I don't drink so the answer would be no, I haven't tried that. mspart

Do people running marathons drink beer during the race? I'm guessing that would be quite rare if nonexistant. mspart

I'm guessing that is correct. mspart

To the first post, did Trump have federal level experience in 2013? Did he have aspirations that we know of to be President? No and No as far as I know. Now he is in there and can see what is going on. As you guys always say, it is ok to change one's mind given more facts and data. I'd say he has a lot more facts and data now than in 2013. Nice try. mspart

The key here is that the Ds wanted to roll back the big beautiful bill requirement of medicaid eligibility. And that would allow people that should be ineligible to get it. Since the Big Beautiful bill, the CBO says it has saved money by not allowing ineligible people from accessing it. That's what the Ds want. They want ineligible (and that includes illegals) people to get Medicaid benefits they do not deserve. Period, end of story. See article below regarding Mike Johnson interview with George Stephanoplololossoooose on ABCs good morning america. https://www.foxnews.com/media/speaker-johnson-abcs-stephanopoulos-clash-over-government-shutdown-illegal-immigrants-getting-healthcare Speaker Johnson, ABC’s Stephanopoulos clash over government shutdown, illegal immigrants getting healthcare During an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America," Stephanopoulos accused Johnson and Republicans of wanting to shut down the government to avoid continuing to fund Medicaid coverage for millions of Americans. The House Speaker pushed back on that claim. "The Democrats’ proposal is designed to prevent millions of Americans from losing their health insurance, losing Medicaid coverage or paying higher health care premiums. Why are you against that?" Stephanopoulos asked. "That’s an absurd statement, what you said there," Johnson replied. "It’s a factual statement," Stephanopoulos shot back. Johnson argued that the measure could allow illegal immigrants to access healthcare. "No, George. Let me tell you what happened last night. Everybody can go and review the facts for themselves. Forty-four Senate Democrats voted to reject a clean, non-partisan, continuing-funding resolution to keep the United States government open. The Democrats said instead that they wanted to give healthcare to illegal aliens instead of keeping critical services provided for the American citizens." "That’s what happened, plain and simple," Johnson added. Stephanopoulos pushed back: "Here are the facts. The proposal does not provide healthcare for illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants cannot buy health care under the Affordable Care Act. They cannot receive healthcare subsidies." Johnson interrupted, saying, "That’s not true." Stephanopoulos continued, "Illegal immigrants are ineligible for Medicare, Medicaid, and the Children’s Health Program. The Democratic bill does not make them eligible." Johnson countered that Democrats’ ACA proposal would roll back Republican provisions from the GOP’s "big, beautiful bill." "It does actually, because what it does is it unwinds the changes that Republicans put into the big, beautiful bill – the signature legislation that we passed and signed into law on July 4. That has been very successful in shoring up Medicaid for the people who are actually to receive it," the Speaker said. Johnson added that the Congressional Budget Office confirmed the law helped reduce premiums by removing ineligible recipients — "illegal aliens and able-bodied young men who are not eligible to be there." mspart

That doesn't matter. The arresting of illegal aliens is what I voted for. To be honest, I'm surprised that Biden admin did this but Biden/Harris did not promise more of this. Trump did. I voted for more of this. We are getting more of this and I couldn't be happier. mspart

That's what I voted for!! mspart

The Rs cut Medicaid so it couldn't go to illegal aliens. The Ds want to allow it to go to illegal aliens. it is very transparent. mspart

I found this interesting comment on Jonathan Turley's website that I have quoted from at various times. It seems to put doubt on the Comey indictment. i don't know how all of this works, but if it works like this guy seems to think it does, then not a good look for DOJ. Happy Jim Comey Statute of Limitations Expiration Day to all who celebrate!! Lindsey Halligan hasn’t been lawfully appointed as US Attorney under 28 U.S.C. § 546. This view is supported by a 1986 OLC opinion written by some guy named … {checks notes} … Samuel A. Alito. It just so happens, the only lawyer who signed (or was willing to sign) the Comey indictment was … {checks notes again} … Halligan, and also the statute of limitations on the charges it purports to allege expired … {here’s another handy note!} … at midnight last night. Which means that unless the courts accept some kind of wild unprecedented argument, Halligan, Pam Bondi, and Donald Trump won’t be able to fix this even if they had a single working brain among the three of them. SAD!!!!!! I have no idea if any of this is true (facts or reasoning) but this is certainly something that appears to be be a serious issue. I have not heard this before. There are many on that website that fancy themselves lawyers and just argue to argue. But this is interesting as there is no argument given, just "facts and reasoning". mspart

Taxes are paid by the normal joe. Where you live, you pay property taxes whether because you own property or rent property. Where you buy stuff, you pay sales tax. Where you buy stuff, the business owner has to pay some kind of business tax etc. Said biz owner doesn't pay those taxes, normal joe does in higher prices. When gas tax (and diesel) go up, food and merchandise prices increase thus normal joe essentially pays those taxes as well. Normal Joe pays all the taxes. Government hides them so normal Joe can't see them but they are there. Assume Normal Joe could see all the taxes he pays. Would Normal Joe be happy or extremely upset? mspart

He just couldn't get over that woman I guess. What a burden that person and her family are under right now. mspart -
So this topic is restricted to what happened in Chicago with the Tren de Aragua gang. How is arresting these gang members going to leave crops rotting in the fields? The question was are you for or against these Tren de Aragua folks, that hijacked an apartment building in Chicago, being arrested and deported? I honestly doubt they were doing farm work in Chicago. mspart
-
Logical. mspart
-
Yeah, they were picking a lot of crops there in south Chicago. These guys are really going to affect food prices across the country. However, the folks in that apartment area are probably celebrating their freedom. mspart

I couldn't agree more. But, it does happen and a decision must be made on the future. The amount of pain endured by someone with that injury is intense. Not something you want to go around with for the rest of your life even with a possible Olympic gold on the line. That's my calculation. I can't imagine anyone else would do it differently. But others don't act or react they way I would to various things so it is an individual decision. My thought is if it has already happened, it will more easily happen again. No need to even go there in my opinion. I wish the best for Vito whatever path he chooses. mspart

If this is still talking about the MI church shooting, the guy looks like he was a Trump supporter but hated the Mormons for some reason. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/sep/30/mormon-church-shooting-hate-religion So there are crazies on both sides if that is what you want to say. He is no longer in a position to cause more harm so that is a good thing. mspart -
Unpacking the Myth of Widespread Illegal Voting in Federal Elections
mspart replied to jross's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
Notice the SS numbers to noon citizens was relatively low compared to Joe's time in office. It would be interesting to see more years before this. mspart -
That's what I voted for. In my opinion, anyone who is not happy with this result has some serious issues that they need to resolve. Anytime foreign gang bangers are arrested and taken off the streets is a good thing. I cannot see how anyone would think otherwise. mspart

The local HS wrestling coach suggested choc milk for snacks at tourneys etc. Good for you, gives energy. Plus tastes goodly!! mspart

Answer to #2. Motor/voter registers anyone who gets a drivers license. If you are in a sanctuary state, you cannot be asked your immigration status so you can vote. There is a reluctance to verify citizenship for voters because that would be too onerous on people who cannot easily prove citizenship. In states like mine, we have mail in voting so there is more preventions that cannot happen. The only proof I should be able to vote is my signature. If they don't like it, then I have to go and do battle. I like going to the polls and showing my ID. It couldn't be easier. mspart -
Agreed! mspart
