Lame.   Are you are saying in some cases like this, maybe adults buying a small amount of drugs for personal use, people deserve to be shot?  Awesome.

You are dealing with illegal substances and criminals - you deserve whatever happens.

The Cartels would be out of business if they did not have a steady stream of customers for their product. Get rid of the junkies - serious or recreational - and the drug probem ends. if they all have to get shot to end it - good riddance.

They commit so many other crimes to get and use this illegal crap we would benefit if they all died overnight.

You feel the same way about alcoholics, Agave?

Alchol is legal - but alcoholics... yes. Grew up with the drunken child/spouse beating bastards. They are worse than junkies as they are so often excused for their killings and damage while drunk.

If the government followed a model like Portugal, decriminalized drugs and treated drug addiction like a health problem, the cost of doing so would be roughly 1/4 the cost of what is spent on enforcement, court costs and incarceration of people who are drug addicts. Not to mention the other associated crimes like theft, etc.

You are right if this happened, the cartels would crater financially pretty quickly.

The results in Portugal have been staggering, and just another demerit on America's "War on Drugs."

It isn't perfect there. Dug addicts exist and there are problems. Some people don't want help or whatever. But it is better than making lifelong criminals and taking away chances for people who get busted with small amounts. Take away the incentive for the cartels, tax it or better yet deal it yourself. The cartels would move to something else but taking away their trade of opioids would ruin them.

It's too bad nobody running for president has the stones to say this.

Yes the results have been staggering...and not in a good way. We don't live in a utopia. People that deal/do drugs should face real consequences.

It's not perfect at all, but it's a far better solution with better results than we have here.  I'm going to leave the conversation here, not to avoid it, but this is the wrong forum and I don't want to go into a political or political-adjacent debate in a non-political forum.

@Barracuda141 I tried to add your post into this one to let you know I wasn't avoiding the discussion, but it wouldn't let me do the multiquote for some reason.  People who illicitly deal drugs should face consequences, especially high volume dealers.  People who do drugs should receive treatment if they want it, or be left alone, unless they commit an actual crime with victims, similar to how we treat alcohol.

ETA:  To be clear, Barracuda, this is my opinion on the matter, not me claiming it is a fact.  I think the evidence is with me, but it's still an opinion.

We have decriminalized drugs here in Seattle and decriminalized homeless camping for the most part.   The camps is where many of the addicts live and trash the place.   They are also hubs for criminal activity that isn't being prosecuted.  From my perspective this decriminalization thing isn't working too well, at least not in Seattle or Portland.

The homeless is a protected class that they won't prosecute.   That is the issue.   Drug abuse brings criminal activity.   Many dead people (both overdoses and murder) in the camps and prostitution going on in the camps and other illegal activity.   I don't know they can be separated.

People in Seattle must be fans of The Wire.

Craig Henning got screwed in the 2007 NCAA Finals.

Decriminalize and Legalizing are not the same thing. You legalize the stuff, make inspection for quality and purity mandatory and require Medical scrip to get it.

Taxes and tax enforcement is much more efficient than cops trying to catch people on the street. They got Al Capone on tax fraud.

As for "Medical Marajuana"... when did you ever vote on Penicillin, Viagra or any other "medical" treatment or drug?

License the stuff, put money into real treatment and recognize no matter what some people just won't be helped.

The Cartels can get "legal" supplying to major drug companies, maybe? Still make money and actually become legitimate.

Then the poor souls who get hooked on Oxy from too liberal Doctors won't have to find a neighborhood supplier. Maybe they can get the help needed without the stigma and possible criminal prosecution.

Someone deals illegally - massive punishment enhancements. Mandatory LONG prison terms.

No answer is perfect but what we are doing now is not working - just a full employment for cops, lawyers and judge program.

Better yet. Could've stayed inside his head. The encouraged/rewarded lack of filter is one of the bad side effects of social media.

I mean people are donating 1000s of dollars to his go fund me , he’s probably going to get a sweet NIL deal from the situation, so I would argue that when the wrestling community (not known for being wealthy sport) are donating hard earned money to a cause that the truth is very important

No I don’t I don’t know anymore then the average Joe on the situation which is why I didn’t link it, you were questioning why Joey ward posted it , I would bet he believes it’s true so he put the info out there , he even mentions the nil thing , so if he really believes it to be true for whatever reason why should he have to keep it to himself

Even if you "believe" something to be true does that mean you need to inform the world about your "belief?"

This is exactly the kind of thing I have an issue with.  First you refer to the post as the truth, then you say you don't know. Then you bring up beliefs.

You are amplifying a bunch of crap and speculation like it is truth. But when challenged, immediately back down.

The reason not to post it is because neither he, nor you, KNOWS it to be true. And if you do not know, it is reckless to speculate. And it is especially reckless to refer to it as the truth while speculating, or believing, or assuming someone else believes, or what ever. The desire for clicks and likes is so powerful that guys like Joey post this crap. Allow the police and the courts to determine the truth.

The more important question is, why damage his reputation without knowing the truth?

I'll just say this,  being that it was referenced in this thread a while back.

The whole "drug deal gone bad" metaphor ( and,  yes,  it is that) gets overused and presented as an all-too common thing,  when,  in most cases,  that's not what happened with street violence.

A "drug deal goes bad" when you have two parties making their livings off of drugs. One wants to get his/ her product at no cost or deceitful means,  while the other wants their money,  sometimes through deceitful means.

Bottom line: Sasso isn't making a living off of drugs,  so it was not a "drug deal gone bad." That's just stupid and lazy on Ward and others' parts.

Owner of over two decades of the most dangerous words on the internet!  In fact, during the short life of this forum, me's culture has been cancelled three times on this very site!
