The best part about these updates is that Askren still seems like Askren. Sharp, thoughtful, smart. Sounds more or less like the Ben we know, which is great to hear.

A free college wrestling forum at this level should make sure this wrestlers struggle to survive remains at the forefront. Ben Askren deserves our support. You guys are great.

This whole episode has got me thinking about perspectives.  There's a lot of happiness that Ben had a successful lung transplant, but it also mean that some unknown person definitely died (probably young and probably tragically).

A good time for all to make sure their ID reflects DONOR. If so the chances your eyes, lungs and whatever possible can be used to help others since you will not be needing them any longer.

I 100% agree that everyone who feels being a donor is a good idea should register as a donor.

But let's not oversimplify this. It's not necessarily for everyone. It is a personal choice and can be a spiritual one.

I understand your sentiment and respect it. But at the same time - we should make room for all perspectives.

What an insane nearly 2 months it's been. It's amazing to see how good of spirits he seems to be in, as well as how much he has improved in the past couple of weeks.

He's a fighter.   Very good to see his progress.   He has a positive outlook on life and that carries through to what it takes for his remarkable recovery.   I'll bet he is just happy to be home even though life is still a challenge for him.
