  1. Here is the border policy. Ignore current laws and regulations. Allow as many illegals into the country as can be tolerated. 102k people transitioned to sanctuary cities is ample witness of the above. What is the plan? https://www.newsnationnow.com/us-news/immigration/border-coverage/biden-shut-down-congress-bill/ President Joe Biden has vowed to shut down the U.S.-Mexico border “when it becomes overwhelmed” if Congress approves a bipartisan border security deal. This says all you need to know. Nothing will change if the bill passes or not. Biden will ignore the new law just like he is ignoring current law. If what you see reported suggests to you that the border is closed, then what would convince you that the border is open? https://www.cbsnews.com/news/record-number-migrant-border-crossings-december-2023/ https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/whats-behind-the-influx-of-migrants-crossing-the-u-s-southern-border https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2021/11/09/whats-happening-at-the-u-s-mexico-border-in-7-charts/ These charts show an indication that the border is not closed. If not closed, then the alternative conclusion would be open. mspart
  2. Perhaps the new idea of solid state batteries will come to the rescue. Actually, these look very promising. Charge faster and hold more charge. Win win. mspart
  3. The Ds aren't messing around when they are saying that Democracy is at stake. That just doesn't mean what they want the rest of us to think it means. mspart
  4. Look at Gable Steveson. There is precedent!! mspart
  5. Perhaps would have been good if Snyder were there. Did Taz participate? mspart
  6. True. We may not know much about the case other than she can't remember when it happened and that is the root of both cases. mspart
  7. It's good the D's are rich enough to go out and buy a black outfit for the occasion. Real working class heros. What a bunch of idiots that want the young women of Utah to possibly get horribly hurt. I have reffed intramural sports that were co-ed. We had to calm guys down that were going at it too hard and hurting the women. Bunch of idiots. mspart
  8. So your solution is to experiment on the vulnerable. Nice solution. Oh but there's only a small amount of them so let's experiment on them possibly ruining their lives. Now that's a sane and safe solution. And oh so very compassionate. mspart
  9. How well will the decision hold up in appeal? If she can't remember the year she says this assault happened, I'm not inclined to think her chances are great. She got by this time, an appellate court might actually look at the thing. If I was a judge and someone came to me with a lawsuit saying Trump assaulted her, I would ask, when did this happen. If the answer is I'm unclear on when it happened but by golly it did happen, I would throw it out as frivolous or something. If you are assaulted, you would know what year it happened. Period. mspart
  10. Federal law allows for legal immigration. It specifically does not support illegal immigration. The American people feel the same. https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2023/06/21/americans-remain-critical-of-governments-handling-of-situation-at-us-mexico-border/ Illegal immigration is an unwanted surplus of immigration not planned for, not wanted, not legal. It is an abrogation of the Presdent's oath of office to uphold the Constitution and faithfully discharge the duties of the office. The President, by allowing such absolute violation of our immigration laws and by stopping steps by border states to do something about it is a dereliction of duty. He should and could be impeached for this. And should have been, except the Ds want the country overrun with illegal immigrants for some reason. Ds will not allow a conviction for such an apparent dereliction of duty. Ds in Chicago and NYC and Martha's Vineyard do not feel the same way now that they are experiencing the wonderful joys of housing and taking care of such people. Their citizens are also not happy that their tax money is going to these illegal aliens rather than going to the citizens as is the social compact of living in a city. It is unjust to the citizens of the country to spend their money taking care of people who have entered the country illegally under false pretenses. mspart
  11. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6626312/ Transgender individuals who undergo gender-affirming medical or surgical therapies are at risk for infertility. Suppression of puberty with gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist analogs (GnRHa) in the pediatric transgender patient can pause the maturation of germ cells, and thus, affect fertility potential. Testosterone therapy in transgender men can suppress ovulation and alter ovarian histology, while estrogen therapy in transgender women can lead to impaired spermatogenesis and testicular atrophy. https://segm.org/ajp_correction_2020 Correction of a Key Study: No Evidence of “Gender-Affirming” Surgeries Improving Mental Health Allowing scientific debate in transgender medicine improves evidence basis In October 2019, the American Journal of Psychiatry (AJP) published a study from the Karolinska Institute