The USA was one of the first to explicitly set up a *separation* of church and state in the constitution to allow folks to follow or not follow whatever they want.10 points

If more Jesus means more hookers then I think a lot of people could get behind that.7 points

No. I just want him to tell me about wrestling when interviewed. Changes in training. Influences of coaches, family and traiming partners. Maybe talk about nutrition and/or strength and conditioning. Wrestling stuff. Mindset is fine and you can certainly thank God or praise him if that is the driving force brhind your mindset, but share the other stuff too. This isn't strictly a Snyder criticism. its horrendous to listen to. Its an echo chamber. I won't say its virtue signaling because im not sure it is, but it certainly isn't entertaining and a lot of work and sacrifice go into succeeding at the highest levels. Some fans want to hear about that instead of religion.4 points

The United States is a Religious Freedom-focused country. Some choose to exercise that via christianity. But let’s not conflate a collection of individual choices with the structural intent of the country. I heard a story about this guy, he walked into a bagel shop, ordered an onion bagel with extra strawberry cream cheese. He sits down and starts yelling at all the customers who come in “This is an Onion Bagel and Strawberry Cream Cheese Shop!” while sitting in front of 30 racks of different bagels and 20 flavors of cream cheese. Some people really want to make it their business what sorts of bagels other people eat. But it never will be. Just let people eat their bagels in peace. Everyone is staring down a long work day and a crappy commute, the bagel just helps make it a bit better.4 points

What do people want wrestlers & athletes to believe in, if not their faith? The United States is a Christian-focused country, and a lot of its upper echelon will proclaim their faith as their driving factor. Is this not probably the same in other countries with their corresponding religion? Instead of going to a dark place and becoming an asshole during a rough patch of life, he leaned on faith. Do we have to hate that?4 points

As a believer, I do not care to hear about one’s faith during sports events. Religion and politics - two wedge driven topics that needs to stay the heck out of sports - especially our sport.3 points

George Washington may have said it best, if not first: “Religious controversies are always more productive of acrimony and irreconcilable hatreds than those which spring from any other cause.” To prevent such controversies, Washington ordered Continental Army commanders “to protect and support the free exercise…and undisturbed enjoyment of…religious matters." ------------------------- Washington’s friend, the widely heralded polemicist Thomas Paine tried ending the controversy. “I do not believe in…any church,” he declared. In a call to arms against what he called church-state tyranny in early America, he insisted that “every national church or religion accuses the others of unbelief; for my own part, I disbelieve them all.” -------------------------- John Adams, who had signed the Declaration of Independence, inked his presidential signature on the 1796 Treaty of Tripoli affirming to Americans and the world that “the United States is not, in any sense, a Christian nation.” The 23 members present in the U.S. Senate (out of 32) ratified the document unanimously. --------------------- The idea of a Jesus figure sound nice but the reality of those who are believers is the biggest reason to stay away from it.3 points

Unless I missed something, I’m surprised his absence from WTT isn’t being talked about more. One of our greatest FS wrestlers of all time sits out for the first time in 14 years and I can’t find any info as to why. Has there been any announcement or discussion why? I thought for sure we would see him given the shifts in weights and a favorable 79kg field. The topic has just seemed a little quiet given his stature. Any info? Injury?2 points

Interesting. We’ll never know the right thing to think until sweep or Viking or tiny tell us. So I guess we can wait for that.2 points

NY may not have the depth of a PA, Oh, NJ but their top tier guys that come out every 5-10 years they some of the best the US has to offer. If Duke wins 4 titles, NY would have 3 of the 8 wrestlers to claim that (2 of which were at Cornell) which is pretty crazy when you take into account what Ohio/NJ/PA produces amongst other top wrestling states. Really exciting stuff for NY and will be excited to see how this goes.2 points

It's incredible how lost Jesus must be if so many people find him. Sounds like he's pretty bad at hiding.2 points

One day we are going to find out the shenanigans his people and party put him through in this last team. I believe it will be the most shocking / shameful presidential term in history. Problem is we won’t get the real deets until enough time passes that it will be like. Meh. That was 30 years ago who cares….. and the machine will keep on keepin on.1 point

You’re someone that doesn’t give a sh*t … and that’s fine. (Or you are an imbecile, given that you’ve seen Yianni’s name written many times I’m sure). I’m not like you. I think someone like Yianni deserves respect from the fan base. And part of showing respect is spelling his name right. Given your reaction, it is clear you disagree thoroughly and completely. Again, I’m not like you. And that is OK.1 point

Any chance Marcus Blaze transfers to Oklahoma State because of Ono?1 point

Sure, but keep it to yourself, family and close friends. The majority of us don’t want to hear it. Happy Sunday oko!1 point

He is going to Oklahoma State based on the rumors I am hearing. No idea who replaces him but hopefully they do a national search and dont just promote with-in.1 point

No, the interesting thing for me re: Dake is he found Jesus while training at Penn State. So I wouldn’t be surprised if Cael is preaching it a bit (at least at the RTC practices)1 point

Carr was the youngest Olympian in U.S. wrestling history, competing at the 1972 Summer Olympics while still in high school as a 17-year-old. He also competed at the 1971 World Wrestling Championships at 52 kg (114.5 pounds) as a 16-year-old.1 point

Tomato cans. so when questioned about the early tomato cans on the schedule at the good good psu….. a typical answer is all the freestyle training going on in happy valley. That so many of them are making big runs for tournaments like this or final x etc. convenient answer to say the least. Now…. Cstar just needs time to peak. No mention of staying in college for extra years to get his 5th.1 point

A lot can change between now and then, absolutely. This is just a guess based on current commits/roster configuration. Braeden Davis will likely still be on the roster in 2028 assuming he redshirts either this year or next depending on the plan with Ono and Blaze.1 point

Phenomenal young wrestler, knows how to win, but good God almighty were his matches boring. Aside from the 4 pointer against Bo Bassett, he seems very content to win the shot clock battle. Was a bit surprising to me he didn't put it on some guys. I know I'm probably being too harsh, but anyone else feeling this? Is he gonna be somebody with tremendous abilities that goes the frustrating "do nothing" Bartlett route, or will PSU get him to open up and get some bonus points? Perhaps it was just due to the caliber of competition? Lemme hear your thoughts!1 point

I am, and he's one of the first Russian greats.....10 Olympic and World Gold and a silver and bronze (12 in all) Jordanov (Bulgaria has 12) Baumgartner has 13!1 point

My hope is that he was just tentative to take a shot against bigger, stronger opponents. I don't remember him being so brutal to watch at 61kg. But I felt the same way, I almost created a thread wondering if we found Bartlett's heir apparent. If he wrestles at 141 next year, I fear that we may be in line for some brutal matches. What's the opposite of guns Blaze-ing? Guns holstered? Might have to start workshopping a nickname just in case.1 point
