Sunderland coached PSU for 11 years and had an overall record of 115-90-2. This is the worst record of any PSU coach except for Paul Campbell who coached for 4 years during WWII. Sunderland's best dual season was 2005-2006 when PSU was 13-4 and his worst was 2001-2002 when they were 6-12. Sunderland's best Big Ten tournament finish was 3rd, which he accomplished twice, and his average finish was 5.2. His worst finish was 10th in 2001. He coached 7 individual Big Ten champs. His best NCAA finish was 3rd in 2008, though his highest point total was 78.5 in his first season 1999 when PSU was 4th. Their average placement during his tenure was 14.6. They were in the top 5 2x, top 10 4x, top 25 10x. The only season they finished outside the top 25 was in 2002 (35th). Sunderland coached 27 AAs or about 2.45 per year. His best was 4AAs in 1999, 2003, and 2008. His worst was 0 in 2001. He coached 3 individual national champs (Pritzlaff 1999, Hunter 2001, and Davis 2008). PSU's performance under Sunderland was below their historical averages. His immediate predecessor, John Fritz, was the only PSU coach in the Big Ten era other than Sunderland and Sanderson. Fritz's record was 87-33-2 over 6 seasons with his best season being 22-0-1 in 1993 which was PSU's first season in the Big Ten. His worst was 5-12 in 1995. Under Fritz PSU was 2nd in the Big Ten 3x (1993, 1996, and 1998). His average finish was 3.17 and his worst was 6th in 1995. He coached 12 individual Big Ten champions which is 2/year on average. His team's best performance was 3 in both 1993 and 1994. The closest he came too a Big Ten tournament title was in 1993 when PSU scored 123.5 team points only 4.5 behind Iowa. At NCAAs Fritz's teams finished in the top 10 all 6 seasons and the top 5 all but one. Their best finish was 2nd in 1993. Their worst was 10th in 1995. Their average finish was 3.83. Fritz coached 21 AAs or 3.5/season. He had 5 AAs in both 1993 and 1998. The fewest AAs PSU had under Fritz was 1 in 1997. Three wrestlers won individual NCAA titles under Fritz - McCoy 2x, Hughes, and Abe.2 points

I worked with a guy who claimed he could stay within a body length of Michael Phelps for one length of the pool (50 meters). I laughed out loud at him and said he could not stay within a body length of Phelps on the start alone. He kept insisting. So I bet him $500 he could not stay within a body length of me for 50 meters. He stopped insisting.2 points

$15k isn’t going to go a long way toward getting family to the Olympics in Paris. As a kid, my stepdad was a US Olympian (not wrestling). We did all sorts of fundraising so that our family could attend the games and it still wasn’t enough to get everyone there (the kids stayed home). People couldn’t believe that we couldn’t afford to go without these fundraiser. I think society has conditioned us to believe Olympic athletes must be rich, just like their NFL/NBA/MLB counterparts, when the truth is many of them are just scraping by. If you don’t want to contribute, just move on. On the topic of “transfers” in international wrestling - I think it makes it more interesting. We are attending this year in Paris and cannot wait to watch the 57kg bracket because of all of the Americans in it. Will still be pulling for Spencer Lee though!2 points

Here's some fun trivia for you guys interested in transfers. Name the former D1 NQ who wrestled for 5 schools in 5 years across 4 divisions (D1, D2, NAIA, NJCAA). I'll give you a hint to start with. He transferred the last time because his institution closed.1 point

I had dinner tonight with a family I had never met. Husband, wife, three daughters. Swim trials were on TV. I asked the four women if they follow swimming during the Olympics. While they all said yes, it was not their favorite. Then I asked them if they watched wrestling during the Olympics. Mom said the matches were too long. Daughter 1 said they just lean on each other. Daughter 2 said their ears are gross. And Daughter 3 said the rules are too difficult to undersand. Not exactly scientific, but in line with things that have been said. Except for the ears. So, headgear?1 point

Swimmers look tired after the competition but they don't look like they are covered in sweat like wrestlers. Add in many think "I could do that" with a bit of practice in swimming.(basketball, etc - and even boxing) but not in wrestling. The thought that 'I would get my head torn off and my shoulders dislocated" is there. It isn't in many other sports. Then you have the rules. Not all that easy to understand for those with no experience or exposure to the sport.1 point

biden said today.. he wants to shut down the border and work on a path to legal status why do we need both? if he shuts down the border, the only way is legally. if he uses the legal path... the border can't be shut down. the only people who appear to be above the law are illegal immigrants1 point

the immigration bill did more for things that don't deal with immigration, than immigration. and as far as 'tough'? it allowed more immigrants than is currently coming in. so yeah trash.1 point

