, or Starocci (yep). I don't know if Amine can. He wrestles too closely and those three are just so damn good in some areas where Amine is serviceable. I would like to see Amine go 174 and Griffith 165, however I do think it will be opposite. I do think Amine will bring home a 3rd place finish when all is said and done. I just don't see him beating Carr or O'Toole. I think Griffith brings home a 2nd or 3rd, depending on how the brackets shake out and only loses to Starocci come NCAAs. For the future here, I think we see Mantanona grow in to this weight with Gilcher at 157. I think we might see some spot starts from Knudten and Khawaja at 174 and Mattin at 165 (maybe 174?) for load management, but we know who will be there for the postseason - health willing. 184 I think this is Rogers spot. I think he will AA, but it will be low. He could also barely bring home a NQ sort of resume and I wouldn't be surprised. I expect him to be in a lot of matches with a lot of contenders. Hidlay and Brooks went up, so it is conceivable that we could see a mid-AA performance. I think he slides in in the lower 6-8 range, though. We should see Bullock or Walker get some matches here throughout the season and they are very capable gents too if Rogers gets banged up. He is our future at this weight. 197 Unless we see a portal here late, it looks to be another hole. Yatooma did show signs of improvement once he hit the lineup, but he was undersized and just not at the level we have come to expect the B1G 197lbers to be at. I am hoping a healthy Bullock comes in and holds the spot for a season while Walters redshirts. Walters will get his five dates, you can count on it. He is expected to be a four year starter once all is said and done. 285 Davison should contend for a title. Anything less and he will be disappointed. I am predicting that he will win. Our future here looks to be Jenkins and I wouldn't be surprised to see him get some spot starts here and there for load management. He needs to get on that Parris diet a bit more, though. Last year at the end of the season he was still a very light HWT. All in all I think we end up having 1 NC and 6 or 7 other AA performances come NCAAs and Michigan will bring home a trophy.
