I do not like this deal where medalists from non-olympic weights are allowed to cut in line at a different weight. If you want to change weights, you should start in the main bracket.

...but the rules are too arcane. For instance: 1. If the ultimate goal of any wrestling is to pin their opponent, then why have a rule set that discourages pinning? If you turn a person and try to pin them, but don't, you only get two points. If you let up and bring them to the mat again, you get two more points, but there is no reward for holding your opponent on his or her back for the entire period! 2. Why are there replays when there is a mat judge and a referee? 3. The explanation for being put on the clock I continue to not understand. 4. Takedowns require control in both freestyle and foldstyle. I understand why control is the key in folkstyle, but control plays no role in freestyle, except in this one instance. To me that is inconsistent. 5. Finally, I have been watching wrestling since HS in the mid-sixties and I must admit I still do totally understand freestyle wrestling. And I bet most of the fans watching the OTT don't either.

Is anyone else confused by the way matches have been presented in the OTT? Why did Nick Lee and Zain finish before this evening? I think the brackets are confusing. Overall, I would say the way Peacock presented things, who could follow the proceedings without Trackwrestling?

I have tried, but I just don't like Greco-Roman, especially at the heavier weights. The lighter weights do some decent throws, but the heavier weights just push and push and push. Just not very compelling - actually boring. The women have been stellar.

Forget NIL and everything about money. This tread is about wrestling skill, not money. I am trying to compare the skills of both and what might happen in the room. To expand, in my mind SVN is a brawler who has good enough skills to wear an opponent down then finish him off. I believe Kasak is a more skilled young wrestler who does not rely on brute force.

I am not saying he will beat SVN for the starting spot since most feel Kasak will redshirt. But in the room...?

IMO, for the pushout to work and keep folkstyle edge wrestling, it needs to be both feet out, not just on the line.

If a move cannot be determined by two officials, in my mind that's a problem. Why is there a need for reviews when there are two officials?

I have been there twice for the championships and it is the best venue. Everything is walking distance. Let's see how difficult Philly will be next year. The city is not easy to navigate.

Yes, finally someone who gets it. This is not about free speech. Of course Brooks or anyone else can say what he wants and I don't have to listen. But the interviews should be about the sport. And I have stopped listening to Brook's interviews. I just had no idea that Greg Kerkvliet was going to launch into a Brooks-type interview. I will make it a point not to listen to his interviews in the future.
