So all mentions of Enola Gay were removed and now the section about the Navajo Codetalkers, some of whom are still alive, was removed. I guess Trump thinks any mention of gay is bad, and the Codetalkers only got their job because of woke DEI hiring practices and should be erased.

So if you're a straight, white, make, you have nothing to fear.

i dont agree with any of that. not sure what this was removed from... but we don't want to become the left and try to rewrite history.

i do have a question ... why was enola gay removed?

I believe it was in error.  A rather embarrassing and avoidable error.  Likely an automated process of removing the word "gay" from official government material that didn't involve much human intervention didn't recognize the context and that it was a proper noun.

Trip, you should let your congress person and senator know about this.   I don't know anyone that would be agreeable to this when brought to their attention.

Like I said before, and some had issue with, I am a wealthy, white, male, I am sure I will be fine.

And now I can add straight to the list.

BTW this is the doing of that moron, Pete Hegseth, who epitomized what Trump claims he is trying to stop. Hegseth is unqualified even if he doesn't fit Trump's definition of a DEI hire.

Let's just be honest here. Trump and by extension his secretary of defense are white nationalists. There's no other reason to do that.

Wikipedia?

Merriam Webster:

nationalism

noun

na·tion·al·ism ˈna-sh(ə-)nə-ˌli-zəm

plural nationalisms
1
: an ideology that elevates one nation or nationality above all others and that places primary emphasis on promotion of its culture and interests as opposed to those of other nations, nationalities, or supranational groups

That means you could call me a mostly white nationalist.

Statistically speaking, you are probably racist too then. Not 100%, but certainly >50%.

And you can shove your stats right back where you pulled them from.

Statistically speaking, everyone is probably racist.   Not 100% but certainly >50%.   Blacks, Whites, Hispanics, Polynesians, Asians, Europeans, Middle Easterners, Africans.   Even Wisconsinites.

Well look at that, Wisconsin is racist.   From the the google:

  • White (non-Hispanic): 80.1%
  • Black or African American (non-Hispanic): 6.01%
  • Hispanic or Latino: 7.6%
  • Two or More Races (non-Hispanic): 3.28%
  • Two or More Races (Hispanic): 3.23%
  • Asian (non-Hispanic): 2.86%
  • American Indian and Alaska Native: 1.2%
  • Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander: 0.2%
  • Some Other Race: 8.4%

Trying to negatively insinuate it’s "White" nationalism is unfair, lazy minded, and racist because it blames skin color when it’s really about losing culture. We used to all speak English (90% back in the ‘50s), but now it’s 75%. Kids used to know our history (80% did), but now it’s just 45%. And we went from 80% watching the same shows to under 10%. Stuff we shared is fading for everyone (not just whites).

The non-Hispanic White population’s HAS dropped from over 85% in 1970 to about 56%.  We don’t care about the skin color part; we care about the shared culture tied to it.

American culture is eroding for the worse... Trust in each other’s down from 60% in 1970 to 25% now, kids who feel they belong in school fell from 85% to 70%...

Let's use some critical thinking about removing information because it is DEI.

What is DEI intended to do?

  • DEI is intended to promote fair treatment, access, and opportunity for underrepresented groups while addressing systemic inequities in institutions.

How has it been abused?

  • DEI has been abused when used to prioritize identity over merit, enforce quotas, or push ideological conformity rather than genuine equity.

What contributes to its abuse?

  • Political agendas, lack of clear definitions, and institutional pressure to signal virtue without measurable outcomes contribute to its abuse.

Why is identity labeled?

  • Identity is labeled to track and address disparities

What is the risk of labeling identity?

  •  The risk is reducing individuals to categories.  This can cause division or tokenism.

Why would someone want to remove race identity in articles?

  • Highlighting race implies that success is noteworthy because of identity rather than ability.

Did Trump say to flag every article that includes a racial identity?

Has the New York times been called out for fake news?

  • Yes and there has been backlash on x.com against the NYT for amplifying unverified stories related to COVID-19 origins and election fraud, with critics arguing it prioritized narrative over facts.

The New York Times does not list all targeted words.  Specifically it does not list the word "white."  Why might that be?

  • Selective editorial: "Black" is likely prioritized because it is illustrative of the DEI debate.  (as is latino, indigenous...)
  • Practical irrelevance: the default race is white and assumed unless a deviation from the norm occurs.
  • Less likely... NYT bias, White Nationalism, etc.

Why would the Rogers article be flagged?

  • The man was identified by his race.

Why would the article be removed?

  • Unknown.
  • Doing this work (5K+ articles) at scale implies the use of bots that do not understand context.  AI makes plenty of mistakes when answering questions that I am an expert in.
  • It is not practical that so many articles could be reviewed by a human to make an informed choice to exempt, alter language, or remove an article.
  • It is unlikely that "White Nationalism" is the answer based on a lack of evidence
