What I found interesting after watching the match (and this is likely, again, due to my lack of international watching) was that the cradle was right there, yet her opponent never reached for her head or neck. I think I remember someone saying back when Keegan O’Toole won a world gold (via cradle) that most other countries don’t train or look for cradles.

I'm not in the know much at all on international WFS, but, is it odd that Kennedy Blades got pinned? I only know her from domestic events she's competed in, and she is always nails/looks unbeatable. Was that something that was expected (maybe not the pin, but people that can beat her), or was this an anomoly? Just curious.

Any reason we wouldn't? That's the premier match, imo...

I’m sure there was a topic (or multiple) about this already and I’m super late to the party, but rewatching it now… I love this series and that it’s on YouTube! My freshman year of HS we had a girl on our team that everyone beat the sh*t out of. I was always so impressed at her resilience. I’ll be honest that I was the only one (that I knew of) that wrestled her not-dirty and didn’t slam her face into the mat at every possible chance. Being a girl dad now, I’m proud of that. Anyway, good watch. I have a ton of respect for Clarissa Chun (coached by one of my idols Sammie Henson), but I want to puke every time she says “women in sport”. It’s “women in wrestling” of “women in sports”. I don’t know why it bothers me so much. Also didn’t realize Bella Mir is Franks daughter. Kind of feel for her…don’t think she knows where she wants to go or how she wants to live her life in general (especially after her loss to a major underdog). Seems like there are some self esteem issues there.

Man, I sure hope so. It seems like we finally have more than one gun, if Mendoza/Rath/Stillwell’s past accomplishments translate well. I’m hopeful (but am not confident) that Walker and Mauger can get past R16. Hopefully Zan can return to his AA form. Mendoza is very capable of AAing and if Rath is healthy, he could be dangerous. I may not get my wish of never seeing Conway in the lineup again. Steed has two more years and if Sinclair can learn how to penetrate Ferrari’s knee wrestling, I think he’s at the top of the podium come March. Hopefully Geog benefits from the change of scenery. And Stoner I think is in the same bucket at Walker/Mauger. I hope Stillwell is the real deal.

I hope for the best for him. I think if anyone can pull it out of him, DT’s a good one to do it. He definitely has the talent and I’d love nothing more than to see him turn that corner. Hell, he beat Caliendo last year. He’s no scrub by any stretch.

Could, but that assumes MM doesn’t bonus. And I think that’s very unlikely. Here’s a question. What one or two transfers could tip the scale in OSU’s favor? What if they got Sinclair and VRob?

I’ve mentioned this before, but it’s interesting to see the difference in a John Smith recruit (Dee) vs. DT recruits. There’s a specific mentality that DT looks for, and I’m not sure Dee will ever have it.

I agree a big factor is bonus points. That’s been PSU’s dominance factor. For the first time, another coach is pushing it big time (the other coach just so happening to come from PSU). When you watch Stilly Boys videos, DT is constantly preaching it. One episode he let Lockett have it for not pushing for bonus in a dual. It seems like there are certain guys that have it and others don’t. Jax is always pushing. Landon is always pushing. MM obviously is always pushing. This is the thing that always aggravates me about Mizzou (and I feel like started with Mauller and Jacques). Then you get someone like O’Toole and Sinclair who have the mindset to keep scoring. OSU is capable, but a lot will have to go right (seeding, bonus, etc) and a lot will have to go wrong for PSU. Spratley has been in the finals. Jax is an undefeated NC. Raney is unknown but huge ceiling. Vega and Landon are NC’s. Dee beat Caliendo. Norman stayed with Hamiti as a frosh (probably OSU’s only “weak spot”). Berge’s an AA. Merrill is a finalist and Doucet is the highest returning placer. So that’s 5 previous finalists and two more AA’s. Plus high ceilings with Raney and Dee. Aside from LL, (probably) PJ, MM, and Barr, PSU has no guaranteed finalists, imo.

I believe it was confirmed that Nate Diaz ’d during his last fight and he didn’t even get knocked out lol. But yes apparently when you get KO’d it can happen.

Supposedly he told the ref that he sh*t his pants and that’s why he ran out so quick. I question that because of his ego, but he also had his ego crushed when he lost to Wyatt at NCAA’s and still stood there while Wyatt’s hand was raised.

I just think it’s funny he’s talking about Willie’s looks when he’s got a donut around his waste. How do you train for MMA and still have all that pudge? I don’t know. Even though I poke fun at Willie sometimes on here, my defense mode kicks in when somebody talks sh*t about anybody in the wrestling community. F that guy.

Coming from a guy who was never “allowed” to go to Fargo. I’m kidding. Legitimately. Maybe that’s why I’m passionate, and took your post as disrespect. I wrestled Fargo when there was no push out or shot clock. And I think it’s BS. You do you…just trying to have a fun convo with other wrestling fans.

I was referring to calling 4 pushouts complete and utter domination, which I don't think it is. Now if you said he completely shut down Davino's offense and that's tough to do, I would agree. Sumo referred to...I think the pushout rule is completely and utterly stupid and shows no wrestling skill whatsoever. It was put in place to avoid passivity/encourage action. They should have taken it out when they introduced the shot clock. And I know you didn't refer to it, but I referred to folk because a lot of people seem to think this match reflects on Ono's ability to wrestling in the NCAA (ie. He can win a natty because he beat Davino). If the B10 final goes the way this one did, Ono wouldn't have scored any points (no pushout), forcing a 0-0 OT. Then riding comes into play.

Yes. And did you hear her say they need to call that move the Foxcatcher because Chanel/Sparks said Dave Schultz used to do that all the time? Does she not know what happened at foxcatcher?! If it wasn’t obvious that she’s a donut, that would have been even more classless than it was! I’d much rather have Willie sitting there commentating, but he’s not as pretty as her.
