Right decision. Can’t run into the stands and hit a minor. In life there are consequences for one’s actions. If he wasn’t a prominent wrestler, the penalty would have been harsher.

I believe in second chances. Hope he learns from his mistakes and wins multiple titles.

I followed the story but didn't know he hit a minor, but most kids in high school are under 18. To him, it's just another kid in with middle of the chaos. From what I gathered from afar, he ran into the ruckus that his dad was in like most people would. I don't see an issue. I never heard about him badly hurting someone.

Are you coming at this from the perspective of past issues with Knox, or are you looking at this lone situation for what it is? I'm not from NJ, so I don't really understand why he has the bad boy persona.

As far as I know, as a Jersey shore ex-pat, Knox never had a bad boy reputation before this.

In the case of Knox are they calling the 2nd place guy the champ or is it just vacated?

Think it's just vacated.  But as far as everyone is concerned, he's a 4x champ.

Saw that Shane Sparks said that’s what he’d refer to him as.

I understand both sides.  They wrestled the matches and he won.  But he probably shouldn’t have been allowed to.   Getting a suspension for fighting is pretty standard.  Trying to charge him was over the top though IMO.

Part of me thinks the family knew it would end like this, but actually getting to wrestle the matches erases any  "what could've been" as far as Anthony being a 4xer.  Like yeah, take the bracket back, but the only people who will consider him a 3xer are NJSIAA historians.

How many Tours de France did Lance Armstrong win?

That was cheating that directly led to his success and then he kept lying about it.

I think a better analogy would be asking something like whether Reggie Bush ever won a Heisman trophy.  Unlawful conduct that is unrelated to performance of the sport itself seems to a sensible distinction to make when considering the gray area of whether to honor someone's past accomplishments.  To me Knox is a four timer.  You can make your own judgment.  I don't consider his transgression to be worthy of canceling his accomplishments.

Well to be fair Lance just cheated better than the rest.

Can you say "3x" and be happy for him?

😉

Let's see what his Rutgers profile says.

They can always include that he, "...reached the championship match in his weight-class at the New Jersey State Championships in each of his four years of high school and had his hand raised after all four of his finals matches."

Reggie Bush is a Heisman winner and never awarded but Pete Rose is a Hall of Famer

Did OJ get his Heisman revoked when he murdered his wife and her "friend"?

Just sayin.

Bios on university rosters are notoriously incorrect...

there is as much fact checking in a ton of wrestling bios as happens on this forum...

even more amusing are the bios of much less accomplished wrestlers coming out of HS...

it is a bit of a thing for a buddy and i...

we still regularly joke about the Pre-Turkey champ accolades for a former D1 wrestler...

So Rutgers, a state college, isn't adhering to a state issued court mandate?

That tracks as a New Jersey thing to do.

I've always felt like once you play the game or wrestle the match it doesn't matter, we all know who won and the loser sure as hell probably doesn't feel like a winner. At least I wouldn't.
