I'll bet you any amount of money you want that neither Bartlett, Mendez nor Alirez win 133 this year. Name your price.5 points

I saw that there was a dual earlier this season where the coaches agreed to extra matches. I would like to see that at every dual. It would also be nice if the TV/Streaming service showed those matches. But in the case of this dual, there is a perfect scenario for extra matches. Lehigh should want to showcase Stanich and Brignola, and PSU has plenty of young guns who'd accept that challenge. Can we get back to having extra matches?3 points

I personally believe this is a joke of a prosecution. What are we about as a nation? Who do we value? A person who tries to save life, or the person threatening the lives of people trapped on tan subway train? It is obvious what Alvin Bragg values and that is the dirt bag that threatened the health and life of many on the train car who happens to be a man of color and a homeless drug addict. Bragg obviously feels that Neely is the type of person that adds more to society than Penny, who is white and was just going to his job and he restrained the more worthy drugged out crazy guy who was threatening the others on the train car. In fact, there were others that assisted Penny in restraining Neely. But Neely is more worthy than Penny, those that helped him, and those that were victimized by Neely. What this tells us is to allow crazy drugged out people to do what they do. They are blameless. Projected victims have no rights whatsoever to be safe. I certainly hope Penny is found not guilty. mspart2 points

Wrestlestat has Lehigh winning at 125, 133 and Penn State gets the rest. Not so sure about that. I pick Crookham at 133 of course, but I pick PSU's freshman 125 Lilledahl to beat Seymour from Lehigh. Wrestlestat has Barr over Beard from Lehigh, but I am picking the veteran Beard in that match. Wrestlestat has Kerkvliet winning by 2 over Trephan, but I think he wins more easily than that. E ither Kerk gets the major or is working towards it at the end. Wrestlestat also has Van Ness by 4 points over Griffin from Lehigh, but I think Van Ness gets bonus there.2 points

Is it possible to put a person in a hold like that without choking of air or blood? Of course, it is a subdue-ing hold that can also make it so he cannot fight and get away. He can continually struggle which is what he did. That is apparent because it took others to help subdue him. A review of the toxicology and further autopsy showed that he was not deprived of blood or breath. If true, did Penny koll him? I think the situation of him threatening harm to others is sufficient to subdue him. Better than after he assaults and possibly seriously injures someone. I have no problem with what Penny did'.2 points

Anyone who gives a rip about influence peddling. This isn't any junk coin. This is a junk coin where 75% of the proceeds go to Trump. Where the payor is being charged with fraud by the government that the payee is about to lead. You spend a lot of time calling people dummies around here. Stop being one.2 points

Tom Homan: https://www.koat.com/article/border-czar-tom-homan-sanctuary-cities-deportation/63036106 A warning to sanctuary states was given by incoming "Border Czar" Tom Homan, citing a federal law that prohibits people from protecting illegal immigrants and saying, "This is a felony to knowingly harbor concealed illegal immigration authorities. Don't test us." KOAT legal expert John Day said there's not much a state can do to resist a federal order, but if they do try to resist, he said there could be consequences. "There is a law that says if you knowingly conceal or harbor someone who's an unauthorized person, you theoretically can face federal prosecution or face fines," Day said. "What we haven't seen is if and how it applies to mayors, to governors, to people who are elected officials in states, and that's where I think the real battle may develop." Tom Homan is not messing around. mspart2 points

Looking for a suckers bet? The military needs purged. There are as many General officers now as at the end of WWII when the military was more than four times as large. You said US civilians - not US citizens - there is no doubt the National Guard, Armed Forces, and Reserves are likely to be involved in deportations. Some may be housed on military installations. Get over it.2 points

