I had fun doing this last year and I thought it created discussion. Again, I am just a nobody wrestling fan so feel free to let me know where you think I went wrong or if I have the wrong starter or any general feedback EDIT: I plan to do the same for all of the conferences but I think Big Ten is the only one with all of its conference schedule completed. Big 10 Interactive Brackets Interactive Brackets: use the interactive brackets using the following letters: D, M, T, F (decision, major, tech, fall). Seed changes: You can change those seeds on the 125R, 133R, 141R, etc. sheets and it will automatically update the team predictions based off of seeds with no bonus factored in. Incomplete data: I only have a wrestlers record vs. who I am projecting will be the starters at that same weight. The Big 10 schedule is done so I figured I would get started but I will add in wrester's win-loss records, coaches ranking, RPI, and actual wrestlestat ranking (I have them all listed at #99 right now just to make the formulas work). My Best guesses at the seeds 125 lbs. #1 Matt Ramos (PUR) (6-1 BIG STARTERS) #2 Drake Ayala (IOWA) (6-2 BIG STARTERS) #3 Eric Barnett (WIS) (6-2 BIG STARTERS) #4 Patrick McKee (MINN) (4-4 BIG While I may not have a bias toward any particular team, I do tend to root for guys who came through the Lehigh Valley. From my experience, the strength of the youth system in the region is spread throughout mostly public schools with just a handful of private schools. It's generally accessible to everyone. And the culture and history are rich, boosted by Lehigh University and their success in NCAA wrestling. This is a pocket of land with 131 mile circumference and a population of just over 861,000. As a percentage of the US population it makes up 0.26%. As a percentage of division 1 wrestlers, the region supplies 2.04% of the overall pool. This translates into this region below having a 7.95 times greater conversion rate from resident to division one wrestler. Just saw this and wanted to share a recent experience I had with an older gentleman at a humane society pancake breakfast we hosted. I was volunteering as a server and approached this senior couple about their order. The gentleman was wearing an Oklahoma State cap and I commented that I was a former wrestling coach and very familiar with Okie State wrestling/John Smith. He proceeded to tell me he had played football for Oklahoma State and asked me if I knew who Myron Roderick was. I told him that any astute follower of wrestling was familiar with Roderick. He then shared that he and Myron played racquetball together and even paired up for some doubles. They were close friends up to the time of Myron's death. This gentleman had married a lady from our area and sold his real estate business in Tulsa and moved to smaller town Midwest Missouri. Just a chance meeting that ended up being an interesting story. They also left a very generous tip for our local shelter. Sorry about the highjack.5 points

Gore predictions: 1. “Within the decade there will be no more snows of Kilimanjaro,” he said to the audience in An Inconvenient Truth. This occurred moments before he makes his prediction for Glacier National Park. Result: Alluding poorly to the title of the Ernest Hemmingway short story The Snows of Kilimanjaro, Gore was trying to claim that Africa’s tallest mountain, with a peak that stands higher than 19,000 feet, would no longer have measurable snow cover on or before 2016. As of November 2022, Snow-forecast.com, a webpage for skiers, reported that an average of 93 combined inches of snowfall (almost 8 feet) hits just the middle altitudes of Kilimanjaro during November and December. And 9 inches of combined snowfall is the average expected for the middle elevations for July and August, the lightest two-month period for snowfall on the middle part of the mountain. The upper altitudes of Kilimanjaro supposedly get pummeled with an average of 171 inches (more than 14 feet) of snow during November and December. Another 127 inches (10 more feet) is expected during April and May. The expectation for September and October is 59 inches. According to Snow-forecast, every two-month period on Kilimanjaro’s higher elevations is expected to feature well over a foot of snowfall. 2. In his history lecture on the hurricanes of 2005, Gore claimed the lesson to learn was that we had been ignoring “warnings that hurricanes would get stronger” because of human-inflicted climate change. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) hosts a regularly updated webpage titled “Global Warming and Hurricanes: An Overview of Current Research Results.” The update as of October 2022 has this to say: We conclude that the historical Atlantic hurricane data at this stage do not provide compelling evidence for a substantial greenhouse warming-induced century-scale increase in: frequency of tropical storms, hurricanes, or major hurricanes, or in the proportion of hurricanes that become major hurricanes. The NOAA lists six named hurricanes making landfall on the continental United States in 2005, including four major ones. What Gore knew (or should have known) but did not mention when he claimed there had been “a lot of big hurricanes” was that the four “major” storms of 2005 were all measured at Category 3 intensity when they made landfall. This includes the star of Gore’s presentation, the obviously devastating Hurricane Katrina that ravaged New Orleans in August 2005. Category 3 is the lowest category that still qualifies as a “major” hurricane by the NOAA’s definition. In 2006 not a single hurricane of any kind made landfall in the continental United States. And then, over the next 10 years through 2016, not a single major hurricane hit the USA. During seven of those years (2009–2015) just four total hurricanes of any kind made landfall, three of them Category 1 and one a Category 2. No comparable era of docile hurricanes appears in the NOAA records going back more than a century. This period of unprecedented calm following immediately on the heels of Gore’s hurricane hyperbole really was—to borrow his analysis— “one for the books.” If Gore proved anything at all, it was that Mother Nature might be real, with a wicked sense of humor, and she decided to spend 11 years making a mockery of his movie. Gore is a self acknowledged climatologist. Apparently he got it wrong. mspart2 points

