I'm not sure you have this figured out yet...:classic_cool:

It's possible. The Kola Borehole in Russia was more than 7 miles deep.

This podcast says at 1:02 that they believe the reason for Arnold’s dismissal (or at least the final straw) was that the staff asked him to come to campus and he did not.  No mention of lying about a camp, but there was mention of him being on vacation with his girlfriend.

This was the first I’ve seen a media member talk about an actual reason for his departure. I was surprised Flo basically chalked it up to “well he probably wasn’t going to start anyway.”  Which is particularly stupid because they’d need him if Kennedy or Ferrari get hurt, maybe even Caliendo if it happened early enough to allow Kennedy to drop to 165.  And BOTH Caliendo and Kennedy graduate this year, so they could have easily just had him “medical redshirt” like Nagao and Facundo.

Is CARA still a thing in NCAA sports? It's pretty hard for coaches to require athletes to come in and practice or train at this time of year. I know a coach can "allow" kids to come in during the offseason for "voluntary" practice sessions, wink-wink nudge-nudge, but punishing them for not showing up is a little bit out of bounds. Like I get the hypothesis that Iowa might've been looking for any excuse to let Gabe go, but attendance seems like a shaky reason, esp for a program that allowed an assistant coach's kid to skip out on a mandatory compliance meeting not so long ago.

Info I heard from a person in Iowa City is that a certain wrestler told his coaches he would be at the OTC training and was instead spending leisure time away with his gf.

Another wrestler hit a female and knocked her out at a bar in IC a couple of Saturday nights ago. Do not know if the authorities got involved.

No finger pointing or names.

Willie seemed to validate the rumor about him being supposed to be working a camp in Iowa on today’s episode with Basch.

Speaking of, IIRC the first place I saw that was from the account pretending to be Ferraris uncle.  Maybe that was the burner of someone that actually has information (although I suppose it’s likely he may have pulled a Minnow and just lifted it from the Iowa board).

Oh did he do some reporting and got to the bottom of it? I didn’t think they did that kind of stuff.

My guess is that the door is not shut for Gabe to come back at some point in the future. Just not the immediate future

He can’t pull a Cornell and unenroll and keep his year of eligibility right?

Gabe is supposedly well over 200 pounds now.  I wonder what weight he'll wrestle if/when he comes back to Iowa.

What’s well over?   Did he make 174 last year?   ~26 lbs doesn’t seem like a ton at that level…. Especially if just summer fat.

16 is nothing (184).

I think that's just an Ivy League thing as the Ivies as a whole don't allow redshirts so the kid has to officially leave school to use their redshirt.  Most other institutions this wouldn't work as the eligibility clock starts when they enroll so they don't have to unenroll to use their redshirt and if they've already used their redshirt unenrolling would still just be wasting a year of eligbility

“Some” fat.   🙂

Summer is the time you wanna look jacked, stacked, succulent, striated, and DENSE. If you plan on making contact with bodies of water for prolonged periods of time then you best make sure that you look BULBOUS and impermeable
