nothing is a lock but both look very likely to be All-American's this year. who are some other brothers that made AA same year while wrestling for different schools?

mainly interested in D1 but other divisions are fine too. I know D3 had brothers wrestling in finals recently.

Josh and Scott Moore

The Ferraris will likely do it this year.

good examples, should have remembered Josh at PSU and Scott at UVA getting 2nd and 3rd respectively in same season.

1986 the Skove brothers from Long Branch NJ, Luke took 4th for Oklahoma state at 142 ( Kevin Dresser won the weight, Pat Santoro took 6th) and his brother Jude was National champ at 158 for Ohio State ( Rob Koll took 3rd and Royce Algar 5th)

1 of them has a son either a freshman or greyshirt at Harvard who was NJ State Champ

The Stout brothers (Mac and Luke) were seeded 6th and 11th at NCAAs last year and wrestled each other in the second round.  Mac won and went onto finish 7th.  Luke lost Wigan in the r16 to McDaniel.  Maybe the closest it’s come to happening recently.

In 1997 Joe Williams won D1 NCAAs wrestling for Iowa. His brother T.J. Took 2nd at NJCAA nationals wrestling for Lassen College.

similar timeframe and Iowa related, this made me think of the Strittmatters but looks like John was done at UPJ (or at least did not place in D2) by the time Jody was with the Hawkeyes.

A random offshoot question. It’s a rare occurrence, but occasionally brothers will take “co-championships” in the finals of tournaments instead of wrestling. I’ll show my age here but I think the Woodalls at PSU did this for freestyle once.

Would this be allowed to happen in a post-season final if 2 brothers met?

I think the Peterson brothers both AAed for different schools in 1971.  One at NAIAs and the other at NCAAs wrestling for Iowa State.

Ben took 1st in 1971 and John took 5th for University of Wisconsin-Stout

worth taking a look…. Connor Pierce and Marcus Blaze have been conducting interesting interviews with some of their fellow wrestlers. This one involves Josh Barr. Others recently include Duke, Rocco Welch and a few others.

I think the Purler twins (Nick and Tony) both wrestled at Okie State, then Tony ended up at Nebraska.  Nick AA for OkieSt, Tony was nat champ for Nebraska.  This was in the early 90's.  BTW, they were co natl Champs in freestyle on yr at Jr. Nats.  Missouri had a pretty respectable team that year.  Sammy Henson won a natty on the same mat, before the Purlers got their hands raised.

I thought of those guys but couldn’t find a year they were AAs at the different schools. Going back a little further looked at the Kistlers and Carrs but couldn’t find one with bros making AA same year at different schools. These were pretty casual searches so could have missed something.

On the interviews. Sound feedback & bounce. Get a sock or some sound absorption material so we can actually hear what is being said. As it is, very difficult to understand.
