  1. Musk votes blue… so does not align conservative… he just isn’t crazy left. Twitter is going to die any day now
  2. Is 'running out of money' and 'pending collapse' wishful thinking? Twitter was roughly break even in April. Musk is winning his goal for Twitter: it is the best source for truth, timely and more accurate than big news, and less censored.
  3. I will listen to RFK Jr and consider him even though we don’t agree on all issues.
  4. The courts are bringing back accountability and common sense. Students should fulfill their responsibility of repaying the loans they willingly took on. Anyone that says Jimmy should pay back his gambling debts would surely agree... That said... the cost of education is too damn high and I'm on board with providing more affordable options moving forward.
  5. Dude, merit matters topic?
  6. Presidential candidates react to Supreme Court's affirmative action ruling Mike Pence: "There is no place for discrimination based on race in the United States, and I am pleased that the Supreme Court has put an end to this egregious violation of civil and constitutional rights in admissions processes, which only served to perpetuate racism. I am honored to have played a role in appointing three of the Justices that ensured today’s welcomed decision, and as President I will continue to appoint judges who will strictly apply the law rather than twisting it to serve woke and progressive ends." Vivek Ramaswamy: "Affirmative action is a badly failed experiment: time to put a nail in the coffin & restore colorblind meritocracy." Song to celebrate (Verse 1) I'm bringing merit back, yeah! Ain't no time for all that race flack, no! It's time to level up the playing field, oh yeah! 'Cause picking winners based on race ain't real, oh! (Pre-Chorus) So let's focus on achievement, oh! Bring back fairness, let it show! It's not about color, it's about the best, yeah! Merit's the key, it's time to invest, oh! (Chorus) I'm bringing merit back, yeah! No more dividing, let's get on track, oh! Picking winners based on their skill, oh yeah! Let's celebrate the ones who fulfill, oh! (Verse 2) Gone are the days of unfair selection, yeah! We need a system based on true reflection, oh! No more quotas, let talent prevail, yeah! It's time for equal opportunities, no fail! (Pre-Chorus) (Chorus) (Bridge) This is about fairness, oh yeah! No more discrimination, let's be aware, oh! Together we can build a brighter tomorrow, yeah! Where merit triumphs over sorrow, oh! (Chorus) (Outro) So let's unite and make a change, oh yeah! Let's bring back merit, rearrange, oh! It's time to embrace the values we hold strong, yeah! No more picking winners based on the wrong, oh!
  7. It's a buy for me at ~$45 with a one year price target of $72. The culture wars will dictate how quickly this goes back to $80 and $100.
  8. Twitter is still better. Listen to RFK Jr in his own words today.
  9. The "we make the beer" commercial is good.
  10. Bob nails this with his influence comments. Active parenting cuts down on influential factors like emotional control, video games, social media, mental illness, and substance abuse. The easiest way to influence change is to manipulate the environment. If you remove the guns, the mass shootings stop. Similarly, if you replace the plates in your house with smaller plates, your household will lose weight. No education or incentive is required for the intended change to occur.
  11. Since creating and running his hedge fund between 1987 and retiring in 2001, according to the Motley Fool, Jim returned an annual average of 24% (besting Warren Buffet). https://www.fool.com/investing/general/2014/10/06/how-jim-cramer-made-his-millions.aspx I don't watch Mad Money or follow his picks. Given the criticism of Jim, I wonder if the LJIM ETF (Long Cramer, up 7%) and SJIM (Inverse Cramer, down 9%) will hold moving forward. Jim is a real know nothing after all.
  12. @Wrestleknownothing Is the Blackrock employee talking about index funds, or hedge funds? Hedge Funds. Depends on the many contexts of "influence." If politicians and judges can be bought for thousands,$40B is plenty to influence enough to impact policy and outcome. $100 is enough to manipulate penny stocks... $40B is plenty enough to make a more significant impact on policies, news, impact, and such. Cramer is the hedge fund manager explaining how he manipulated the market. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyaPf6qXLa8
  13. Does the Fund Manager make the investment decisions? Why did the Blackrock cofounder Ralph Schlosstein say that Blackrock is "the most influential financial institution in the world?" What impact does CEO Larry Fink have on ESG investing as a way to apply non-financial factors like climate change initiatives and DEI programs to the analysis of investments? What is 'proxy voting' concerning 'investors,' and how does this relate to Blackrock's influence? Does BlackRock manage hedge funds (yes, ~40B)? What is this former hedge fund manager describing? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyaPf6qXLa8. Interestingly, Blackrock is criticized both for ESG and wokeness while also criticized for harmful investments. Some say Blackrock belongs in the corporate hall of shame - https://corporateaccountability.org/blog/blackrock-for-2022-corporate-hall-of-shame/. Blackrock has been referred to as the fourth branch of government - https://web.archive.org/web/20220702134344/https://www.bqprime.com/businessweek/how-larry-fink-s-blackrock-is-helping-the-fed-with-bond-buying#bypass-sw I'll stick with my belief that Blackrock manipulates the market, including the method described by the Blackrock employee that fits the industry stereotype.
  14. Blackrock says war is good. They want the war to continue as long as possible. The moment the news hits... they are pump and dumping. Who decides what is note worthy? What is the end game? Profit. What propaganda is being pushed now, and how is it generating profit?
  15. Assumptions that anyone critical of pride month is hateful and a homophobe… Clowns. The slacktivism does more harm than good.
  16. Trades since this post: Cashed out of Treasury Bills Sold 80% of Coty stake (will re-enter under $10.50) Bought into SoFi for under $5 and double downed at $9. Started positions in beaten-down Disney, AT&T, Southwest Airlines, Western Union, Alibaba, Verizon, Dish Network, and Advance Auto Parts Holding 40% cash reserves. YTD returns: 36.8%.
  17. Just read the dog chatter. Top notch commentary all around.
  18. i18n may have been different but the college forum has been Cinnabon since the beginning.
  19. Kansas Melvin Douglas >>> 2xNC-D1 | 4xAA-D1 | 1x World Champ | 6x World Team Member | 2x Olympian Myron Roderick >>> 3xNC-D1 | Olympian Eric Akin >>> 4xAA-D1 | 3x World Team Member Peter Merhinger >>> 1x Olympic Champion while a sophomore in college. Kendrick Maple >>> 1xNC-D1 | 3xAA-D1 Zach Roberson >>> 1xNC-D1 | 3xAA-D1 Tyler Caldwell >>> 4xAA-D1 Eric Luedke >>> 2xNC-NJCAA | 2xAA-D1 Temoer Terry >>> 3xAA-D1 Tanner Gardner >>> 3xAA-D1 Shawn Bunch was pretty good! I am sure to be missing guys. It is hard to find information when there are no Kansas D1 schools. Note: I'm not sure all these guys were born in Kansas, but they are Kansas-claimed and did not make the World team this year ;).