OVERVIEW: A SPLIT SQUAD In the recent Coach's Corner podcast, ILLINI Wrestling Coach Mike Poeta indicated that the Cougar Clash, which is next Saturday, was initially the only thing on the schedule next weekend. Then, the B1G offered the Fan Fest dual in Indianapolis the day before the conference football championship. It also fell on the day before the Cougar Clash. Still, Coach Poeta said it was easy to agree to the offer. So, next Friday, December 6, the ILLINI will be in Indianapolis for the dual with the Hoosiers. The next day, Saturday, a split squad will show up to the Cougar Clash in Edwardsville. To wrestle in both events, the ILLINI starters in Indianapolis would need to get on the bus by 6:30 pm (Central), take a three-and-one-half-hour drive (225 miles) to Edwardsville, arriving around 10:00 to 11:00 pm (Central) for a tournament starting the next morning. Not impossible, but also not conducive to winning matches. All of the other big name schools at the Cougar Clash (Missouri, Minnesota, Little Rock, NIU and SIUE) have at least six days off before the Clash. Coach talks about the Fan Fest event near the end of the video at 33:40: WHAT: B1G TAKEDOWN at the FAN FEST WHO: ILLINI dual Indiana WHERE: Indiana Convention Center, Indianapolis, IN WHEN: Friday, December 6 @ 4:00 PM Central TV/STREAMING: BTN TICKETS: Ticket Prices are $12 adults, $6 children age 3-12 (Gets you into Fan Fest) A DAY IN HISTORY It was February 13, 2005, a Sunday. Your little brother still has three days to wait until the release of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, and he swears he's gonna stay locked up in his room until Moms buys him a copy of that video game. Hitch made Sony Pictures over ten million at the box office on the day. Feathery-voiced Mario topped the Billboard charts with Let Me Love You. But the real entertainment happened that Sunday afternoon in Huff Hall, as your soon-to-be 2005 B1G wrestling champions destroyed #19 Indiana by the score of 37-0. Mark Jayne captured his 99th varsity win, while Anton Dietzen and Kyle Ott each scored six points for the team. It was a long bus ride home to Roundballville for the Loosiers. Here's the box score: TEAM MATCHUP In all of the 2000s, the record between the two schools is thirteen wins for the ILLINI and zero wins for Indiana. Wow! That's an even worse record than Northwestern! It's been slow-going, but Angel Escobedo has steadily improved his team. Under the prior administration, they would have a nonconference schedule with D2 schools and lowest-tier D1 teams and end up with an undefeated record. Then, lose all of their B1G duals. According to Intermat, ILLINOIS' dual ranking is #11; Indiana's is #28. Wrestlestat.com has the ILLINI at #12, while the Hoosiers come in at #30. The prediction is for a 32-0 win for the good guys. Indiana is 4-0 on the season with wins over Cal Baptist, Cal Poly, a one-point win over #40 Central Michigan and a two-point win over #49 Columbia. The ILLINI are 5-0 with three wins over top twenty-five teams, including Missouri, ASU and North Carolina. Not a lot changing in the rankings these days, so.... Who has had the largest change in Elo among wrestlers ranked in both the 10/29 and 12/2 wrestlestat rankings? How 'bout them Illini?* * Let us not speak of Edmond Ruth's Elo. The team wide Elos are mostly impacted by individual wrestlers entering or leaving the rankings. For the team I include the number of wrestlers added or lost from the rankings (the first number listed), Along with the Dec.2 Elo for the team (second number listed). For Cornell, they added two ranked wrestlers and their current team Elo total is 15,104. The scale on the left shows the change in Elo (the bars). Cornell's Elo increased by almost 3,000 (2,972).1 point

Everyone should read Swim Swam https://swimswam.com/which-sports-are-being-hit-hardest-by-new-ncaa-roster-limits/ Men's wrestling is third largest loser, and fourth largest percentage loser, of roster spots. But, I do not think the powers that be care as women's wrestling is the second largest absolute gainer, and the largest percentage gainer by a very wide margin. While football loses the most in absolute terms they gain the most in scholarship terms (at least in scholarships that will actually be funded).1 point

When you engage with a person you don't have the benefit of knowing his extremely poor health condition and his extremely poor phycological condition. You don't have the benefit of knowing if the person is deadly serious in his threats to others in a very closed confined area. Neely died from his own struggle while being constrained. His health condition and mental health condition killed him. A normal healthy person survives that choke hold and restraint 100 percent of the time. Neely died from using poor judgement. He should have been in a hospital under medical care. Thats on Neely and those around him. His family and friends.1 point

Also, I think we might see Lopez out for Lehigh at 133. He has wrestled as many duals as Crookham this year, including the last one against Pitt. Also, Levine, Steen, or possibly McHenry might get the nod at 133 for Penn State instead of Davis.1 point

I'm anti-poaching of guys who weren't looking to transfer, and I'm anti recruiting-over of homegrown guys who put in the time and achieved a high degree of success. I have been, and will continue to be, vocally critical of any and every coach/program that does that. The fact that these abhorrent practices happen to overlap with my general dislike of Iowa is mere fortuity.1 point

You're just trying to be difficult now. Watch this, I've arbitrarily decided that Iowa State shouldn't get any points for 157, since it was an injury default where Teemwr was leading before the injury. Aww, man, tough break for the Clones, now they lost 11-9 in the arbitrary dual, too! They got outcoached on the mat, and they got outcoached in the portal race (because Iowa State is getting their asses kicked there, this should automatically be discounted, I know, but for right now, let's pretend it's a big part of college wrestling and thus part of the coach's success, just like high school recruitment.)1 point
