Back up.  Wyatt wins 10-4.

Inconsistent officiating is a bane on American freestyle.   How no one went on the clock in the second period is beyond my understanding.

Cowboy RTC puts Forrest,Mckenna,Hamiti,Valencia,Hendrickson in the finals

NLWC puts Lilledahl,Messenbrink,Dake,Snyder

They only hit head to head at 86kg so it is possible that these two RTC's hold 8 of the first 12 (spencer and vito already there) spots in final X

Just watched match.  Score board people had big issues.  Lots of confusion  with a ton of time to get it figured out.  Had Zilmer with criteria.  Now Thomas being shown with criteria 6-6 with 40 sec left.  Went a while with Zilmer thinking he was winning.

Zilmer gets body lock - he had been getting in this position earlier.  Tries throw but literally falls on own back and bounces.  Thomas NEVER close to exposing.   Time ends.

2 pt correct throw awarded!!! And confirmed!!!  For Zilmer!!!  But thank freaking god Thomas team throws brick and it is overturned.  Thomas wins.

WORST FREAKING RULE IN WRESTLING … correct throw.  Glad it didn’t screw Thomas here.

Can you explain the "correct throw" thing? I'm still learning some of the freestyle intricacies.

Someone likely can do a better job ….

If wrestler A attempts a throw and lifts the other wrestler, but the throw doesn’t work as intended and the other wrestler does not land in danger or otherwise no criteria is reached that would earn points for wrestler A, the ref can say hey … wrestler A tried, good for him.  2 pts!

Ridiculous.  You can tell by my description that I’m biased against it.

Correct throws are garbage. They are literally participation points and should come with some orange slices when awarded.

When Gilman got hit with a “correct throw” by Abakarov at Worlds in 2022, I was stunned that it was a thing. I continue to be stunned that it is a thing.

It was not danger, it was not control. And it likely changed the match by requiring a shift in tactics for Gilman.

perhaps not.  how can someone be DQ'd for a non-match event?  missing weigh-ins or something?

I'd assume that would be similar to DeShazer and they have him as FF for his two matches he didn't wrestle today.  The mystery continues..
