Bingo. Big Tens = US Open and NCAAs = World Team Trials

Nasty matches every round and seeding doesn't matter because you have to go through everyone. It's going to be a meatgrinder.

Love it. Tell Scotty I say what's up. Excited to see Zan put it on the line. He shines brightest when the lights are on.

Joey Oliveri set to return (apparently) from his mysterious suspension against Hofstra and Princeton next week. He’s 13-0 currently and should enter big tens 15-0 but he wrestled in 0 big ten matches so he should get the 14 seed which sets up a R12 rematch from last year in the first round against Vombaur.

Of course you’re entitled to your opinion but you are giving an opinion on something that’s going to be decided in the numbers and the numbers and new criteria don’t favor Byrd. Do you think the big ten coaches are going to completely ignore the new seeding criteria and give Byrd the top seed just because ? It’s not a moot point bc seeding at ncaa will be crucial and a top 2 finish at big tens goes a long way and a big 10 semi vs Blaze/Davino and semi vs Fuggit/Ayala is a world of difference.

Exactly. Funny how seeds suddenly don’t matter when they know every metric favors Blaze as #1. Byrd needs to beat Davino at B1G if he wants the opportunity to wrestle Blaze.

I was arguing with Shane sparks about this yesterday , his reasoning is Byrd is national champ and hasn’t missed a dual this year so no matter what he’s the 1 seed, ignoring all the data and metrics and just going with feeling.

Per the formula, unless he beats Davino in the B1G 2/3 semi AND beats Blaze in the B1G final, he won’t be seeded #1 at NCAAs.

Last year the big ten proved that the past season didn’t matter when they gave Gable the 1 seed over the undefeated reigning big ten and ncaa champ Kerkvliet and the reasoning was Gable has a better season and more quality wins.

Now a year later you can’t seed Byrd #1 over Blaze when Byrd has 2 ranked wins all year #8 and #24 and Blaze has 10 ranked wins over #2,7,8,9,13,15,16,21,24 and 30. Common opponents -Byrd beat Ayala 7-2 and Blaze beat him 4-2. Bryd beat Shawver 3-1 and Blaze beat Shawver 12-2. The resumes for this season aren’t really close.

Smh as I pointed out in very detailed manner above the only criteria people seem to have for Byrd as the one seed is he won last year or he’s easy to root for.

Yes he doesn’t make the schedule but when the guys you are being seeded up against wrestled a much tougher schedule then you that matters.

if Davino is undefeated going into big tens he deserves the #1 seed and he if he wins big tens he should be #1 seed in the country , his resume at 133 is insane.

Blaze already has a better resume this season than Byrd and if he beats Davino I don’t see how you don’t seed him ahead of Byrd.
Byrd best big ten win is over 7-6 drake ayala who is 3-5 in the big ten

Being easy to root for isn't one of the seeding criteria, unfortunately for him (and Ayala).

Do you have Shane on speed dial?

Shane Sparks probably counts mat returns as part of his hyper-enthusiastic and idiosyncratic seeding criteria.  He brings passion to his wrestling commentary but should not be allowed within a ten mile radius of seeding meetings.

Duh it's because Lucas Byrd rides harder than Abella Danger on a Saturday night which is why he leads the nation in Returns To The Resilite™️ average

The B1G is changing seeding criteria this year. Its all a set point system. I cant remember all the points but its like  points for hvh, ranked wins in the B1G, record in the BIG, if you wrestled a dual but the opponent didnt wrestle you get rewarded as well. Theres going to be a lot to disect. But I believe with this criteria at 133 Blaze is #1. 157 Taylor #1, 174 2-5 is going to be interested as well.

I could see cases for Minto being the 2, 3 or 4. He was the only guy who didn’t duck Haines.

Kennedy and Kharchla should both have an extra L on their names; Kennedy’s duck at CHA was a really, really bad look.

The difference between 3 and 4 here is massive

Not really. Seeding absolutely matters. When it comes through 1-4

I agree. Minto actually has the highest RPI of any 174 so that should help him jump Kennedy and Kharchla for the #2 seed.
