Ethan Oakley from Appalachian State is now in the bracket accoding to App State twitter. Anyone have any idea who had to drop out because of injury? Does everyone else just slide up a spot and he comes in as the pigtail?

On HR they are saying it is Connor McGonagle from Lehigh who is out. He was the 11 seed. Not sure if they re-seed or not.

Drowning in data, but thirsting for knowledge

McGonagle would be the obvious candidate given how he was injured at EIWA.

Wouldn't they slide everyone from #12-33 up a Seed & insert Oakley @ 33 (like they did with Sheets 2 years ago) ?

That is my understanding as to the bracket will be adjusted.

@bnwtwg I don’t know if you heard RBY being interviewed after the Big Ten finals, but when asked what the victory meant to him, he said, if I remember correctly, “nothing much.“ I wouldn’t be surprised if the wrestling gods punished him for that kind of attitude (even though he is undeniably a really nice young man). There are too many kids out there who have spent their whole lives looking for a national title — and it sure would be something if Dayton won in front of his hometown fans. Disclaimer: hawks fan here.

No, he was asked what winning the Big Tens meant to him and had the same reaction as Imar in 2018. He said "nothing much" because the implication is the only performance that matters is nationals not the conference. Clip starts at 12:16

i am an idiot on the internet

Glad you were able to clarify your fandom. It was hard to tell from your screen name.

RBY said about the same thing before so Wrestle-Gods might appreciate his candor!

Yes, I used the RBY quote in the earlier thread on  lame post-match interviewing.  I liked it, even though it had a tinge of the 'throw your silver medal in the trash' attitude, of which I do not condone.  But, on the margin, honesty > PC BS

Part of PSUs sauce for their guys performing so well at Nationals is that they emphasize that any success in wrestling is temporary so just relax and compete hard..

Add in the religious aspect. As in the trusting of a higher power do not stressing about things out of their control.. it leads to guys doing well.

Now for the people that get unnecessarily triggered by the mention of religion and/or like to do the “ugh I’m soo superior because I don’t believe in religion” schickt.. I say this as someone who is not religious.. it’s possible to understand why believing in a higher power helps them compete better AND not believe in religion

I'm not particularly religious either...and when I say particularly I mean...more like at all.

But I'd have walked the streets knocking on doors and going on missions if it meant success like Cael or...so many of the PSU Wrestlers.

Millner (9 seed from App St) must have been removed

And, as always, one can follow along on the Dashboard come the start of the NCAA sessions.

Who's wrestling, where, results, etc.

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.
