  1. Go get Hall, Futrell, and Thomas. Year 2 leap engaged
  2. Gable is 100% going. The question is if he is 100% all in and no insider is going to leak that nugget right now. If he’s still spending time doing both then we are going to find out in a couple weeks if his talent really is *that* much better than the competition that he can gap them. If it’s not then I have a feeling his fire will be fully reignited and he’s going to come back all in for Paris. I hope he wins gold this year, but I feel really bad for the Olympics competitors if he doesn’t…
  3. TIL Facundo will be Dake’s partner. If Valencia gets the right draw against some lung grabbers he could have an interesting run. Just as likely for BBQ though. I hate to say it but I think Chamizo regresses to bronze gatekeeper level. Unfortunately Father Time is undefeated and not even Chamizo’s jaw-dropping defense can stave it off. Unless there is a weird draw for BLR and RUS I just don’t see it.
  4. I *love that the two most talked-about weights for MFS are the big boys. 125 is going to be en fuego I cannot wait
  5. Oh sorry, I should add that I grew up in rural southern IL. Big Red isn't just a type of gum, it's a mindset. There was a school shooting a few years ago in my hometown. Would you like to take a guess what those same folks are suddenly interested in changing today? I'll give you a hint: The majority does not like the letters A and R or the number 1 and 5. Maybe it's because those blowhards couldn't defend their innocent children. Then they saw Uvalde cosplaying their worst nightmare of "well I would have..." bullshit. And then they realized change is necessary from a thesis drafted during the musket days of slavery.
  6. Everyone wants to talk shit until they get a nice statistical WKN breakdown. Limit guns, fiscal responsibility, quit cutting education, push back against healthcare 1%, socially liberal. That is all pretty much any American wants. But what do I know, I just represent a good darn many of you and the global income every day.
  7. well ackshually https://www.thirdway.org/report/the-two-decade-red-state-murder-problem Takeaways The murder rate in the 25 states that voted for Donald Trump has exceeded the murder rate in the 25 states that voted for Joe Biden in every year from 2000 to 2020. Over this 21-year span, this Red State murder gap has steadily widened from a low of 9% more per capita red state murders in 2003 and 2004 to 44% more per capita red state murders in 2019, before settling back to 43% in 2020. Altogether, the per capita Red State murder rate was 23% higher than the Blue State murder rate when all 21 years were combined. If Blue State murder rates were as high as Red State murder rates, Biden-voting states would have suffered over 45,000 more murders between 2000 and 2020. Even when murders in the largest cities in red states are removed, overall murder rates in Trump-voting states were 12% higher than Biden-voting states across this 21-year period and were higher in 18 of the 21 years observed.
  8. He was on Xvideos already this week. Big Numbers. Maybe the biggest numbers ever. Yuge numbers*. Donald loves Xvideos and Elon is going to make sure he is on Xvideos more than ever because Xvideos is a fantastic source of media. *editor's note: seriously it was actually very large numbers
  9. Josh Hokit at Fresno State was a 2019 wrestling AA and returned senior year which was lost to covid. A few months later he made it to the final 2020 preseason cut as a fullback for the 49ers; got a training camp invite to the Cardinals in 2021 but was waived again.
  10. There is no way Starocci is going to effectively make 165 two days for B1Gs, three days for NCAAs, and then two days for OTT. He might make weight but he ain't gonna do sheeeeeeeiiiiiittttttt if he attempts to do it. He's going to go 174 and likely have already been slowly descending for some time. Or he can plan to go 86 and enjoy eating + recovering for two weeks after NCAAs before it's time to ramp up again.
  11. All because of betting on fellow Iowa student-athlete Caitlin Clark. Once again women's basketball is taking away opportunities from men's wrestling!
  12. They are getting the 2026 World Cup bump. And low key KCMO is a very fun time in the P&L district. It’s like if Nashville said “we’re done with the bachelorette parties but we are going to risk the occasional brutal ice storm in return.” And fantastic BBQ.
  13. Agreed on requiring more multiple senior matches. Hard disagree that they have to be Olympic weight. Your weight class is your weight class and Sepp Blatter has no say over your body.
  14. I agree. And she needs to sustain this success like few ever have. It’s not a negative comment from me, it’s an observation of the best of the best of the best of the best. When one person has given up three points they are amazing. When another competitor has given up zero points and his closest comp is an in-prime 5 time world/oly champ then yeah I’m going to lean toward the Russian Tank. I hope Elor takes the crown and Snyder takes gold.
  15. *Most dominant American, which is a damn great accomplishment. Gotta pay your dues to be considered global p4p. Sadulaev still holds that p4p crown until proven otherwise. The last time he gave up points was in an instagram practice match. Taylor, Dake, and Snyder can’t say the same. Elor is certainly trending in the p4p ladder though and September will see a big shakeup.
  16. Another medal at non-only weight is a huge advantage. 1) Career bump 2) Weights will begin to clear out which increases likelihood of medaling 3) Didn’t need to bulk/ cut a full year early while still a young growing prodigal kid 4) Bye into OTT semis All are very good reasons to remain at 72 for another year

Nah he’s not any harder than any other person who builds and expects high expectations in order for those individuals to achieve their best self. This thread will devolve into toxicity by competition so let’s focus on the good stuff As an example of Kolat’s leadership: Under his tutelage, Jacob Allen excelled both on and off the mat. A 2020-21 NCAA qualifier, Allen was named a 2022 First-Team CoSIDA Academic All-American. He graduated with a 4.00 grade-point average and was ranked No. 1 in the Class of 2022 in Academic Order of Merit, No. 2 in Military Order of Merit and No. 7 in Overall Order of Merit.
  18. It's how he gets paid as a college athlete in 2023. Nothing more.

Lol Cunningham isn’t giving up training world champions to coach at UNC Kolat would be fine, probably a notch below where UNC is today to be honest. But Ramos is already there. If they do him dirty then he’s probably gone and that recruiting pipeline is going to dry up real quick. I heard he doesn’t mess with double-crossing liars.

    UNC

UNC just matriculated a two time champ/4x AA. Something tells me that isn’t going to hurt recruiting. Scott left the cupboard in good shape and Ramos is going to do great things. He is the coaching steal of the decade.

You're not talking about some MACtion though, and the "holes" are acceptable because the reality is there are 5 blue bloods (PSU, Iowa, tOSU, OKST, Cornell) and everyone else. VT was 9th and NCState was 10th last year separated by an ultra slim 49-48 margin. UNC was 12th. Pitt was 22nd. I would describe that as a very damn good performance from the ACC and at a macro level that is a very good thing for wrestling.
  22. JB you know who this is, right? The call is coming from inside the house…
