Who is the most impressive freshman so far?

The most impressive is Duke. The ones who have impressed me the most are Lockett, Vega, Davino, and Blaze.

Vega is on a mega heater and Davino is looking very good, but the others were expected to be in immediate title contention so for this question I feel like they should be "discounted" if that makes sense?

Makes sense. But what has Duke done in collegiate action to make him more impressive than the others? What ranked wins does he have vs. a Vega or Davion?

Sergio is the most impressive relative to expectation going into the season. Marcus I believe has been the most impressive when accounting for overall perceived separation from his opponents so far.

Duke has a very impressive win vs Lehigh's Logan Rozynski (ranked 10th? at the time) and a win yesterday over Stanford's highly ranked Daniel Cardenas.

I voted for Blaze based on 100 percent bonus.

I would say slight edge to Blaze over Davino.  

As for beating expectations, Joy and Vega.

Lockett has impressed me the most. His skill set and athletism make him enjoyable to watch.  Vega also is fun. I'm judging on what I see in them as a wrestler, not based on performance if that makes sense.

Duke is relative, because his potential is just that: potential.

And I say with all my conviction that PJ Duke may be the first undefeated freshman since Imar and well on his way to chasing four... and Carl. It's a long season but maybe, just maybe, he may be that dude. He might lose in the blood round. Neither result or anything in between would surprise me.