in Sweden, and the Yale School of Public Health which reported that “gender-affirming" surgeries for gender dysphoric patients are associated with improved mental health outcomes (1). Looking at mental health utilization in the year 2015, a retrospective analysis showed that the more time passed since surgery, the fewer mental services were utilized by patients, with an average 8% reduction in mental health utilization for each year following surgery. From this, the study concluded that surgery has a beneficial effect on mental health, and that benefits continue to accrue over time. However, following a reanalysis of the data, this conclusion has now been officially corrected to indicate that there is “no advantage of surgery.” So gender affirming care including puberty blockers and hormones raises the risk of infertility. This is chemical sterilization. So to support gender affirming care of this sort is to support the sterilization of minors. And don't say this is not aimed at minors because they would be the only ones using puberty blockers. Don't be daft. Gender affirming surgeries was first found that it resulted in decreased use of mental health services. But after a lot of people objected and said the study was wrong, the data was analyzed and found that there was no change actually. Mental health services requests did not change after gender affirming surgery. Now if you are an adult and opt for this, you should be aware of this. But a minor should never be physically sterilized via gender affirming care. This is monstrous to do to our children. So the Ohio legislature is completely, 100%, and in all other ways completely correct in overriding the veto. We now know that these things are true. But if we didn't and were wondering about it, that would not be reason to not accept this kind of care for minors. It is not care, it is sexual, psychological, and physical abuse of minors. mspart
  12. WA has three floating bridges. Two across Lake Washington from the east side into Seattle, or from Seattle to the east side if you prefer. These are freshwater bridges. There is another called the Hood Canal Bridge that spans a part of Puget Sound (salt water). This happens to be the longest salt water floating bridge in the world, perhaps the universe!! The floating bridge is a unique structure with pontoons underneath filled with air to keep the bridge floating on the water. Concrete is the main material used. There have been a few instances of the bridges sinking due to high winds and waves. The I-90 bridge was under maintenance during a rough storm and someone left the access to the pontoon open. It filled with water and took a section or two down. There used to be just one bridge there but another was built to take care of one way traffic. It wasn't too long after the second bridge became operational that the the other sank. So we still had a working bridge, just half the capacity as before but the same as some time before that. Apparently something similar happened to the Hood Canal Bridge. The WA Highway 520 bridge is pictured below going across Lake Washington from Bellevue to UW. Husky Stadium is at the end of the bridge on the upper right. Puget Sound is seen at the top of the photo. I just thought this might be interesting to the folks on the board. The bridges are a unique feature in the PNW. They are kind of fun to drive across. They used to have a section in the middle (I think Hood Canal still does) that would open to boat traffic. The bridges on Lake Washington no longer have that feature, I guess they just go around. You can take a boat to Puget Sound through the Ballard Locks from Lake Washington but I don't think there is any real big boat traffic that does this. So they probably head towards shore to go under the bridge as shown. The lake is blue in this picture. It does not often look like that. This must have been taken on one of the rare non overcast days. mspart
  13. Oh and he likes to support Hamas and say he really doesn't like them. That is his favorite go to. mspart
  14. He never does. He just likes to get peoples undies in a bunch. mspart
  15. So you want an irrelevant independent candidate in the Presidential race once every 4 years with no ground game to get him/her the support he/she needs to be successful. I guess you are right. Such a candidate is not relevant. mspart
  16. They are so advanced!! mspart
  17. You guys are hilarious. I guess this thread has run its course. mspart
  18. It is relevant. If we only get an independent running for Pres every 4 years, what is the draw? A vote for them is not much of a statement. If there was a viable 3rd party that was getting people in the Congress, that would be a better message to send. Once every 4 years makes such a candidate irrelevant. mspart
  19. Poor Ken. But he's up for an Oscar. mspart
  20. Ken was not snubbed. mspart
  21. What chance does Kennedy Jr have? How about Peter Sonski? Cornell West? Joe Manchin if he runs as an independent? Ross Perot was a spoiler. At the risk of being that person, who is a viable candidate that is not an R or D? It would be nice if an independent could grab enough attention to get elected. But it doesn't happen. This isn't Madam Secretary. mspart
