  1. I believe that was the plan until he lost to Dake. 2024 is a vision quest for redemption.
  2. Johny was a 160 as a senior at the Dapper Dan. He wrestled 157 as a RS Frosh due to Tyrone being the guy at 165. Doesn't seem that he had that much of a cut for the Cowboys. Didn't he have most of his success at 170 for UFC?
  3. Exactly what we did with our son. He started kindergarten late and will turn 19 in April of his senior year. It actually turned out to be a good thing for us already. Although he is one the oldest kids in his 5th grade class, he is still the smallest boy.
  4. Jordan Burroughs: I just don't see it happening. Too much to ask of the old guy. What tough tourney did JB just win? If you're referring to Yasar Dogu, the field was watered-down because it was not a ranking series event this year. He hasn't made scratch 74kg since he lost the OTT to Dake in April '21. His two recent events at 74kg (Yasar Dogu, March '24; Kunaev, Nov '23) were both single-day events with a 2kg weight allowance. 74kg was always a tough cut for him. At the OTT, He'll have to make scratch weight both days AND win the challenge bracket. Going back to when he first made a World Team in 2011, Burroughs has NEVER had to go through a challenge tourney bracket to make a World or Olympic team. He won the US Open in 2011 to get a bye, and This year, he'll have to go through the following just to get to Dake: 2023 Bill Farrell champion – Jason Nolf (Nittany Lion WC) 2024 NCAA D1 champion at 165 lbs - David Carr (Iowa State) 2023 U20 World champion – Mitchell Mesenbrink (Askren Wrestling Academy) 2023 U23 World champion – Keegan O'Toole (Tiger Style WC) 2023 Senior Nationals champion – Quincy Monday (NJRTC/Titan Mercury WC) 2023 Senior Nationals 2nd place – Alex Marinelli (Hawkeye WC/Titan Mercury WC) 2023 Senior Nationals 3rd place – Alex Facundo (Nittany Lion WC/Titan Mercury WC) 2023 Senior Nationals 4th place – Jarrett Jacques (Tiger Style WC) 2023 Senior Nationals 5th place – Tyler Berger (Pennsylvania RTC) 2024 NCAA D1 champion at 157 lbs - Levi Haines (Penn State) Whomever survives the 34-man Last Chance Qualifier bracket (Vincenzo Joseph?)
  5. The last time Luke Stanich will have ever weighed 125 was Thursday morning at NCAA. Very likely to RS next year and come back as a 141.
  6. I actually meant to make my post on the other OK State projection. It goes without saying that Daton is a FIXture in the Cowboys' lineup.
  7. McGonagle is a 133. The only reason he competed at 141 this season was b/c he lost the 133 spot to Crookham and moved up a class at the F&M Open to set up a challenge for the 141 spot. FWIW, he lost to Carter Bailey at F&M, which essentially ended his 2023-24 season for Lehigh. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  11. Dake was known to cut a lot of weight until his senior year. I believe it was Burroughs who challenged him to go up to 165 to take on the unicorn.
  12. Thanks and congratulations. I thought the three finalists and picking Teemer as your WC drove it home for you. Your Kasak/Berge comment made me go back and look at your picks. Pretty damn impressive. The winner of last year's contest (15 participants) had 109.5 points. The winner in 2022 (9 participants) had 138.5. You had 128.5 in a 15-person competition. Ten of eleven scored points. Seven of eleven made All-American. Six of your AAs placed in the top four. I think, like PSU, you just set a very high standard for future contests. (sorry, @VakAttack)
  13. 1. Sanderson 2. Brooks 3. Dake 4. Yianni 5. Starocci 6. Smith 7. Stieber
  14. sorry. don't have that data.

  16. After the Suriano ordeal, my guess is Carl conducts psych testing on parents prior to making scholarship offers.
  17. This might help… Question posed by Eric Knopsnyder (PA Power Wrestling) Q: “With Mitchell… Was there some confusion there at the end? Did he know that the riding time point was secured? Carl: “Um, I think, ah, he thought he was going into overtime., so he just kind of shut it down a little bit. Um.., but, ah… you know, that obviously falls on our coaching… uh, me, as a coach, not communicating that to him… but, you know, great opponent… he wrestled an awesome match and he’s got a really bright future… so we’re excited… for him. 19. Carl admitted as such during the post-tourney presser. Look at the video link I posted earlier in the thread. The question is asked & answered 6:48 into the video. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Carl indicated in the post-meet interview that MM was looking to OT - evidently didn't know about the RT point. Carl also said the coaches should have done a better job of making sure MM knew the situation. Time stamp 6:48.
  21. Good for Luke Stanich. Whenever the subject of his weight cut came up in interviews, he always mentioned McDonald's as being something he looked forward to. Well, Luke got his wish. Congratulations on a great True Frosh season and NCAA tournament!

  23. Nothing to be heard. It's taking place on "X - formerly known as Twitter"
  24. Correction to my previous final chart. My "Champs" count was wrong. No changes to standings - just an error of my logic to count the number of "1st" winners in the Place column.
