Tier 1: The best of the best 1) Snyder - if not for the top p4p in the world, Snyder would be chasing down the likes of Yodanov, Fadzaev, Bloglazov, Satiev, and possibly even Medved. I believe Snyder is the #2 p4p in the world. 2) Dake - did you know that he still beats Taylor when they rarely go live? 3) Taylor - One blemish at a diminished '21 worlds that I won't hold against him. Tier 2: Because of previous time away, current WWE obligations, and until a repeat of Tokyo is completed I cannot be convinced otherwise 4) Steveson Tier 3: Well, hmm, what do we do about this guy because it's going to be really inconsistent with a certain GOAT in the tier below... 5) Cox Tier 4: Significant drop from the above until proven otherwise 6) Retherford - finally put together a good tourney last year. Was it lightning in a bottle that is propping him up at this current ranking? 7) Marstellar - to be the man you gotta beat the man. I cannot put him below JB but anything less than a finals appearance is going to drop you real hard in the p4p rankings (note: p4p is not the same as 1:1 matchups) 8 ) Richards - to be the man you gotta beat the man 9) Burroughs - pain putting this name this far down. Reigning world champion that could very well have repeated if he retained his spot. I really think he is no lower than 6 but the WTT results say otherwise. Pain. 10) Gilman - three time medalist (four if you want to count '21 Oslo where no one at 57 showed up) that was just knocked off the top of the mountain. Similar sentiment as JB but obviously to a much, much less degree 11) Zahid - proven international results with domestic barriers 12) Vito - I'm all in but that's my heart not my mind doing the talking. Results required. Tier 5: Getting into the mud 13) Fix - Still can't believe he got rocked so bad by Nashon. Strongly looking like a regression and a change of scenery is necessary. And maybe a swig of ol' dad's water bottle. 14) Suriano - I think Suriano is still better than our 65 group and he has international results to back it up. 15) N. Lee - Ehh 65. And he got torqued by Musukaev like he just kicked his dog. 16) Yianni - Yep. Still 65. But he broke the drought! 17) Parris - Has a good opportunity to jump up the p4p ladder with good results Thursday & Friday. I hope he takes advantage because his opportunities are going to be limited. 18) Hendrickson - He's that good, he's just in a domestically stacked weight. I believe he would bring home hardware right now if he started doing the senior circuit. He's just behind a medal contender who's behind the best in the world. It's a JB/Dake/Taylor/Howe problem at 125. 19) Gwiz - Father Time is undefeated and that's a shame. He might still be able to beat Hendrickson but I believe it would only be the first time and the results would swing the other way going forward. 20) Kerk - Don't sleep on the big boring tree if he ever puts it together. Big IF. Did I mention 125 is our deepest weight?

I agree with all of the above except the inclusion of Yianni. 65 has always been a crapshoot domestically and the p4p rankings should reflect as much.

Dry humping culture has run rampant throughout campus. Only distinguished alumni and memorabilia collector Darren Rovell can save the school.

Iowa wrestlers facing gambling penalties? (from Iowa forum)
bnwtwg replied to Jimmy Cinnabon's topic in College Wrestling
Matching Brandvold for a '23 world and '24 Olympic run will be even more difficult. It's not like Iowa/HWC helped Steveson earn that $250,000 Living The Dream paycheck in 2021 and the long-term earnings (read: marketing) from repeated global championships outweighs whatever Bob Nichols can throw at Steveson for one NCAA season. ETA: unless Steveson gets some of that Miami-level football money and I don't see that happening. -
It's a *very legal* financial long con regarding the payment structure of his Tesla income combined with payment of his personal Tesla taxes and also avoid PR heat ("look over here at this dumpster fire! lolz whoopsies can't believe that's such a mess! just keep focusing on twitter!"). And again, while I do not personally like Musk, he is doing what he set out to do very well and I'll give credit where it is due no matter how grimy.
-
He banned the word "cis" so that's a bit contradictory to free speech, eh?
-
I grew to strongly dislike him when he was selling snake oil in my city by offering to dig a really big hole... that already existed. But it would go to O'Hare quickly! Except nothing happened except Musk hustling a civic enterprise out of money. He's got his money and his RPITW title. But he's still a huckster and utilized the Twitter acquisition as a masterclass in discretionary misdirection.

He has always been a gamer and likely has the highest attendance rate of any US senior athlete on an annual basis going back to when he came on the scene. Like I said, I'm just preparing myself for the NLWC inevitable.

No talk of Bo Nickal's recent UFC 290 fight?
bnwtwg replied to Jimmy Cinnabon's topic in College Wrestling
Nickal had the lowest odds in UFC history so finding any action that would give a decent return was hard to find or too crazy for my risk appetite. But I'm a degenerate and thought he would want to show off his hands to earn a title fight soon so I took the juice. And I was correct... I just didn't think Nickal had strong hands for a standing KO, tomato can or not - I figured it would be a few punches + kicks darting in and out -> takedown -> ground & pound for 20+ strikes total. -
Yet again I will say that I can't believe Snyder hasn't gone the NLWC route of showing up once a year

No talk of Bo Nickal's recent UFC 290 fight?
bnwtwg replied to Jimmy Cinnabon's topic in College Wrestling
I bet $10 on a parlay. I took Under 3.5 minutes + Nickal to land 20+ strikes. Then DraftKings took my money because I lost and I paid my bet. -
Where are you Crash? Show your new name and burn this thread to the ground!

Mall pastry facing keto penalties? (from Wrestling forum) -
Transfers? Gambling? All we're missing is a J'Den Cox tangent about Iran wrestlers and look out 140 pages we're comin for ya!

Nah Gilman would be dusted. The whole country saw that when it came time to throw hands with Waters he dove for an ankle and got laughed at.

You shut up! Wroblewski may be a very crappy heavyweight but he's MY very crappy heavyweight you turd burgler.

As Aaron Brooks would say, the Lord works in mysterious ways
-
That's a shame. He was climbing to high places until he got hurt junior year - after his true frosh and RS frosh performances I thought he was going to leave OSU with a title.

My favorite sport outside of wrestling is marathons if it makes you dislike me more. I will say though, I appreciate violence of a good tri swim.
-
My favorite part of triathlons is not having to deal with 40 minutes of boring swimming anymore. And that's saying something considering there is 4 hours to go!

If only there were a 121 pound/55kg olympic gold medalist who then went on to become an MMA champ. He would probably be a really bad dude...
