Rumors are that Rocco Welsh is out of Columbus. Done deal.

Where are some possible landing spots?

OKSt, VT, Rutgers have seniors at 174.

any rumors why?

I think the rumor is that he wanted to go at 174 this year

assuming PSU is out given lineup stuff (probably not a good assumption) given his freestyle aspirations I think Okie state is the best landing spot. Perhaps Iowa will shill out the most money but I will be cheering for an okie state landing spot however my favorite destination would be him staying at Ohio State. I do believe Ladarion is probably not long for weekly weigh ins at 165 so I would imagine Rocco will still need to go up to 184 at some point for okie state. They also have Brayden Thompson who would occupy 174/184 so it may just be that Dee has to cut weight for awhile or Thompson is SOL.

thats kind of odd, spot seems "open" by conventional standards.

Oklahoma State

Take it for what it’s worth, but Mineo posted Welsh was in Okie State this past weekend. Could be a sign if true.

If this is indeed true I’m going to need a tall glass of whiskey. Not good for my Buckeyes.

If he's not wrestling this year, Okie State makes a bunch of sense.  Unfortunately, this doesn't stop Ok State from still going after any of the big recruits coming down the pike.

But may deter some upper-middle weight recruits from going there with a national finalist with 3 years of eligibility remaining.

Bucks can't catch a break.

And no, I can't see why he would go to Iowa. Why not throw Arizona a bone?

Michigan might be a good landing spot just in terms of NIL potential

Agree with UM. Would be wild to have Rocco and Gabe in the same room, though. I'd rather see him land somewhere like Pitt or WVU just cuz.
