Are you sure it wasn't Donald Trump?

Looks like it’s probably made by this company -

Based on their fb page seems like this guy has been trying to sell these cookies for 15+ years (although I’d bet Cael made some recommendations), so I appreciate the dedication.  Looks like the founder is a guy from Utah so maybe childhood friends with Cael?  Can’t tell if he wrestled but the fb page does include random wrestling posts about things like Helen Maroulis and Dave Schultz

1) They are expensive because they are produced in small runs and overpackaged in individual wrappers in a nice folding carton.

2) They are expensive because they use "healthier" ingredients, kamut flour is the main ingredient and whey, I mean way more expensive than mass produced flour.   It has all those wonderful dairy substitutes in order to double the cost while reducing flavor.  It uses organic ingredients that cost 50% more than non-organic ingredients that are chemically identical.  It has to have sugar and chocolate or no one would order a second box. 😀

3)  It's a lot of fat, but it is saturated fat, which is far better.  Fat isn't your enemy.

4) It has a decent amount of vitamins and minerals

5) It has lots of protein, but the protein per calorie is just awful.  Apparently, Cael's Greek Yogurt didn't test as well as his cookies.

You better be burning lots of calories and not making a big weight cut.  At $4-$5 per cookie, it's similar to artisan chocolate I've seen.  I'll pass.  I've been in the custom small run manufacturing business similar to food production.  Customer retention at that price point is very difficult no matter how good the cookies are.  Then again, people line up for a latte every day at Starbucks.

$5 per cookie feels like a lot even for a gourmet/healthy cookie.  Looking on Amazon/Walmart/Target companies like Quest and Lenny & Larry’s (had never heard of that one) sell individually wrapped cookies for $2 or less per cookie.  I know those are probably more mass-produced and Cael hopes his tastes better but over double the price is a lot.  There is a company on Amazon called “my Cookie Dealer” selling some for $5 per cookie but the reviews are not great with some of them disappointed about the price.
