Well, as discussed, literally the only publicity put out by the organizers is a press release giving the schedule.  Wrestling starts in 10 hours. So I'm doubtful that we'll see the addition of former national champs or number one ranked guys in half the weight classes as we might have had 15 years ago in those 10 hours.  The only positive curveball I'd expect would be a top high schooler or Ono or something like that in a draw. Maybe some kind of separate challenge match, though Askren can't wrestle Herbert like they did years ago. Or as suggested a negative curveball like they're just gonna run the event one last time this year and call it a great run. Regardless thanks to Willie for adding some interest.

Isn’t the midlands an invitational now? So can’t be ono or high school kids then . I you are right that this might be the last one, I can’t think what else it could be

I can't find brackets on line.  Interestingly, though, the Flo webpage says "registration is open through 12/29/2025," so maybe Jax Forrest and/or others might be there in a few hours this morning.

How can he?

He's slated for the Powerade today...

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

There is only one wrestler ranked in the top 10 in the whole tourney.   This event is on  life support and has not survived COVID

Covid didn't help but was on life support long before then. How many Olympians were in the bracket in 2019?

Well then 3 of their "non-starters" are ranked 2nd, 1st and 1st. If you're right, that's a deep team.

yeah I don't read so good

2-3 ranked guys at Midlands, the rest at Scuffle. Some unranked guys at Midlands who would be ranked if they were starters (133, 149, 157).

thanks for the clarification

How do we see the brackets of midlands? Also, how can we get around the UI of the FloArena? Is there a way to see the traditional layout of brackets in trackwrestling ? I hate the Flo brackets so much

Go to trackwrestling.com.

On the top banner/toolbar - select 'classic' as the view.

Click on 'function' on the top middle.

Enter 'midlands' in to the description/name and click search.

Select the appropriate one (the one happening now).

Click the drop down box and select (classic) again.

Applaud rigorously.

Be easier to send a friend to the event, buy the paper bracket, scan it and then mail it to me dont ya think?  🤔

Btw that didn't work it took me to the new stupid Flo brackets.  Prob missed the second "classic" step there's also an "enter" or two or three and then dont forget to rub your magic flo/trk decoder ring.  🤨

Ok got it but you missed about the last four or five steps to actually get to say the 125 bracket.  Think I'll phone my friend and wait for USPS ... no one wrestles here anyway.

Per the midlands championship page , it is being run as an open tournament “limited to post high school competitors “this year due to teams dropping out

I hope folks who watch it enjoy the matches, but it is sad to see how this tournament has plummeted in terms of the level of competition. Same with the Southern Scuffle.  Is the CKLV the toughest in-season tournament apart from National Duals?  Below are the ranked wrestlers at Midlands.

Maybe some has-beens and Old Timers will jump in and field a team: Bruce Baumgartner, Dan Gable, Jim Gibbons, Tim Johnson, John Smith, The Brands Brothers, Wade Schalles ... with Askren as coach
