  4. If you are from Iran, you can honestly say that there is none of this in Iran? It's all love and kumquats with those idiot Iraqis? No harsh words for the hick Azerbaijanis? No harshness for the Sunni or Shia folks somewhere else or down the road? The Turks are the worst? I'll bet it is the same there as it is everywhere. mspart
  5. Actually I take that back on my comment. I had a Mitsubishi in Hawaii that had 200k+ miles on it. I thought it ran great but my wife hated it. It was ugly. Appearance over function. So I had to get rid of it eventually. mspart
  6. It's as if CNN said "we have no idea of the race of the man but he's possibly white." Why say it if you don't know? Your speculation is not informative and obviously wasn't here. mspart
  7. Is that really the purpose anymore? It was back in the 70s and 80s. But I have not seen that as the purpose since I got back into wrestling in a world scene in the late 90s. But these days it is better than it was in the 2000s for sure. I think tech fall should be 15 now that Takedowns are 2. JMHO. mspart

  10. Are you implyinhg he didn't see it? What kind of a question is this? It is not a denial of the fact. Seems more like confirmation with a quizzical wondering about what kind of TV he watches. mspart

  12. The shelves are bare. That's not helping anyone. Similar to Eastern Europe during communism. It simply doesn't work, good intentions or no. mspart

  15. https://heartlandernews.com/2025/07/27/kansas-citys-government-backed-grocery-store-failing-customers-taxpayers-more-critics-than-tomatoes/ Kansas City’s government-backed grocery store failing customers, taxpayers; more critics than tomatoes Kansas City’s failing government-funded grocery store has earned international infamy for its “empty shelves and rotten smells,” even as a leading New York mayoral candidate promises such operations there. Despite millions of tax dollars thrown at the project since its 2018 opening in a city-owned strip mall at Linwood Boulevard and Prospect Avenue, news reports say the KC Sun Fresh grocery store “is on the verge of closure.” Fox Business News and the Washington Post have sent reporters to see it for themselves, while London’s Daily Mail told readers, “Images at the Sun Fresh grocery store show mostly bare shelves and coolers as well as empty meat, produce and deli departments.” “Kansas City poured millions into a grocery store. It still may close,” the Post headline reads. “KC Sun Fresh lost $885,000 last year and now has only about 4,000 shoppers a week,” the Post reports. “That’s down from 14,000 a few years ago, according to Emmet Pierson Jr., who leads Community Builders of Kansas City, the nonprofit that leases the site from the city. Despite a recent $750,000 cash infusion from the city, the shelves are almost bare.” Bold and underlined are my additions. KC sun Fresh sounds very nice, who wouldn't want to shop there? It only lost $885k. And throwing money at it doesn't seem to help. What a real world example of socialism not working. Of course Mamdami will do it right when he gets a chance. The go to statement for all socialists/communists. Sure it failed, but it wasn't implemented correctly. Ha ha! mspart
  16. https://thedailyeconomy.org/article/new-study-californias-20-minimum-wage-killed-18000-restaurant-jobs/ New Study: California’s $20 Minimum Wage Killed 18,000 Restaurant Jobs The authors estimate that the negative employment effect is anywhere from -2.3 to -3.9 percent, (as compared to all states, or just to states with no minimum wage changes). Relative to a world where California did not increase the minimum wage, 18,000 jobs were lost. This is a large number, but it’s even more jarring when you realize how limited this law change was. Again, this bill only applied to restaurants with over 60 locations, so many other low-wage jobs were exempted. Even within the restaurant industry, implementation was limited. In other words, those 18,000 more unemployed workers were the victims of a relatively limited change. This large drop puts talks of a national “living wage” — often proposed as $15 or more — in serious doubt. California has a relatively high cost of living, which means all else being constant, a $20 minimum wage would have an even larger unemployment effect where average wages are lower. Very interesting. 18k jobs lost due to good intentions. Another D fiasco. mspart
  17. I knew Bo Jackson and you are no Bo Jackson!!!! I was not really a Bo fan. But I loved that he ran over Bosworth. Just wrecked him. From wikipedia: Later that season, prior to the Seahawks' second matchup with the Los Angeles Raiders, Bosworth publicly claimed that he was going to "contain" Raiders running back Bo Jackson. During a red zone play, Jackson received a hand-off and powered through Bosworth's attempted tackle to score a touchdown. According to Jackson, when he and Bosworth got to their feet after the play was over, he told Bosworth, "Next time, have bus fare," infuriating Bosworth.[14] The Raiders went on to win that game, 37–14, thanks in part to Jackson's 3 touchdowns and 221 rushing yards.[15] Just wrecked! Obviously Bo went after Bosworth and won that battle. mspart
  18. All initiated by Oct 7 Hamas attack on Israel. If they had done nothing, the situation in Gaza would have remained as it was. MO - Hamas attacks. Hamas hides behind civilians during the expected retaliation. Hamas spreads falsehoods about damage, deaths, injuries. Hamas shows the starving people to gain sympathy for a ceasefire. Hamas takes the food aid and keeps it for themselves. Hamas proclaims that the Palestinians are not their problem, but the UN's problem to resolve. Hamas needs to go. mspart
  19. That's a good thing. I heard there were folks in the top floors of beach hotels partying hard and celebrating the tsunami. Did they ever consider the water could compromise the foundation of the building? I'm glad the wave was not as feared. mspart
  20. This is nazi eugenics white dominance if I've ever seen it. No wait, that was the jeans ad. To be honest, I am just trolling. I found this thread funny and appreciate it very much. Bringing levity to this board is a good thing. mspart

  22. This is true. Our state government makes $0.55 per gallon in gas tax and the CO2 tax is 46 cents for gas and 56 cents for diesel. In comparison, at 8.3% profit margin, a $4.35 per gallon (current cheap price here in WA) yields 36 cents a gallon. So yes, the government makes more on gas than the gas companies do. mspart
