  1. How many are not at Indiana or Purdue? My guess is only Parris, right?
  2. @Wrestleknownothing are you emptying the clip now or do you plan to really drop the knowledge hammer as part of the annual twitter trivia contest?
  3. I think one of these sees their name in the consolation bracket when they go to the hotel Thursday night, in order of most to least likely: Keck Woods Bonaccorsi AOC
  4. I wouldn’t waste my time. Everyone has defeated everyone at some point. Parity as far as the eye can see, and I would not be surprised, legitimately not surprised, if anyone 1-20 AA’d. I think 6-10 have a realistic shot to make the finals too.
  5. And if you say 197 then you better mean it’s going chalk which would be crazy. My guess this year is 157 goes kablooey. 1 of the top 3 seeds doesn’t see Friday night, 2 don’t see Saturday night, and at least two double digit seed AA’s.
  6. I remember chuckling when he said that and thinking “surely he’s not going to seriously attempt to follow through on that after a couple years of growth.” But hey if he wants to shrink down then go for it. His body, his choice. I’ll take Dake by bomb and JB by double until proven otherwise
  7. Starocci is big for 174 and WAY too big for 74. He’s a tweener and needs to embrace it… maybe goes 184 next year and cuts down to 79 @ WTT after taking lumps at 86. Just sucks thanks IOC for ruining everything.
  8. Ironic because Ben Askren would absolutely not be a fan of pretty much any opinion that a Common Sense Committee would put forward.
  9. Performing well on the backside at the conference tourney does not make for glorious natty seeds. They had two champions, both expected and both seeded #1 at NCAAs as expected. A great similar example of the "the whole is greater than the sum of all parts" would be Minnesota winning a team title without a single national champ. So congrats on 2nd in the Big Ten, and good luck with the fair NCAA seeds. I hope you have superior results of your Friday than diagnosing the mental health of an idiot behind a keyboard.
  10. Are you insinuating that Patrick Glory was granted a double-secret 17 pound weight allowance by the NCAA?
  11. I can only think of three people who would be confident enough to take those odds: Daton Fix, AOC, and Keckeisen. It’s them against the world.
  12. There are 23 double digit seeds at 197. I'll take those odds.
  13. Are we still calling this the Mizzou Seeding Special or did we have to move on since they consistently produce AAs, NCAA champs, and world champs nowadays?
  14. Call me Mr. Jelly because I 100% agree with everything you just said.
  15. Iowa did not wrestle a tough out-of-conference schedule. Iowa individuals did not perform particularly well in-conference. Iowa individuals did not perform particularly well at the conference tournament. Therefore, Iowa got lower than desired seeds.
  16. Their nonconference was primarily tomato cans except Iowa State and OkSt. Their only tournament was the F-150 Salute Your Shorts where NINETEEN Hawkeyes made it to the quarters, the runner-up was perrenial wrestling powerhouse Army, and the most exciting moment was a varsity starter pinning his backup in 30 seconds and telling his coaches that he deserved it. So yeah, weak out of conference schedule + middling B1G results = appropriate seeding where they don't get the benefit of the Hawkeye doubt
  17. But how does one counter his old-man strength?
  18. Yeah it's definitely not a hill worth dying on. Hopefully Hendrickson shows up this year and puts the haters to bed by finally getting that AA medal.
  19. CKLV is a demonstrably stronger field than the Iowa F-150 Salute Your Shorts tournament
  20. May I introduce you to the Western Duck from John James Audobon's "Birds of America"
  21. But not as robust as Cassioppi. Please don't make me defend Iowa... the fact that they outrecruit Poeta and I have to defend the IL guys makes me sick to my stomach. Schuyler (8), Davison 2x (9), Hilger (11), Orndorff (16), Doucet (20), McDermott (24), and Goldin (27).
  22. Because I prefer rewarding competitors who wrestle a tough schedule rather than punish them. But it's a nitpick over a single seed and the bigger theme is better record vs. better wrestler. Luckily this is why they wrestle the tournament - the results will speak for themselves!
  23. Who from Iowa got the shaft? They got very fair seeds and every bracket seed-feed works the same way. If they don't like the tough draws they could have... won more and lost less? The only Iowa seed I disagree with is Cassioppi should have been the 3 ahead of Hendrickson and behind Kerkvliet but either way he should make the semis based on his 2022-23 resume compared to his opponents 2022-23 resumes.
  24. Second best wrestler punished for losing to the best wrestler. I'm a huge Hendrickson stan but wtf he does NOT deserve a top 3 seed with that joke of an Air Force schedule. This is why coaches skip matches and don't put their wrestlers' records at risk.
