Not clear on what you're getting at. But given Shapiro's lengthy history of injuries, would it be truly surprising if there’s yet another one? I'm as disappointed as anyone, but the Cornell hate from some on here is laughable. Dake and/or Yianni beat your wrestler back in the day? Afraid of some Ivy League boys?

Something was definitely off with the Cornell boys this weekend. Shapiro has had his share of medical issues, and I'm sure that's contributing. Still, a tip of the cap to a now 3x AA. While disappointing in the sense that it's not as high as his previous placements, it's still to be commended and a testament to how tough this tournament truly is.

I think there's clearly something going on medically, especially given today's MFF. He looked gassed almost every match, which is definitely out of character. Especially so for someone who doesn't cut weight. It's generally bot wise to go around accusing a now 3x AA who is also accomplished on the world stage of being mentally weak. That's just lazy and disingenuous on your part. Do better.

I mainly lurk, rarely post, and hardly ever agree with anything you post. However, in this case, you're spot-on re: Cornell. Not sure what happened, but I hope it gets fixed soon.

I'm biased, but Joy was the better wrestler there. Buesgens took 2(?) shots during regulation, and Joy should've had the takedown in the first period. I still like his chances against SVN, should they meet in March.

I'm sure he's ready, but from everything I've heard up to this point, the plan is to greyshirt all of the incoming freshmen. I'm not an insider, so maybe that has changed. @ugarles might have more insight.

I didn't realize Fernandez and Saunders had eligibility left. Definitely a good fallback option in both cases. 184 is by far the question mark though.

No clue. I'd imagine Shapiro sits out at least a decent portion of the freestyle season. Personally, I'd have him on a match count next year, regardless. Greg D. has eligibility and is expected to be back second semester next season, from what I understand.

Big upset, to be certain. However, I'd put Ramos' pin over Lee as a bigger upset, especially since Lee was going for his 4th title. I thought (along with several people I was with tonight) that Hendrickson had a legitimate chance, although it'd take a perfect match. He looked great against Kerk last night and carried it over to tonight.

Shapiro took almost all the shots but just didn't finish. Why in the world would you go for a throw, not once but twice?! Just keep attacking the legs! Gimme Shapiro 9/10 times. Unfortunately this was the one!
