Who said TMS is retiring from wrestling?

She's much too nice to be a part of that entertainment.   I predict she won't last too long.

I think she'd make a good action movie star but it sounds like she wants to go out and "compete" without having to worry about cutting weight. Either way, she has a lot of options available.

Good for TMS. She has enough size and boatloads of personality for pro wrestling. But, as we've seen with Gable, the transition from "real" sports to pro wrestling is not so easy or obvious.

Best of luck to TMS. She is a credit to our sport and country.

Does she act?

She would win at the next higher weight in WFS -- no need to cut.

WWE is not wrestling. It is 'rassl'n' and is for whores of the sport. Yes, some very good wrestlers go that route but it is a sad thing to see.

I expected to read the comments and see a lot of political trash.

I didn't.  It is mostly folks either complaining about WWE being fake or questioning Tyra Mae Steele as her name.

Ha.  Yeah I think the name is fine, at least it keeps her initials.

Unlike Steveson, I think she could be successful in the WWE

G'Angelo Hancock (aka Tavion Heights) has had a couple very impressive matches on NXT on TV.

Didn’t realize that.  Apparently he just “beat” Bobby Steveson (aka Damon Kemp) and now they’re on the same tag team or something

Good for her, I guess.  Still makes me sad.  I have no idea why 'wrestling is a thing.

Imagine going to your day job and being told, if you are the top person in the world you get 500k this year, if you are 2nd in the world you get 250k this year and if you are 3rd you get 100k. If you are 4th or worse you get enough pay to live in an apartment or rent a room and eat ok. That’s essentially what being an international wrestler is. In this game she has way less pressure, just to perform. She gets paid the same whether she wins or loses. Not really any different than being a figure skater

It's a legitimate question...Why would they rebrand her when she won the Olympics and got TONS of good press from that?

The best in the sport do pretty well in the long term.  I bet Gable Steveson would have been better off financially if he had stuck with wrestling. We'll see what happens in his career vs JB, Taylor, Dake, Snyder.  Obviously, TMS has less earning potential than they do, but I doubt she has that much in WWE either (based on how they have treated her and that clip). WWE is not about actual wrestling skills at all, and it never has been. WWE stars come from being roided up and playing on whatever the zeitgeist is.

Women's amateur wrestling is growing, and TMS could be a leader in that-there is much more space for growth there than there is in WWE.

She can always be Pro amateur wrestling, Kurt Angle and Chas Betts still are. She has a lot better chance to make $1 million or more the next few years in fake wrestling than real wrestling. She’s aging into her 30s now, not everyone eats, breathes and thinks about wrestling all the time.

I believe the WWE still markets “Chad Gable” as an Olympian despite changing his name.  It seems the only people that don’t have their name changed are ones that already have names that sound like stage names.  Looks like there may also be something about the WWE being able to trademark the fake names but if that was a significant impact I don’t see why they wouldn’t just change everyone’s names.

What makes you say she doesn’t have much earning potential?  I saw mostly positive feedback from her performance, especially when you compare to Gable.  We also know she has a good personality and charisma, so combined with her athleticism I would expect her to do just fine in the WWE (and “just fine in the WWE” would translate to “far more earning potential than in wrestling”)
