  1. Maybe one of the the funniest quotes of the day. mspart
  2. Funniest quote of the day!!! mspart
  3. He said someone was going to die to day and he didn't care if he went back to Rikers. There's an implied threat there. Whether you want to see it or not. People were scared, they testified to that, and regardless of your experience and expectations, they were afraid for their safety with this guy. mspart
  4. These passengers you speak of testified in the trial to the things you find it extremely hard to believe. mspart
  5. Neither did Penny. mspart
  6. And just who is that whack job again? mspart
  7. I'm not trying to be obtuse. Just giving you a chance to explain your SS and medicare cut program that you speak so highly of. I do agree with your last statement. I always thought SS would not be available for me. It goes insolvent in the 2030s. Too many of us baby boomers and a veritable ponzi scheme to fund SS. Not a good solution, but that is what we have. mspart
  8. So you don't have a concrete proposal, you just want to do something. There are infinite ways to do things, but I thought you had an idea of what to do . Try this and see what it does? Does not sound like a solid approach, especially since there are analysts that can do this with out having to go the hunt and peck method. mspart
  9. Raise the age to what? Cut benefits how? Do both? One or other? mspart
  10. I think you are mistaken. You might read up on it. mspart
  11. You know it wasn't too long ago that words (I'm anti-abortion, I'm anti-trans, etc) were considered violence and could be met with violence. But now that it went the wrong way, words are not considered violence. Make your your minds all you lefties. It is either violence or it is not violence. You can't have it both ways. The words used in this case were absolutely violent leading Penny to take action. I' bet he wishes he just left aft the next stop too. So much for trying to protect innocent people. mspart
  12. He said the opposite in his recent interview. mspart
  13. I feel a pardon for unknown offenses is offensive. Schiff lied to the country as a sitting House representative. Perhaps no legal action should go against him but in so doing he threatened jail for Trump. That was the upshot of what Shiff wanted. mspart
  14. How should cuts to SS and medicare go RV? mspart
  15. Hey neutral, Riddle us this. Why was Penny the only one prosecuted when there were at last two others helping him restrain Neely? And one of the was black. It is apparent that more than one person thought Neely was a threat. But I'm sure you would feel much better if he knifed or clubbed someone before being restrained. Why should someone have to stay in the presence of someone threatening their life? Because they are trapped on a subway train, that's why. On the street, a different story. Many on the train testified in favor of Penny. So take your fake outrage and put it to better use, like say with well reasoned arguments. mspart
  16. But Al Gore wouldn't like to me would he? Of course he did. I've been in the real world. SS was not supposed to be part of the budget, but it became so when people in Congress decided there was too much money there and they needed it more. When does this happen in the private sphere and it is not punished by prison. mspart
  17. So those that say there are more important things to think about take great exception when it is turned around on them. mspart
  18. That is good news. I was just about to post this myself. He should never have had to go through this. mspart
  19. Lives saved do not matter. Based on the above post, this is a racial prosecution pure and simple. Charges should be dropped. mspart
  20. How about the best wrestler in 2000 to not get an olympic medal? I vote B. Saitiev. mspart
  21. So in summary, the vaunted European health care system is in crisis in England, France, Germany, Slovenia, Portugal, and Italy. It must be working well somewhere. mspart
  22. When was the last time you heard about the SS lockbox? Not dumb. It was never intended to be part of the normal budgeting process until someone decided to raid all the funds in the SS "lockbox". Now the lock box is full of IOUs. That's it. mspart
  23. UBs German utopia https://www.euronews.com/health/2024/02/05/germanys-health-crisis-why-europes-biggest-economy-is-fending-off-a-chronic-doctor-shortag Germany's health crisis: Why Europe's biggest economy is fending off a chronic doctor shortage In Germany, one in four doctors are leaving the profession. What is being done to nurse the healthcare system back to health? Germany is regarded by many to be a country of efficiency. People in other countries often assume that German trains depart on time, the Internet runs at a normal speed and the healthcare system is flawless. But for the latter, at least, the data shows they are wrong. December saw a closure of scores of doctors' practices across Germany, as many went on strike to protest worsening working conditions. But it's not just German doctors who are angry; Slovenian and Portuguese doctors have also walked off the job. In Italy, doctors and nurses protested in December. And in January, British junior doctors began their longest industrial action in the history of the UK's National Health Service (NHS). Oh so other countries are also in crisis. UB and RV must be so informed. mspart
  24. UBs franco utopia! https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-64216269 France's health system under pressure of increasing demands The UK's health system is buckling under the weight of staff shortages and a lack of beds. In France, meanwhile, there are more doctors and many more nurses, yet its healthcare system is still in crisis. President Emmanuel Macron has promised to change the way its hospitals are funded, and to free doctors from time-consuming administration, in a bid to break what he called a "sense of endless crisis" in its health service. mspart
