  1. Maybe, but my problem is with my laptop. Sometimes it is fine, but the longer I'm on, the worse it gets. Maybe I just need to come in and go out from time to time. mspart
  2. It's a bidding war!!!!! mspart
  3. But can you drive it? mspart
  4. Biden did this one. https://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/local/biden-grants-clemency-man-convicted-1999-killing-mother-son-bridgeport/3480717/ mspart
  5. Offthemat - you are missing the point. The fires and their destruction are not the fault of the government, period. No amount of information to the contrary is allowed or will be processed. All that does in disrupt the narrative a certain group is trying to make stick. It doesn't matter if the reservoir was dry and closer to the fire. If it had been full there would have been less pipe flow resistance because of the shorter pipes because the reservoir was closer. That's not the government's fault. It doesn't matter if the grasses and shrubs surrounding the area were cut short or not. Short or tall grasses and shrubs all burn the same. That's not the government's fault. It doesn't matter if The Fire Budget was decreased. That's not the government's fault. It doesn't matter if the governor let the volunteers go. That's not the government's fault. It doesn't matter if the bond measure that passed 6 years ago to raise taxes to increase reservoir volume was never started, that is not the government's fault. What is it that you don't understand? mspart
  6. I've looked on the google and this info is only on facebook and X and one other place. No MSM site has this listed so far. But snopes has it. And tries to debunk it. https://www.snopes.com/news/2025/01/28/trump-75000-children-found/ So it is pretty amazing that Snopes felt the need to say this is wrong when it isn't even a thing yet. They said the IG's report is bunkus and not to be believed. The 300k kids are noted not to have been given notices to appear in court. Snopes takes that to mean they are not necessarily missing. However the IG report right after stating that number says: ICE must take immediate action to ensure the safety of UCs (undocumented children) residing in the United States. Based on our audit work and according to ICE officials, UCs who do not appear for court are considered at higher risk for trafficking, exploitation, or forced labor. That's sounds like they may be in trouble and are therefore not located. So Snopes cherry picked. You can't have it both ways. Anyway, that is what I found. mspart
  7. And you have it absolutely correct from the HS thing. The HS kid that was targeted by the native and by the media sued the media and got money. https://www.cnn.com/2020/01/07/media/cnn-settles-lawsuit-viral-video/index.html https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/24/media/washington-post-sandmann-settlement-lawsuit/index.html NBC also settled. So yes, you had this absolutely correct. mspart
  8. I'm guessing if FEMA survives, they won't pass over those with Trump signs anymore. There are too many reports of this kind of activity with Helene in various part of the eastern seaboard, with this person admitting to doing it as part of FEMA and stating that it was standard procedure to avoid hostile situations. They determined homes with Trump signs to be hostile before talking to the victims of the storm there. mspart
  9. It got better when I killed the browser and came back in. Like a microsoft operating system. Turn it off and it will clear itself. What a stupid way to operate. mspart
  10. Right, so they are under federal law and the law grants them citizenship. I don't see how they go after Navajos. Have any Navajos or other Indians been deported or kept in jail? I just read a CNN report where they have apprehended but have not held Indian peoples. mspart
  11. So what I am hearing is that the government did everything possible to prevent this fire but it happened anyway. Therefore all this complaining about the government is completely 100% unfounded. I just have to say I'm not buying that. I don't think they could have prevented the fire but I think they could have mitigated the effects with good maintenance management. They know it will come. Prepare. I get how water pressure goes down with demand. But if the situation had been better prepared for, there wouldn't have been the need to have all the hydrants going at the same time. Granted, I am an armchair quarter back here. I think the disconnect here is that this was a neighborhood. Not some forest land with thousands of acres to burn between like between Redding and Dunsmuir. This went through a neighborhood boasting very rich and famous people. It seems like the fire could have been addressed before it got completely out of control. Maybe that wasn't possible. We'll learn that as time goes on whether that was the case or not. mspart
  12. This was famously tried in Oregon where the people voted in a law to in effect decriminalize hard drugs. This same law set up centers where people could get clean. The net result was more homeless fentynyl addicts and the fentanyl were wasted property , no one went. They just recently got rid of that law because it was not working. I remember a story of a chinese emperor who had to fight drug use among his people because it was making them unproductive. Back then he could use draconian measures and eradicate it and the people. Can't do that these days. But the end effect is the same. Drugs are to be shunned because it makes people unproductive and addicts them to the drug. It is almost impossible to get rid of that addiction. The same is true in Seattle where drugs are not prosecuted. We have a burgeoning homeless population that grows every year and most are addicts. And they are a big problem. They are very much like the illegals have been where the laws that apply to most all of us do not apply to them. Allowing drug use is not the answer. But one thing is true that I think we can all agree on, the appetite of the american consumer for drugs keeps on growing, hence the cartels keep growing and the amount of drugs entering the country grows. That is our fault for sure. The cartels are just exploiting the situation. mspart
  13. Reservations don't have to abide by state law I think. But do they have to abide by federal law? If so, then they are within the jurisdiction and 14th amendment would apply. I would think. mspart
  14. That's if you trust they won't remove the passport and destroy it and all records for it and ship you out anyway. That seems to be where you are coming down on this. If they are detaining navajos, that is wrong. mspart
  15. And in some cases this was illegal activity. mspart
  16. In addition, keeping these events alive in history is the way we will not repeat that history. At least that is the goal. That doesn't mean guilt must be displayed. But learning about these things is the best antidote to having them happen again. mspart
  17. Because abdicating the war on drugs has been such a panacea for us right? mspart
  18. The point is the total picture. 1. Have enough water - empty reservoirs during santa ana wind fire season is not something that a responsible outfit would allow. 2. Cut and maintain the brush low so there is no fuel to cause a raging fire. 3. Development and maintenance of fire breaks surrounding these neighborhoods. 4. You are correct, once such a firestorm begins, it is very difficult to stop. The firefighters probably did what they could humanely do. But if the above three things are not done, it is tough to fight such a fire. The above 3 things are preventative things that should have been done to make the fire less malevolent. Whose responsibility is it to take care of the above? That's right, the state government. And they did not and we have what we have. mspart
  19. So why wasn't this happening a year ago? Why is this only happening now? Shipping out felons that are here illegally, why have we been protecting them for years? Get them out is the right answer. mspart
  20. Not listening to him now but Jake Shimabukuru plays an mean ukulele. mspart
  21. $0.0001 per listen, $0.001 per download. mspart
  22. Yes, as I said earlier, those that destroyed property or assaulted cops or others should not be pardoned. But the majority of folks did not participate in that. mspart
  23. I'm learning some new songs on my guitar. Back in Black and Working for MCA. Both great songs. Also trying to concoct a lead for my friend's song Riverside blues. We were in a band together in college. I really love this song. Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Top Pro Marshall Origin 20 head (set on lowest volume which is plenty loud in the house) 2X12 speaker cabinet with Celestion Vintage 30 speakers. I bought the speakers and installed them. The cab is homemade and I bought it on offer up. $80. Screaming deal. Even makes my Marshall Code 50 sound better. I am not that good, just noodle around. mspart
  24. It is great that we are sending people to these. I agree about Nashon. He may be getting to that point. mspart
