Honest question, who besides cinnabon, doesnt hope AJ gets enrolled at Iowa?

Recommended Posts

I don't like him, its looking more likely that he's a bad person, but that doesn't mean I should hope he doesn't get to wrestle.

And Thats not my primary reason I'm hoping he get enrolled, mainly it would just be a lot of fun, and I want to see him wrestle hidlay and brooks.

If all he did were goofy antics on the mat, sure I'd agree. But given the past accusations and the actions he's documented to have done (with his driving and guns), I don't think he should be on a college campus. There could be a number of people negatively impacted by his presence there... and for whose gain? Our entertainment?

fair enough, but i'd point out that there is no reason to think he'll do less damage  to the world if he's not allowed on a college campus. In all likelyhood it would be an incentive to do less damage.

That said, if someone said his issues should disqualify him from the privilege of college athletics, i woudn't disagree.

I must confess, part of me wants to see them at Iowa because it will no doubt be a wild freak-fest full of bonkers stories. At the same time, it won't be good for Iowa, and while I'm not a big Iowa fan, I don't want to see a premiere program -- or any program for that matter -- suffer due to maladjusted, ignorant, petty goons like the Ferarris.

On one side of the coin the circus show will be fun to watch and there could be some good match-ups with Hidlay and Brooks..... on the other side of the coin is Iowa finishing 6th without a trophy..... hard decision.

As far as we know there’s nothing from a legal perspective preventing him from being a college wrestler. And peoples perception really (shouldn’t) doesn’t matter. This is why NASCAR is so popular. People want to see the bad boy race, crash and burn.  Pro wrestling continues to be popular and Villains are a huge part of it.  Let it happen.

……. and for those that want to play the “this is different because it’s college sports”. Sorry, that ship has sailed too.

I don't like him.  My unsolicited clinical opinion he is a sociopath who never learned a single consequence in his life.  He is a scandalous, attention-seeking bully.  He is bad for the NCAA, Iowa and college wrestling.  Sadly, there is a growing culture of nimrods who support his conduct.  People like this perish by their own sword.

Growing culture? This type of personality and culture has been around forever. The only difference is that there are cameras now.

Yes, a growing culture who lack manners, couth, respect and moral fortitude.  I remember,  back in 1981, when Gary Templeton of the St. Louis Cardinals grabbed his crotch on the field, directing it to the fans.  Then manager, Whitey Herzog, ran onto the field, grabbed Templeton by the neck and removed him from the field and lineup.  The next day he was traded to San Diego Padres for Ozzie Smith.  The difference  is people are more accepting of (and find entertainment value) in this type of behavior. These personalities may have existed long ago however, the nuns, stern WWII fathers and two parent households  kept them in check.  Ferrari's behavior should not be normalized or accepted.

I don't want him to wrestle, especially for my favorite team.

The stuff about program's crashing and burning and/or recruiting taking a hit is more wishcasting.  People want those things to happen, but they won't.  I just don't see a path for Iowa to retake the top spot on any sort of consistent basis given the monster Penn State has built.

If he starts for the Hawkeyes will you boo when he takes the mat?