I looked up DEI and it looks like one of those things that starts with good intentions, acquires an acronym, develops measures that are only barely, and sometimes tangentially, related to the goal, that then cause people to first manage to the measure (instead of the goal), and ultimately figure out how to game the measure, the goal be damned. ESG is a perfect example of this. Carbon is bad, and more trees are good for the environment. Then someone says wouldn't it be great if we stopped a logging company from chopping down trees? But how do we do that? I know, with an incentive program. If you do not cut down those trees we will give you a carbon credit that you can then sell to someone who really, really wants to pollute. That way you still get paid even though you did not cut down those trees. We can see where this is going. Now I have an incentive to threaten to cut down trees that I never intended to cut down, just so I can get that carbon credit. And if that works I will threaten to cut down trees I do not even own. And if that works I will threaten to cut down trees that do not even exist.1 point

WTF is brass tax? After that your post is blah, blah. Move aside, let's break this down. When making the change to alternative energy sources, it isn't a switch where one goes off and the other goes on. There will always be a transitionary stage where we will be dependent on multiple energy sources. (How long EV's have been around yet charging stations still aren't close to being as universal as gas stations.) Transitioning is needed to make significant change. Wake up to that reality and stop whining about it. Your last post (above) was idiocy. Deal with the reality of what is actually happening as if you were an intelligent person. Progress won't wait for you to catch up.-2 points

Who killed an immigration bill, recently? Would it have been perfect? No. Could it have gotten the ball rolling to solve the problems somewhere down the line? Perhaps, but we'll never know now. But as long as you get to yell about it is the most important thing, right? And that you get to keep saying 'illegals' cuz we know how that resonates to the low information/high decibel voter. Regardless of legality. I imagine you're not an expert or else please correct me. So lets not talk about legal reasons. Because some of the things SCOTUS has done are against the constitution. So your argument falls flat right out of the gate. But again, lets not worry about the legal argument(because SCOTUS in its current form is illegitimate, hence all the batsh.. crazy rulings they are saving for the last minute) Why are you against student debt relief? Because there are tons of experts that say it is a net positive to relieve the debt. If you have information contrary to that, please share it? And are you worried about 500,000 people that are already married to US citizens? How does that negatively effect anyone? Also, do you care about the families or children of these people too? I will offer evidence if you really want it, btw.-2 points

36 years in the senate. 8 years as Vice President 4ish years retired from politics Decided to run for President after someone said there were 'very fine people on both sides' of a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, NC. You are going to believe what you want. It seems like you are locked in to your side. Not able to see how evil-adjacent it really is. Let's do the greatest hits; against bodily autonomy, pro christian theocracy(or at least all the tax dollars they ask for, would love to see you 'reason' that one away), anti free and fair elections(yes, they are pro 'free' but not pro 'fair'), anti science when it serves, anti feelings until it serves their cause, anti EPA(clean water/air) I'm sorry for you. I hope you realize your folly before its too late to make up for it. Its laughable that you even brought up wanting power. Because conservatives make up less than 50% of the population and yet control well more than 50% of states. Gerrymander states to protect their power while handcuffing Democratic governors(Wisconsin, Kentucky, North Carolina, Arizona-ish, Kansas). All of that is a desperate attempt to stay in power. You are lying to yourself if you think otherwise and your accusations, as usual, are more like confessions. Bless your heart.-2 points

Funny you say that but fail to prove it. Cuz you can't. And you take me plenty serious or you wouldn't take the time to respond in such a dishonest way. But needing to keep yourself convinced of the obvious lie is time consuming, I imagine. #RentFree In case you need proof that I was right. And I was. That means you weren't. Sorry. You just defended someone that wants to be a dictator. https://apnews.com/article/trump-hannity-dictator-authoritarian-presidential-election-f27e7e9d7c13fabbe3ae7dd7f1235c72 They said it to Hannity. Lying about someone being a liar only to be called out as the real liar. Wow that is meta. You are a joke. Thanks for the laugh.-2 points
