I'd like to see him beat someone who is at least a AA contender before crowning him the 2nd best guy.    Mendez wasn't able to major him but other than that his resume doesn't jump off the page.

As you noted, we will find out and hopefully it will be Sunday.

Echemendia smoked Bailey.  Bailey should have won against both Vega and Hardy.  Both super close matches.  I can definitely see an argument for crowning echemendia the 2nd best guy.

For what it might be worth, let's see what AI has to say about Mormonism since I don't want to waste my own time writing about it and also because Christopher Hitchens is dead and I can't consult him directly for his unrepentant barbs.  Of course, similar things could be said about most religions:

Critics and former members often describe certain beliefs and practices within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (often referred to as Mormonism) as "absurd" or, from a secular or mainstream Christian perspective, highly unconventional. These beliefs, which deviate significantly from traditional Christianity and are often based on the 19th-century revelations of Joseph Smith, include the following:
Origins and Scripture
  • The Golden Plates: The belief that Joseph Smith discovered ancient, buried metal plates in New York, written in "Reformed Egyptian," which he translated into the Book of Mormon using "seer stones" in a hat, and which were subsequently taken back by an angel.
  • The Garden of Eden in Missouri: A belief that the Garden of Eden was located in Jackson County, Missouri, and that Adam and Eve moved to America after being cast out.
  • Pre-Columbian Jewish Civilizations: The Book of Mormon narrative claims that indigenous Americans are descendants of a group of Jews who sailed from Jerusalem in 600 B.C., a claim that lacks archaeological or DNA evidence.
Theology and Godhood
  • God Was Once a Man: The doctrine that God the Father is a perfected, resurrected man who lives near a star or planet named Kolob, and that human beings can progress to become gods themselves.
  • Jesus as Satan’s Brother: The belief that all humans, including Jesus and Satan, are spirit children of Heavenly Parents (God and a Heavenly Mother) who lived in a pre-mortal state.
  • Plurality of Gods: Contrary to traditional Trinity, Mormonism teaches a more polytheistic view, with multiple, separate divine beings.
Temple Rituals and Practices
  • "Magic Underwear" (Garments): The wearing of special, consecrated garments under clothing, intended to serve as a physical reminder of covenants made in the temple and believed by some to offer spiritual and, in anecdotal, non-official stories, physical protection.
  • Secret Handshakes and Names: Temples involve secret, hand-and-token rituals necessary to pass angels to enter the highest level of heaven (the Celestial Kingdom).
  • Baptism for the Dead: The practice of baptizing living members on behalf of deceased ancestors (or others, including historical figures like Anne Frank) to offer them salvation in the afterlife.
Historical and Social Controversies
  • Forced Polygamy: Stories regarding Joseph Smith, including accounts that he was commanded by an angel with a flaming sword to practice plural marriage, marrying women as young as 14.
  • Race and the Priesthood: Until 1978, the church denied black men the priesthood and black women temple ordinances, based on doctrines that linked black skin to a curse from God (a "skin of blackness").
  • The Second Anointing: A secretive, elite temple ritual that guarantees exaltation (the highest heaven) for selected couples, effectively making them "above sin".
  • Word of Wisdom Specifics: The strict prohibition of "hot drinks" (defined as tea and coffee) and alcohol, which some find arbitrary or excessive, especially compared to the emphasis on tithing (giving 10% of income).
These elements are frequently highlighted by critics to characterize the faith as a "cult" or a "fake religion," while, for followers, these doctrines are often viewed as restored truths or sacred, symbolic traditions.

I think Hardy sticks Davis.  Davis has a tendency to get put on his back and Hardy is deadly with the cradle.

I think you're on to something call Cael!!!

There is a large gap between should of won and actually winning.  Bailey wrestled both Vega and Hardy for a over 14 minutes combined and didn't score a single point.

I know Vega is young and improving, but I think his match up with Hardy is an outlier.

He beat Bailey in OT. He beat Ryan Jack 2-0. 5-0 against Josh Saunders. He has 4 bonus point wins, 2 of them against Hardy.

I predict Echemendia wins on Sunday.

And how many times has Davis been pinned compared to how many Hardy has?

Davis was pinned by Bouzakis last year

Hardy pinned by Vega this year

That's it for both of them.

So say Davis has a habit of getting put on his back is the same as saying Hardy gets put on his back.

Davis throws himself to his back often --- meaning he gives up back points often, even if it doesn't result in him being pinned.

He did look more like himself tonight after waking up halfway through the match.

Penn State should have been penalized a team point for the kick his opponent gave him after being pinned.

They did take away a team point from them.
