I think you give Ryder benefit of the doubt in the Cornell match.

Ryder lost to Allred who lost to Mantanona whose only loss is to Sinclair.Mantanona should be above Ryder and Allred

Also why would you give him the benefit of the doubt? He lost to unranked guy who then lost to an unranked guy his next match. Ryder is 2-3 and in theory both of those unranked guys should be ahead of him

I disagree on it being negative wrestling, especially since he creates offense from there.  But if they call him for stalling, he'll just adjust.  It's what we see him do every time he faces adversity.

I don’t think it’s stalling if he’s actually creating shots from there

4-2 VS Ryder
3-2 VS Sinclair (OT)
4-1 VS Fishback (OT)

That is creating offense for you?

He beat Jaxon Smith at the ASC in a very convincing manner.

If you read what I put... I had him Ryder behind Allred who was behind Mantanona.

Completely missed Mantanona on that list my bad…that being said the All star is an exhibition match that doesn’t even register on wrestlestat I don’t think that should hold more weight then losing to an unranked guy at the duals

Flo, Intermat, and CWR all use it for their rankings.

Did you watch the match against Cornell?  That wasn't a match.

Yes, it is hard to score against high level opponents.  He's shooting from that position and getting to legs and wrestlers are getting to his legs.

He wasn't shooting, though.

Not in those matches.

Now, he was controlling center pretty well.  I will give him that.  Not the entire matches, but for a good part of it.

Is it like putting your arm behind your back isn’t stalling stalling?   Or that super powerful offensive ankle ride?

The ankle ride is stalling.  No question about it.

Just like Caliendo was called for it against Locket.

The arm behind the back was also stalling on RBY's part, yes.

Locket stalled roughly 1/3rd of the time the match was in neutral against Caliendo.

How does Welsh move ahead of Ferrari after an undefeated weekend where he beat Sinclair and Ryder? Maybe if Rocco was there we could’ve declared a number 1. Your HC avoiding high level competition doesn’t grant you the number one spot. Sorry.

High level competition? Weren’t 7 of their starters just wrestling in the U23 worlds a few weeks ago lol

My thoughts exactly.  And another 1/3 of the time was spent trying to influence the officials.

Nah.  Whistle was dead when he was doing that.  Doesn't count.  At least not in my timeline.

Also doesn't count for Folkstyle.  You can compare certain aspects, but Welsh against Jaxon Smith, for example?  In two matches, Jaxon Smith got the only takedown that would be considered a takedown in Folkstyle.  Rest were stepout or activity points aside for a 4pt move by Welsh that wouldn't have been worth anything in Folkstyle.

This arm behind the back was called ?   When?

The ankle stall ride was called against caliendo sure.  But the offensive juggernaut 5x er how often?   Only bringing up your 5x offensive juggernaut as you put 184 ncaa freshmen title contenders “lack of offense” on the table.

Who is my 5x offensive juggernaught?

You still not reading good, are you?  There seems to be something that you want to conveniently ignore, because it must disappoint you so:  I am not a Penn State fan.  I wrestled for Michigan in the 1980s.

Just like in the other thread(s?), you're being an ignorant, bitter little prince.

Also, was RBY called?  Nope.  I think he should have been.  Wasn't, though.

Iowa fans always thought that was stalling, but no refs ever agreed with them.

Sucks to say it because I thought Ryder would have done a lot better this weekend, but it’s early and I like DT’s approach that “it’s early and he’s young”. He’ll have him ready by March.

1) Ferrari

2) Welsh

3) Sinclair

4) McEnelly

5) Fishback

6-8) Alred/Dean/Ryder

This is the list imo

NHs67 agrees it was stalling

Too bad for Iowa fans he was never able to call it during an RBY win over Desanto cause then maybe Austin could have won on the strength of that kind of call.

Lockett was doing nothing so Caliendo was doing nothing.  Locket was on all fours not trying to improve. Hardly lifted his hands off the mat.  He didn't know who to call but the ankle ride is visible while Locket saving energy is subjective.

And any unfavorable results at the “high level competition” worlds don’t affect NCAA rankings or future seeds like they would at this event.
