Well as a start, it would be nice to know what kind of money guys like Burroughs, Taylor, Spencer etc make in endorsement deals. Obviously it’s not $28 million, but it seems like Clark is shattering even previous women’s basketball numbers, not just wrestlers.

That no takedown call wasn’t that egregious (I believe even Willie agreed), did they say it was due to that or stuff earlier in the match? I haven’t watched the rest of the match but if it was primarily due to the no takedown call, this seems like a slippery slope to be suspending refs for judgement calls. If they found out the refs took money or something shouldn’t they be banned and not suspended?

One advantage criteria has over overtime is the time savings. People were already complaining about how late the sessions were ending this weekend, imagine if there were also overtime matches in there…

I kinda agree with the real Jimmy actually. I don’t think PSU offers him a huge number (which $400k is). But I’d be shocked if he goes anywhere besides PSU. But I’ll admit I was skeptical he’d come back at all and it is seeming like he likely will.

How common is it for the same guy to get put on the clock twice in a row? Regardless of how many matches end 1-1, I still think it’s dumb that it mostly seems to be “well one guy got put on the clock first now it’s the other guy’s turn”

Kinda crazy that Liam Cronin, a 3rd place finisher at NCAA’s, lost to 2 high schoolers, neither of which being the high schooler that took 3rd (Blaze)

Obviously assistants and associate HC’s can get head coaching jobs, but I don’t think there’s any advantage to that if you’re already a HC, unless you are hoping to get the HC job at the school you’re going to, hence the Robie comment as I mentioned. All the guys on your list had never been head coaches before. And half of them were promoted at their own school. Similar to the Coleman Scott discussion, the COL difference is likely a factor. But I don’t think the move helps him get a different HC job unless there is a succession plan with Robie. Oh and Columbia is not below average. They finished above average this year including ahead of half of the coaches you listed.

But that is at the same school, that’s why I made the Robie comment. Of course we probably also shouldn’t count the chickens before they hatch in regards to Scott…

How does taking a demotion help that?
