It’s not six, on an annual basis it’s probably somewhere between 1.5 ($750k/year) - 2.5 ($1.25mm/year). Still a fair question, but I’m not sure you can expect to get more than 1 or 2 national title contenders in the portal each year. Maybe I’m an optimist but I do think we’re going to see less transferring after all the guys with the free Covid years are gone. And many of the guys that finish 1-3 will probably already be at schools offering pretty good NIL. And of course from a fan perspective there’s something to be said for being able to root for the same guy for 4 years vs new guys every year. And with Bassett, while maybe not worth $500k+, he does bring his marketability with him that could also actually bring in some revenue. Not to mention landing him makes you the frontrunner for Melvin Miller as well.

$5 million per year is definitely exaggerated, but I wouldn’t be super shocked if that’s the total number. I mean even Willie confirmed that Teemer and Buchanan were getting $500k each for one season. So I’d bet Bo got offered more than that. $3 million+ for a career is certainly believable to me.

It was the early days of NIL, but pretty sure NIL helped get them Mendez/Bouzakis/Feldman. So I’m sure they’ve got funds. They just haven’t really gotten any big name transfers yet. I know Ryan has commented on that they did go after some, just weren’t able to land them.

This may be true but I mentioned earlier that I heard PSU (can’t remember where, Spencer Lee maybe?) has put expiration dates on their offers, if so it could be them or if it was successful maybe Taylor is using the same strategy

Calling Bouzakis’ season “lackluster” seems a bit of a stretch IMO. If Crookham is out, he’s got a chance to win the whole thing. His only losses are to Davino and three guys that could also win the title all in close matches, and he has several quality wins and an over 60% bonus rate

I don’t think anyone was really trashing his wrestling, basically just saying that they don’t really need him (probably true) and not being a fan of how he handled the recruiting process (which yes that is the take that is seen on here as well)

Kinda seems that way with Estrada but I wouldn’t be surprised if Estrada was on board with it. Who knows how many chances he’ll have to start.

FWIW, in just a quick perusal of HR/GIA and BWI/HVI, the PSU fan comments are much more negative. One guy called him an “attention whore” and another said “his whole recruiting process has been a farce”

I see him as a 4x pretty high AA, but not sure if he will win a title, especially with a lot of the guys that could be in his way. Ironically maybe a Daton Fix type, which of course would still be a great career. What I’m nervous about with him is how much more he can improve, considering he already has an entire wrestling facility in his basement and great workout partners.
