Who, if anybody, makes the finals for Iowa this year.

My guess is this is the year the streak goes away.

(All hawks listed)

In order from MOST realistic to LEAST realistic:

Caliendo, anjello, Kennedy, ayala, petersen, block, bailey, keuter, gabe

I think they get a finalist. One of the first 3 listed

Full of un-bias blasphemy.

It’s gonna be tough. This could be the year the streak ends. Caliendo is their best (maybe only) chance.

Basch doesn't know enough outside of Penn St to do this

This was my post on "does Iowa's finals streak end" thread

Caliendo, if the 2 or 3...Problem is, he has more losses than Blaze, did not win his conference, and an important factor is the head to head loss v Blaze.  I was thinking the head to head might carry more weight than finishing 2nd v 3rd at Bigs.  I realize Blaze didn't even get to him at the tournament but I don't think the formula cares, the head to head already happened and it was a loss.  I think Mikey is probably the 2nd best guy at 165 but the formula might put him to the 4, since conference titles seem to carry weight in the formula.  If he gets the 3, I like him in a rematch and continuing the streak.

The rematch with Blaze is the best shot, and I think Caliendo wins the rematch.

IMO, Caliendo has about a 45% chance of making the finals. He’s about a 50/50 in the semis but there’s always a small chance he doesn’t get there. I don’t think there is anyone else on the Iowa squad that has a better than 5% chance of making the finals.

Kennedy is on Haines side of the bracket.  Ayala is way more likely (though not likely at all).

Caliendo, Ferrari, Ayala, Peterson, Bailey, Kueter, Block, Kennedy, Arnold.

So you are saying more likely than not the streak continues?

I think Ferrari is 25%…50/50 matches with both McEnelly and Sinclair

It’s about a 50/50 in my opinion

He’s probably their next best shot, but getting through both of them is not very likely.

I definitely think it’s higher than 5%…

Caliendo best shot. Maybe Kennedy.

LOL, just realized Kennedy is on same side as Levi. 0% chance at 174.

Caliendo is only shot.

I think he’s saying that if you think Caliendo has a 45% chance, Ferrari or someone else has a 5% chance, and the rest of the team combined has a greater than 0% chance, that mathematically you are saying they have a greater than 50% chance of getting a finalist.
