  1. I thought it was weird I'd never seen John Smith's complete FS stats/match records. Same goes for the other US GOATs. Tom Brands, Dan Gable, Cael Sanderson, etc. Turns out they didn't exist. Until today. I created a database with stats/match records for all "pro" wrestlers. Idk if anyone cares, but I thought it was cool. You can check out John Smith's record here: https://wrestlingrecords.com/wrestler/john-smith/

  3. With the new season around the corner, and transfer activity done (?), I thought I would take a look at returning team points. To make the graphics more legible I only include teams with double digit returning points. Let's start with the obvious. PSU returns the most points. Now let's look at some details. There were 1,437.5 points scored by 62 teams at last year's tournament. Of those 1,066.5 return (74.2%). So, at 77% returning (133 of 172.5), PSU is pretty much on average. But where are those points coming from? Some are returning to the same team and some are transferring. Below is the breakdown. Splashing cash gets results (or at least returning points). Iowa led all teams in total points acquired through the transfer portal. And good for them. I say pay the men. Oklahoma State is the other obvious big player in the transfer/NIL world. Given how close to the season their coaching change occurred, they may have been crunched for time. I would not be surprised to see them lead this rank next year. But still has work to do in % of returning points purchased. SDSU was the clear beneficiary of Iowa's largesse (all 1.5 points of it).

  4. My take is we will look back on Oct. 7th as the point when Iran miscalculated and went too far. They have created a situation where if they don’t respond they look weak, which is a big no no in the Middle East. It is very dangerous domestically for the regime. If they do respond, they risk getting drawn into a fight with Israel. In the last week Israel has shown that they have been pushed too far and the status quo that has existed recently is gone. All red lines that Iran and their proxies thought existed are gone. Iran’s strategy has not been to get into a war with Israel, but to use their proxies to make life unlivable there. What they didn’t count on was getting hit at home. Israel can easily take out their oil fields and refineries, which is probably check mate for the regime their. Israel has shown recently they will go their if needed. Make no mistake, taking out Nasrallah is a game changer.

  5. If it allows Israel’s northern population to return to their homes and restores Israel’s deterrence, yes. It changes a lot. If it causes Iran to be fearful of getting dragged in and back off, it changes a lot. Is it going to root out Islamic terrorism and end Hezbollah? No, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t make a difference.

  8. Smart way to keep AJ out of trouble. Just put a mirror in front of him. According to legend, he's still posing and admiring himself.

  13. He was a 4x Big 10 champ, right. That is pretty impressive. Most of those guys prob win at least one title. Kind of surprising he didn't get at least one, tbh. I just looked it up, and honestly not sure if it is 100% accurate, but I believe there are 16 4x B10 champs and he is the only one not to win NCAA.

  14. Well..yeah, there are a lot of guys who will. Jimmy only asks stupid questions, but Sinclair is going to have a massive impact, Lillendahl will, Blaze, Bassett, Forrest, Blaze. The question is who'll turn a program around...and nobody "turned" Iowa around. If I was taking this seriously, I'd say...whoever goes to Okie State and then IF they win 3 or 4 and a team Title.

  18. Hope he has a full recovery and we see him on the mat again soon. It was tough to see him injured in the olympic finals this year – you could tell he really didn't want to quit.
