I think he would have gotten beaten by the top 3 last year, but who beats him this year? Looking forward to his matches against Feldman and Catka

Ben Kueter with a functioning hip

That won't be next year. Being able to compete again and being 100% are two separate things.

Until we see him at 240lbs and functional, I am not quite ready to annoint him unbeatable.

I could see any of these guys keeping it a one score, or zero takedown match.Screenshot_20250607_211604_Chrome.thumb.jpg.d137af85058d52a5ee59b2ca91229ff1.jpg

Doucet, Mirasola, Hopke, Attao, Amos, Carroll, and a few others are also wildcards, too.

I believe if he is as functional (or better), then he'll likely drop a match or two he probably shouldn't, but ultimately be one of the favorites going in to NCAAs - as I don't see anybody he can't beat right now.

Bastida

Do you think ESPN will show the clip of Ferrari grabbing Bastida’s junk if they wrestle in the finals?

I’d take Bastida over him also.

It will be the year of the light heavyweight with Gable, Hendricksen and Kirkvleit all gone.

Any chance Gable can get another year of eligibility at Little Rock?

I would have payed so much money to watch Schultz and Ferrari. I mean yeah, Focus would probably have more points in the board but I have a hunch that Schultz would have been extra dirty pounding him like a hooker in Columbus

I predict that Cole Marisola will beat Ferrari if they wrestle. Ferrari is not a technically sound wrestler and has gaps in his arsenal, such as not being skilled in turning, especially a heavyweight.

He lost to Huffman and Feldman what makes you think he can beat AJ...

Not technically sound?  Wrestled for some of the best high school coaches in the country and then went and was coached by John Smith.  NCAA champ and age group world medalist! Not technically sound?

He's actually about as sound as you could possibly be. He's incredibly "competent" at all three positions, he just doesn't score a lot, but thats not what being "sound" is.

Exactly. I'm waiting for a response like "he wrestles from his knees."

some people seem to really underestimate how difficult college wrestling is.

Would love to have the data to answer this.  But common.  Directionally accurate lie here …. At the ncaa tourney there are 0 NF points in the hwt bracket.  Saying ford pinto is poor technically and has “no turns” or whatever he said is nonsense.  There are some 5x ncaa champs with no turns too….

I don't understand this. Cole might actually be smaller than Ferrari, and I don't see anyway that he scores a takedown in that match. Ferrari is literally the epitome of a technically sound wrestler. His gaps might be in his variety of offense, but he is as technically sound as they come.

Going through the brackets, Carter had more NF points than the champs at 125, 133 and 141 combined. Adding in 149, they tied, but the 149 champ got turned in round 1. Carter had more points, net and overall, from turns than the 125, 133, 141 and 149 champs combined.

I’m a PSU fan and I’d love to dunk on Ferrari but he’s a very technically sound wrestler. Incredibly hard to score on and wrestles his own match. He will also be bigger than Mirasola.

Mirasola will have a difficult time cracking that egg.

Not sure what this has to do with Caveira's point. You don't need to be able to turn on top to win a National title. How many career nearfall points/pins did Kyle Snyder have?
