in Meyer's crazy interview he said somethign about taking time off.  do you think that is just a few weeks/months, or maybe he takes a year away?  Does Greg D have ability to compete another year for an Ivy? or will he need to go somewhere else?

No clue. I'd imagine Shapiro sits out at least a decent portion of the freestyle season. Personally, I'd have him on a match count next year, regardless. Greg D. has eligibility and is expected to be back second semester next season, from what I understand.

My guess is the summer. He said in a Flo video that he was recruited by Penn State but he didn't want to cut and (in not so many words) work that hard lol.

My lineup:
125: Greg D. (Milani if Greg D. is hurt)
133: Ferrara (he was better than Ungar at 133, unless Ungar grows into the weight over the summer)
141: Cornella (Saunders if Cornella is hurt)
149: Fernandez/Joy, depending on wrestleoff
157: Shapiro
165: Cerchio
174: Ruiz
184: Hansen? Matt Furman? Transfer?
197: Dellagatta
285: Davis

184 is a gap in the lineup and might be for a bit unless Ruiz grows into it. 285 gets interesting the following year when Big Delly gets off of greyshirt.

I think Garvin is headed to Ann Arbor.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see Cardenas head out as well.

I know there is smoke with Garvin to Ann Arbor but it doesn't make much sense to me just from a need perspective as they have both Mantanona's with 3 and 4 years left at 165/174 (obviously if they are bringing Garvin in it is because they have a plan)

The plan needs to be either one of the Mantanonas to 184 or one to 157.  Unless Garvin can make 157?

I didn't realize Fernandez and Saunders had eligibility left. Definitely a good fallback option in both cases. 184 is by far the question mark though.

Fernandez is listed on the Cornell Athletics website as a senior but that's because someone in Ithaca screwed up two years ago. Before his second year the roster listed him as a junior, so this year he was listed as a senior.

What about Knox - he's not ready???

I'm sure he's ready, but from everything I've heard up to this point, the plan is to greyshirt all of the incoming freshmen. I'm not an insider, so maybe that has changed. @ugarles might have more insight.

Minnesota
125 Flynn
133 Transfer (Nagao please)
141 Vombaur (Wells redshirt)
149 Roberts/Transfer
157 Millard
165 Sparks med shirt or Riddle cut down from 174. I’d prefer Riddle.
174 Whiting
184 McEnelly
197 Nelson
HWT Tabor/Hopke wrestle off winner. I’d prefer a one year stop gap to let Hopke recover from a season ending injury and grow into the weight more.

184 Sinclair

197 Hawks

no additional insight; i've only heard the same scuttlebutt as you. maybe they pull his shirt if Greg D. is hurt or if Milani underperforms, but all indications are that they are giving the incoming class another year, including Knox. The assault charges in NJ, to the extent they are still live by the fall, also counsel against jumping straight into the lineup.

Fernandez told me he'll be back via sitting out the fall semester.  Gotta believe Saunders has (finally!) run out of eligibility.

174 - Ladarion Lockett

125: McCrone probably

149: Mendez/Cannon

157: Cannon/Shaw/Paddy/Birden

165: Paddy/Birden/Shaw

174: ???

184: Rocco

197: Shumate/Rogotzke/Geog

HWT: I could see Feldman taking a medical, Neves is good, maybe Swenski.

Mendez going 41 and Cannon at 57 leaves a gaping hole at 149. We know Tom doesn't like to go to the portal. Is Maddux Shaw good enough to beat any of the other 4 kids already there? Does one of them step up? If so who?

125: Kilkeary beats McCrone or portals.

133: Davino

141: Bouzakis if he stays. I believe he goes to PITT.

149: Mendez needs to start moving up for the 65kg FS weight.

157: Cannon

165: Birden/Chase

174: Welsh if he stays

184: Rocco

197: Shumate

HWT: Feldman-No RS is going to help him get longer. He's already strong.

Gonzales, Hepner, Geog I figure are all portal guys unless they don't want to wrestle.

As @MPhillips said kilkeary could be at 125 also. I would like to see Davino (133), bouzakis (141), Mendez (149). I think Birden goes 174, paddy at 165, and Ryder RS.

Is Sneed having a rough cut to 165? Just curious. I could see Sneed, Bambinelli and Danny Heiser filling 165-174 in some combo. I’m sure Smith will RS all incoming guys which he does more often than not. But man we really need the best team in the mat this year. Idk if I can take another season like this last one.

I think there was an interview with Gray after the whole situation with Knox at districts where he said the plan was to do a greyshirt year.

Hopefully Rocco puts some muscle on in that year.  Otherwise, I can't see just his technique being enough to compete at this level.
