Think he will qualify?  If so, will the weight be watered down? A world title is still a title no matter who shows up.

Agree it's still a title, and there are always a ton of tweeners shut out due to stupid Olympic weights. If he wins it, I hope we don't discount it like Stieber's 2016 title.

Where does he say he is making another run?  Not doubting it, cannot find it.

He won't have the same pep in the step but who knows.  Maybe he will get a "leave your shoes on the mat" moment.

Has there ever been a wrestler in USAW history that is as competitive as this guy? He has had nothing left to prove for a decade and still goes out there every chance he gets. Without a doubt, the greatest American wrestler of this generation.

That'd be my pick.

In my mind burroughs coming back means one of two things. 1) His wife is annoying the hell out of him and he needs to get out of the house, 2) he's done the appropriate amount of soul searching and is highly motivated.

The obvious retort would be that he was obviously as motivated when marstellar beat him last time, but I'm not sure thats the case. He was already locked on for last cycle, the decision to come back now, when a failed comeback could tarnish his legacy more than adding another world gold, makes me think he's doing it for the right reasons, and sense he's one of the best competitors we've ever had I assume he'll win.

Maybe #1 is why he went to France so this is #2.  🤷‍♀️

Is it really a comeback?  He just competed 4 months ago, and never announced he was retiring did he?

He did however seem to imply he would retire before 2028 by seemingly committing to commentate for LA.

Honestly, I think the biggest thing is he wants to retire on his terms. He wasn’t giving that hostile Penn state crowd the satisfaction at OTT. He’s already got himself in excellent shape, so why not try to end on a high note of maybe winning another world title? He believes he’s capable, and I don’t doubt him

The way I look at it is at 74kg which I personally think Jordan has grown out of and is not optimal at he still beat rather badly the u20 champ and lost narrowly to a guy who is probably around top 10 at 74kg. being its a none olympic weight 79kg will be pretty weak this year both domestically and internationally his biggest tests in the US I think would be Chance if he drops down, KOT if he wrestles (I don't think he will), David Carr (probably too small). I did not mention Carter because I would guess hes too big if he plans on going 184/197. Internationally it will be Nohkodi who's number Jordan has to this point and usmanov.

I would guess that Marstellar and Dierringer will be the biggest tests domestically. Would be interesting to see Starocci, KOT and Carr in the field. I would think that Carr will want to make a freestyle career at 74kg though.

Anyone know if Nolf will be done competing after his move to TX? If he is still competing, he could be in the mix at 79kg also.
