This entire thread: "What about government waste?"

Rock Lobster: "Misinformation is a big problem"

You need to work on your attention span.

See later in my post where I completed my point - I'll repost it for those with short attention spans:

Misinformation is a tremendously huge problem in the US (and in other countries as well.)

Remember when the Biden administration announced they were going to create an anti-misinformation group to combat misinformation?

Fox News and the Republicans (in that order) went absolutely nuts against the idea.

They didn't like misinformation either, but they absolutely couldn't accept the Democrats in charge of fixing it.

Do you see all the parallels here, and there are many, bird brain?

The problem here isn't about the concept of fixing government waste.
The problem then wasn't about the concept of fixing misinformation.

The problem here is about the people who are being assembled to somehow "fix" government waste.
The problem then was about the people who were being assembled to somehow "fix" misinformation.

Is it clear now what I was saying about the "parallels here"? There are actually more, but this is the most basic of them.

By the way, in case you forgot, you were the one who called me a bird brain earlier in this thread. I post it to remind you.

how does this happen?

in addition to gov't waste and term limits, also high on my wish list is that we stop funding NATO, WHO, World Bank, etc.

it's a total grift.

So what does one of these 80+ hour per week, as yet unfunded, government jobs pay?

I see people and media outlets claiming the answer is zero based on this comment from Musk, but it’s not clear to me if he is just referring to himself here

I think we should revamp the arrangement of NATO.  With China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea joining force it’s on our fellow members to step up.  The UN and WHO have long moved past the worthless stage and into the more harm than good stage.

It's just a shame that we are going to lose so many posters on this message board. With working 80+ hours at their volunteer positions there just won't be any time for this tomfoolery.

And I know you guys will heed the call, right?

Drowning in data, but thirsting for knowledge

Good morning. I was wondering if I could get your thoughts on John Hart the CEO of watch dog "OPEN The Books". Thanks

It is just crazy how easy it is to lose track of other people's money.  How many of these World bank bureacrats are going to jail until they find the money?  Zero, zip, nada.  These people have authority with no accountability.  Lose a billion dollars or two - get a face tattoo from Bruno while he's prettying you up to be his new cell-wife.  That might focus some World Bank Bureaucrat attention!

Here's an idea:  all of those IRS agents hired by Biden in one of his bloat bills should be deputized to Vivek and Musk.  They should start going after swampie bureacrats like they go after citizens right now.  Freeze all the assets of the agency in question until they can account for every penny spent over the past 7 years.  They get to spend no other money until everything is cleared up.  If they are not able to clear it up then they get to go to jail for tax fraud.  In this case not the fraud of underpaying taxes but the fraud of not using taxes properly.  Let's dust off the logic of the case against Al Capone:  you live like a rich man therefore you must have income yet you paid no taxes.  GO TO JAIL.  For the swampies:  we gave you untold billions yet you have nothing to show for it therefore you must have stolen it or wasted it negligently.  Criminally negligently.  GO TO JAIL.

Before we get too carried away with our excitement over something we know nothing about...

"how does this happen?"

should really be preceded by:

"did this actually happen - or is it a headline I reacted to without any knowledge whatsoever?"

That would be a better place to start.

NATO is the defensive barrier that keeps it all from potentially falling apart. This is the group that protects all of us. Every single one of us.

I had no idea you were a DEFUND THE GROUP THAT PROTECTS US type of guy.

You are starting to sound just like the idiots who want to defund the police. Same stupid logic, same stupid conclusion.

Use your brain - NATO, just like Law Enforcement, protects US citizens. (Stop acting like an extreme lefty in a march.)

As far as finances go - just like the police, we negotiate it and figure it out.

But any notion of defunding is beyond stupid.

I’ve see that floating around.   The absolute arrogant government smugness in her voice….   They feel entitled to be awful don’t they.   Most city workers I know sure do.   Teachers especially.

The slime oozing out of this swampie is disgusting.  Drain, drain, drain the swamp.  Good for Stewart to push back by basically saying "audit failing swampies don't get to lecture on semantics".

My question was "did this actually happen..." (quoted below with full text.) I've had enough experience with suckers who buy into garbage they read on the internet and get excited over nothing.

You posted some junk links and absolutely no reply to what I asked.

Your silence says it all.

(Note the dollar amount on the random accusations... plus or minus $17 billion !?!  or 10x more)

If you ever needed a reason to distrust a web site, it's when they have a margin of error in the 100's of billions of dollars.
