It was always OK State. Let's not kid.

Pyles and the rest of the Flo gang predicted PSU. Willie and Basch also predicted PSU. That leads me to believe they have some inside knowledge. I think it is PSU, but there's a chance today's news changes things

but cant afford flights? Hmm

The money was supposed to come in next week; they wanted the flights weeks ago.  Probably as a courtesy, plus 'the more money you have, the more free stuff you get.'  Probably expected free flights, bc someone was paying for Jax.

After the house settlement, NIL is supposed to go through a Clearinghouse, no? Wouldn't that make 7 figure deal highly unlikely for a wrestler?

The Bassetts to Paycom or Ira - "so technically we signed that Iowa contract before the settlement, so we can just transfer that, right?"

Or... you could have kept your mouths shut, listen to the coaches, and generally perform as relatively normal parents and student athletes...

Athletes can still get NIL deals outside of the school collective... "Bo Knows Used Cars of Nebraska" could still happen out side of any school payment. Since most wrestling programs won't really share in that pot of money from their school, they will have to depend on what they have already been depending on- outside NIL deals from donors.

The NIL deals outside of the school's revenue sharing are the exact ones that need to be approved by the Deloitte NIL clearinghouse. School revenue sharing does not have to be approved. School collectives are treated the same as the former.

Yes -True - but athletes are not limited to just what the school is going to pay out to them, which in the case of wrestling will be nothing in most cases - as we all know.  Compared to what the arbitrator will see in football cases, the wrestling cases will be peanuts, which I hope results in few obstacles for wrestling

The whole arbitrator thing seems completely counterintuitive to why NIL was started in the first place. I can’t imagine that sticks around for very long.

depends what your (personal) values are.

do you think it's fine to just throw bags of cash?

or do you think monetary offers should be tied to reality?

not saying there's a right answer. but there's certainly a right answer based on what's best for DI wrestling.

The reality is something is “worth” what someone is willing to pay, IMO

Yes, in a pure capitalistic sense...but our sport really exists (in modern times) on the largesse of other sports.  Sports socialism, if you will.

Free markets exist in Every college town.  If your n or i or L can generate a business $$$$ they will pay you.  You could go to psu and get some guy in Texas to have uou bbq commercials of that guy thinks you would up his sales.   The sky to what they can make is infinity as it pertains to how well they sell themselves.

I know d1 kids who sell shirts and other stuff.   Ever see That super cringe vid of Aj Ferrari selling some steaks on insta.   No way some business didn’t pay him for that.
