UNI with the big upset win 24-9. Pretty impressive performance as a team. Flo had them ranked 8th and Nebraska ranked 4th in the dual rankings. Their next big test is at home against Ok St on the 24th

Quite the performance for UNI. Runyon wrestling 165 as a true FR, 174 as a fresh and soph, hurt last year, and now wrestling well at 285 is crazy.

The crazy thing is it could've been worse.  Last year, Farber beat Van Dee 8-1 in this dual.  And Nebraska's other two wins were razor thin (12-9 and 6-5).

Nah not really that surprising amiright 🙂 ?

Interesting that Keckeisen had the only bonus points of the whole dual

Whats interesting about it? Its not an anomaly, you have a thought you're not saying?

Moreso the lack of bonus points in general.  It is not super common for only one bout to have bonus…

well its an ultra well coached team against a higher tier team that could be described as steady/complacent, it only hedges towards bonus when the well coached team's stud shows up.

Was the ref late starting swipes when Realbuto had Lovett in danger first time after reversal not at end?

I just watched.  In my professional opinion, he was about a second late starting his count.  He made sure the reversal points were presented very clearly, but it seemed this took about one second from the time criteria was met.  He was not in criteria until his left shoulder was on the mat.  One elbow doesn't do it.

That being said, the ref is far better than I am and has much better mechanics, while I have access to instant replay.

I watched this match and this match only; did UNI not have a challenge left? I get that it was "early" in the dual but smoke 'em if you got 'em, Schwab.

Under review, it may have been close.  I assume they have better video and time stamps down to tenths of a second, so that helps.

I never saw a green brick even in the 174 when Pinto had Simma's second ankle for like maybe a second or less real time and got the TD. Coach was verbal never threw the brick

Maybe some coaches believe in wrestling.  Schwab was always a non stop grind you tell you die guy on the mat.  Why would he want to give the guy a brick lung timeout?
