Why did this scene just pop into my head after reading your response?

You know it's valid.  He was there for everything for that match, despite being undersized compared to Buchanan and appearing much slower.

Now, if Buchanan is able to make the same ground as Barr for their next match, that gap might widen.  If he can utilize his size and speed advantage, it might go better for him than if Barr can simply get our five seconds sooner.

I don't know.  That's why they wrestle the matches.

I expect Barr to close the gap and possibly beat Buchanon the next time they wrestle. I'm sure Cael identified his weaknesses against Buchanon.

Will be interesting!  Needs some new strategies to get off bottom more quickly and shut down Buchanan's first move to get out from under.  Its a different match in 3rd without riding time lead.

Its pretty pathetic to makes up something "everyone" is doing. Not every conversation is a vehicle for you to get attention.

I’m wondering if Barr was one of the guys to catch the flu last. Cael mentioned that he didn’t have his usual pace in his weekly media scrum.

Kerk and SVN were sick a couple weeks ago. SVN looked spectacular against Parco after not having his usual motor against Lovett. Kerk looked great after not looking good against Andrews and Slavikouski.

Definitely. I think Barr is going to get a lot of work from the bottom in the next couple weeks in practice. I've seen this kind of thing before with Cael's wrestlers. Remember Vincenzo Joseph's matches against IMAR?

I thought the gap might've been largely attributed to size and physicality, which is not easy to overcome at this point of the season. But I hope for a good rematch.

Barr is a 184 pounder.  I expect to see him there next season after Starocci leaves.

I think Ryder will be there, and Barr continues to grow into 197.

Hot take but I don’t think the Mirasola’s end up seeing the mat much. The bigger one is going to be a tiny heavyweight and the smaller one will lose to Barr. There are certainly people with more insight than me into that room, but from an outside perspective that’s what I’m leaning toward.

I believe Josh stays at 197 for next season. Staying at 197 will allow Barr to continue to add good weight (he has mentioned he cuts a few pounds to make 197) while still being able to cut down to 86 kg for freestyle events. I believe wrestling 184 is less optimal for his freestyle pursuits as a cut down to 86kg from 197 seems like a better strategy than wrestling as a small (relatively) 86kg'er who comes up from 184 lbs. Cutting to 86 kg while wrestling 197 was successful for Bo and Aaron. Even Taylor was cutting a lot of weight at the end to make 86 kg.

Nobody said "everyone is doing" it except you. You missed the point entirely.

Pay attention, read before you post, give it some effort - or you'll keep looking like a babbling idiot.

Like everything else, if you're going to do it - it's worth it to put in some effort and try to do it right.

Bo Nickal was undersized at 197.

Substance? Carrot top? wtf?

You're kind of like the Oompa Loompa of not being able to see above your nose.

I called you out on your ongoing BS above - "Posted Wednesday at 09:23 PM"

That's the one where your post was BS, and you were a babbling idiot (which is at least consistent.)

You're certainly a dim bulb - 25% at best.

Dopes like you keep posting with no substance, then singing the 'you have no substance' tune. You're pathetic.

It saddens me but I'm fairly confident in Ferrari being the favorite, I don't want him to win but his style just works.  Never get out of position, be patient, score with quick attacks that aren't conducive to counters, always get out from bottom quickly, stall ride for that RT point when needed.

Agree that Ferrari's style seems to translate well when the stakes get higher, but I'm still anxious to see him against some of the top-tier at 197 (Barr, Cardenas, Buchanan). We have not really seen him yet against the best guys, and I'm curious how his conditioning will be in those matches. If anyone remembers the match against Glazier last year before the splits and double-birds, he was definitely sucking wind at the end of that match.