He did not. He valued his properties to get a loan. Any bank worth their salt will look into these valuations and determine if they are proper or not. If proper, then the loan can go through. If not, then the conditions of the loan will change or the loan will not be made. The bank testified for Trump. They made money and wanted to make more by working with Trump again. Does that sound like fraud to you? Who was defrauded? The banks made money, Trump used the loan money for purposes he had and benefitted. Win win, except it was win lose. How can you claim there was fraud when the entity supposedly defrauded claims they were not and want to do more business with that company? That there tells you the case was already decided when it was brought to trial. In fact, if he committed fraud, that is against criminal code. This was a civil case. That should also tell you something. Is there any doubt that this fine will be vastly reduced or eliminated upon appeal? No doubt. The victim in this case is the State of NY who have just lost any business investment opportunities because of the mania to get Trump. New Yorkers need to vote differently to get a different result for themselves. mspart2 points

I do not want Trump to be President. Does that mean I shouldn't call out corrupt government/judicial operations when I see it? I am off base for calling out corruption. The judicial system is supposed to be fair and unbiased. There was no way this was fair and unbiased and it is easy to see if you will see. I'm not off base. mspart2 points

While I think they’ll consider CKLV matches (which @bracketbuster seems to agree with based on the 125 records), they will likely give more importance to duals where Van Dee beat Teske. However that probably only matters if Teske is Iowa’s entrant2 points
-
I don’t think they ignore CKLV matches against other B10 guys. But even if you count the Smith/Ramos match, Ramos still has the best resume and Smith is still in that 4-8 range.2 points
-
There is no set criteria for seeding the B1G tournie. Instead it is based on a coaches' vote. So hard to say for sure which matters more. Also hard to say if they just consider conference results. If so, then the Smith win over Ramos would not matter as it was at CKLV. With Ramos 8-0 in conference I have to believe he is the top seed. But after that it gets messy. You have five guys with 2 conference losses (Ayala 5-2, Barnett 6-2, Davis 6-2, DeAugustino 5-2, McCrone 5-2) and two guys with three conference losses (McKee 4-3, Smith 4-3). But, both three loss guys have each beaten two loss guys and Ayala did not wrestle Barnett. Smith has beaten 2 two loss guys (Davis, DeAugustino) and lost to 2 two loss guys (Ayala, Barnett) and the other three loss guy (McKee). McKee losses are to the lone conference undefeated (Ramos), one of the two loss guys (Barnett) and a four loss guy (Peterson). I think that loss to Peterson is what causes him to be seeded below Smith. But the real question is do they put any of the three conference loss guys ahead of any of the two conference loss guys? Among the 2 loss guys, McCrone clearly has the weakest resume. I can see them elevating both McKee and Smith above McCrone. With wins over Davis and DeAugustino, maybe Smith even bumps over them. But with conference losses to Ayala and Barnett, I do not see Smith being above those two. So call it a range of 4 to 8 for Smith's seed.2 points

Will say it again. Haley is pro-establishment and hasn't accomplished anything that indicates she can lead the country productively. Trump influenced prosperity, country first, and anti-establishment is the overwhelming choice... we already know what we're doing to get... his support is made stronger each day of political prosecution. Somebody has to fight the establishment, and it isn't you, me, or Haley. It isn't that people are unwilling to move past Trump, it is that there are no viable options. Let's just tell it like it is. Haley is the candidate nobody knows for accomplishments but was well funded by democrats. Nobody wanted her to run for president, but she runs nonetheless. I share a lot of views with her on 'isidwith', but I dislike her lobby ties, waffling, military views, and opportunist tendency. Haley will have us fighting wars and not getting anything productive done. What chance does she have against the establishment? The establishment has laid itself bare. Corrupt. Nasty. Manipulative. Deranged. Psychopathic. Enter Trump: the unruly disruptor who defied the odds in 2016 and remains the defiant voice against the status quo. Publically hunted. Yet he lives. To oppose him is to surrender to the establishment's clutches, plain and simple. Now if Haley was more like Javier Milei...2 points

They (OKST) changed things up a bit. It has to be hard for coaches like Smith and Brands to change. The way they did things worked. I'm sure they believed the next season would be better and before you know it, ten/twenty years have passed them by. Cael hasn't had that. He is the new way of doing things. OKST have been great this season. I believe it has more to do with who is has come than who has gone. Brands and Iowa need a change. But, Brands has to realize it and make it happen or someone higher up has to insist it. That had to be what happened with Smith, one or the other. Even if he knows he's retiring soon, he's made a conscious decision to change up. And so far, so good. Just my thoughts. If I knew anything, I'd be rich...2 points

They definitely "get" more calls than they get screwed on. Reputation is a thing, but I think they also good cop bad cop the ref.
